rodgers also can get spanish and italian la...moreno, manquillo, balo, borini  whistling.gif
and the only italian players i remember rafa getting for lfc are dossena and aquilani...both hardly sucesses...tho dossena's goals will always be remembered...
*
Very seldom Italian players adapt well in EPL, may be due to pace and physical.

EPL seems like more suit to players from Dutch league, whereby a number of well known players, like Bergkamp, V.Nistelrooy, Van Persie, Suarez, Kuyt.

After much thought,i think keeping brendan rodgers will be a better decision though it will be unpopular.Sacking and rehiring the entire backroom staff is gonna cost alot. That money is better used for transfers.
Rodgers has come out and said that he wanted marquee players but wasn't given the money.
I suppose that the owners also have to take blame.
*
The problem is the manager is weak in identifying good players and the record of success in transfer speaks itself.

huh? Hundred million spent, that now complain was not given the money? shocking.gif

QUOTE(Rotuham @ May 1 2015, 04:40 PM)
Yes but his net spend was only about 35 million. Most of the money was recouped by suarez, assaidi and suso sales.Besides there is this stupid wage structure that are FSG don't want to break.

Rodgers wanted willian, mkhitaryan and costa type of players but was forced to shop at lower prices.
I don't absolve him of blame completely as he was responsible for the southampton shopping.

What i do think is that he will be targetting higher calibre of players if he was not restricted by FSG.
FSG are very shrewd and certainly should take blame.
*
The manager bought 100 million plus of players, whether the net is how much or not doesn't matter.
Fact is 100 mil is given to be splashed.

When a manager spent 100 million and yet complaining no money was given for marquee signing, then it is the manager fault that unable to find good players in the transfer market.
The manager can sign a marquee signing of 60 million with the 100 mil war chest and still got 40 mil left for others.

Lallana, Lovren, Markovic already worth more than 60 million.

Mind that not a single signing (except Can) of last transfer window (that worth more than 100 mil) who can be proclaimed a permanent spot of starting XI.

QUOTE(Rotuham @ May 1 2015, 11:58 PM)
The problem here is that FSG dont want to pay above 100k per week for any player. They think that a player should earn it.Even suarez for all his heroics was only offered 200k per week if he stayed.
If going to 2nd from 7th in one season was possible with SAS,I dont see why rodgers won't get top 4 again next season if he gets the strikers he wants. The last thing the club needs is another cycle of rebuilding.
If they really have to pull trigger, then i hope they have already convinced klopp to sign before that.
*
I don't buy the theory of cycle of rebuilding that needs at least 3-4 years to shape up the team.

Rafa won CL with first season in charge, although finished 5th, but after than consistently into top 4 position, and another CL final.

LVG only take half a season to turn the team around, from midtable team to 2nd.

If the manager is good and with money to spend, the team generally will show sign of improvement, it may not land the club a league title, as definitely not the like dismay performance like this year.

The team has gone backward that identical to 1st year BR in charge. 3 years rebuilding now back as same as first year, what kind of rebuilding is that?
Now the team basically need to rebuild again so not much different with new manager rebuilding.

25 mil player missed (shooting way out) in 1 v 1 situation against keeper.
>100K wages rated player miss an open goal that only required a tap in.

sweat.gif

Since revert to back 4, with Lovren in play, goal leaking is becoming like norm just like early season.

4 points difference with inferior GD basically need 5 points to overtake MU with 3 matches to play, how to chase?

MU given chance, but BR blew it big.
If win against WBA and Hull (which on paper should be 6 points in the bag), now Liv would like sitting 1 points above MU already.

I hate being given false hope.
In that case,a must win game against mourinho at the bridge?the last person you wanna pin your hopes on is rodgers.lol
*
MU just needs 5 points from the remaining 3 matches then all is over for 4th place, even Liv win the remaining matches.

The only possible way to overtake MU
MU win 1 draw 1 loss 1, Liv win 3.

But, BR record is not something convincing, tend to blew it when matter the most, so can almost forget about the false hope.

*
Players BR bought :
Allen, Borini, Assaidi, Ilori, Alberto, Aspas, Lovren, Moreno, Lallana, Markovic, Balo.

None can be said they nail a starting XI.

QUOTE(Ichighost @ May 5 2015, 11:56 AM)
Money provide you with the best players to help you in the title charges, but it is not everything. Manager for me is the most crucial part of a successful club.

Renieri failed, AVB failed, Scolari failed, others just did okay (RDM is an exception)..only Carlo and Jose that proven to manage Chelsea...but all was given the resources and money to be successful.
*
That's why you need a top manager to top the league.
Money is the sole ingredient, Hughes failed to win the league with Mancity despite given financial support to buy players.

Look at how JM spent over the last summer.
Costa, Fabregas, Matic, worth less than 70 mil, but the teams look entirely difference compared with last year with the new addition.
This is what people called, spot on to improve the team weakness.

Compared to

Liv spent 100 mil, on Balo, Lallana, Lovren, Markovic, Moreno, who can't cement a place in starting XI.

To hire a good manager n staffs also required a lot of money... and those good managers love to spend big on players with huge salary...
*
Simeone didn't spend a lot money with high wages players, yet can win the La liga and into CL final and despite can't challenge the title this year, yet not plummeting like what Liv did.

Difference is the manager knew how to spot good players and instill a good team formation, strategy to defy the odd.
Same with AW and Klopp as well.

you miss one obvious reason, do both of them want to play for br?
*
Then get a manager can attract big name or good players.

Simeone, AW, Klopp and to certain aspect Rafa have good CV recruit good players that being interested by big money spender club afterwards.

I know Costa doest want as he rejected us in 2013 and only move to Chelsea 2014. Fabregas was always out of our league once he move to Barcelona.

Costa playing under BR may ended look like Balo... tongue.gif

Apart from Milner, whom I feel would be a useful addition to the squad, the other 2 can forget them. Signing players from Burnley is not what the club should be doing. For goodness sake, Burnley are getting relegated!
*
Milner is a good squad member, but currently the club need a marquee signing who can lead the team, typically like Sanchez or Suarez type of players.

British assemble to the fore !!  sweat.gif

Our frontline could look like this Sturridge, Ings, Origi For next season n beyond. Liverpool  cool2.gif  sweat.gif
*
Not interested yet talk with the player? What kind of statement given by the manager.
Sour grape perhaps... sweat.gif
The inability and poor in transfer dealing even more obvious now.

MU signed player from PSV (top team in Dutch league)
Liv want to sign player from bottom of the league. sweat.gif

There is high possibility Ings is the repeating of Borini.

QUOTE(skeleton202 @ May 9 2015, 01:27 AM)
Br factor is only afew.. main thing is the club itself have nothing to offer.. no cl, no big money, and the town also not that helpful.. plus we are so slow in transfer. How come want to compete likes mc,mu,chel...

We will always be in 2nd or 3rd fiddle for player's choice.. just like depay.. this guy has been promising almost 3season but when we going to bid after he scored 20goals then it's already too late
*
Liv was able to secured Alonso, Torres, Suarez signing previously despite without CL football to offer nor paying the extra-ordinary transfer fee.
So this only suggest element of weakness in dealing in transfer.
