OMG... i hav competition on 1st May...

you can start immediately by practicing at the wall,. Believe me, it is very effective. I have not played for so long ( previously stop for 11 years then play for 6 month, then latest stop for 3 years ), I was suprised I can keep alot of my balls on the table last Saturday. I just practice on the wall and table all these time.

1. How to play on the wall ?

Practice Top spin, stand about 7-8 feet away from the wall, hit ball down to the floor ( like top spin to the floor ) then let it bounce to the wall and the wall will bounce the ball to you, then you hit down the floor again like top spin... continue until you beat the wall smile.gif hehehe You can do that for both backhand and forehand.

Practice Bottom spin, stand nearer to the all about 2 feet away without bouncing on the floor, hit ball to the wall, let ball bounce on the wall dont let ball fall on the floor, you hit back to the wall. Repeat the same. You can do that for both forehand and backhand.

2.How to play on the table ?

Practice Brush Loop. Put ball on table, use use the your bat brush ball on top let it roll off its position and you catch the ball with your hand when it roll off ( if you have alot of balls, you can have a basket to collect at the edge of the table ) and repeat the same for both forehand and back hand.

Do that while you look for a place to practice your ping pong.

Good luck to you smile.gif

btw. are u joining the PP4M tournament, they have it on 1 May also. I have to pull out of that tournament due to some family matters.

tsd... you want cpen or SH? I know they have both. I think the price will be around 150 to 170... but will confirm for you. You wanna go all-wood now?
*
someone ask me to check price, it is a Shakehand, Sword RG-SER70 is not a wood, its a composite blade. I dont think it will be that cheap.

Since day one I switch to shakehand in 1993, I have never played all wood blade smile.gif all the time composite. Last time I use Butterfly Sardius ( used from 1993 - 2007, retired already although conditions is still good ). My second Shakehand blade is Butterfly KLH special ( bought in 2007, still hardly play with it ) and I will be using the KLHSpeical from now. Cannot cope with Sardius anymore.

tsd... sorry... I got mixed up with the WST70-SEC which is a 7 ply all wood.

Ok... the RG-SER70 is interesting... the carbon is the middle core... very thin. Tried bouncing a ball on it naked... quite bouncy... but not as bouncy as a Clipper. I have a feeling it's a looper's blade.
*
did u have a good game yesterday? I am totally grounded, my wife is away oversea, come back only next week, nobody to take care of the kids.

where have u been ?

aiyoo.. I dunno how to ajar one lah, not qualified. I think K2002 has the quality to ajar... he got better technique than mine.

Too bad I am being grounded again, cannot play for the time being. I just change my bat rubber ( Bryce Speed and Outlaw ... playing on the wall does feel nice, plenty of speed.

oh well tsd, i am an intern in Siemens located in Phileo. Near Jayaone wink.gif I have not played with Gambler Outlaw just yet. When i actually find the space to do it ill go change my rubber.
*
Good, when u finally found a place to play, let us know. I am sure alot of people would like to join u.

I got feeling that the Outlaw rubber is not easy to control, have to hit hard to get it moving. It might difficult to handle those delicate shots. On the durability side.. so far so good, still in good condition, almost 1 week playing on the walls, no damage or deterioration of the rubber. What they say might be true, quite similar to Bryce ( have not played on real table to confirm that ) ... smile.gif hopefully it can last and I can finally find a cheaper alternative to Bryce. Imagine Bryce Speed is RM160 and this rubber is only RM35. I can buy 4 pcs of Outlaw for 1 pc of Bryce Speed.

sorry, I am not going to play, my wife is still not back yet... I have to take care of the kids at home.

You can also try to take Train to Miharja ? You can take the commuter to KL, not sure which station can change to the LRT to Miharja station, walking distance to TTT.

How is your practice coming along ?

Good luck to you in your tournament smile.gif

Added on April 30, 2010, 11:57 pm

On second thought, maybe the LRT may be too complicated.

I just do a quick search on this,

You need to take Commuter from Klang to KL Sentral, Change to Putra LRT to Masjid Jamek then Change to Ampang Line to Miharja.

Added on May 1, 2010, 12:00 amsurely there are place to play in Klang right ? have u tried all the MCA hall ? ussually they have table tennis sessions

i had withdraw myself from the tournament... there are too many high level players there... which includes quite a number of state players and even national...
i knew my current skills will never beat them...

i stil havent got the time to ask about the MCA hall... but i will soon... but anyhow i enjoy playin with u guys... i will try to find my way pf transport there... =)
*
aiya.. u should not have withdrawn no matter what type of opponent that you might have to face, experience is important. When u play with high level player, even you lose badly is also good experience. Next time dont waste such oppurtunity.

Yes, Sham called but I was busy with my cousin brother wedding, so I couldn't make it.

To make a team, min. 5 pax, max 7 pax.
I have 2 persons in mind. Terry knows this guy too, a Mr Goh (used to play at Sunway, now mostly at OUG) and another teacher friend, who is currently in China.

Dunno if Terry is interested. Will liase with him once he is back from his overseas holidays.

I think it is good to join for the exposure.

Added on June 15, 2010, 10:05 amTSD,

If you like, you can join me & Terry at Sunway. Weekly Tuesday & Thursday 6.30 - 9.30pm.
Except for the week 29/6 - 3/7, of which I will be away for my Mt Kinabalu trip. Terry should be around and the other members too.
*
I wish I can join u guys but my wife is working late lately, so I need to take care of the kids. By the time she come back and settle down, already after 9.30pm already. I have to wait for the day when she come back early from work then I can join u guys.

Can ask Terry to join in the team also, no need to win the competition.. just go there for exposure and fun smile.gif myself also dont expect to play well also.

Dont worry about my lack of practice, win or lose I can still give my opponents a hard time. In this tournament, state and national players cannot take part.

So what happened? I used to play there untill i have go to work in Penang
for a few weeks. Will start again sometime next week.

Who won anyway?
*
Games were played over 2 days, single group round robin for all categories. I played men's single and men's double. My game was horrible, I was just depending on my service to win points, 95% of my attacking shots missed the table. My defensive game were also sitting duck, high and nicely placed for my opponents people to attack. Cant attack, cant defend and everything depends on my serve... hahaha terrible.

Anyway,

for mens single. Brian won ( he wins all his game ), Jeremy took second place ( he lost 1 game, to Brian ), as for me, I lost 3 games.

for mens double a major upset, Terry and me won, Brian and Andrew was runners up... we were just very lucky, we won because of our strategy game works.

Ladies single, won by Susan,

Mix double, won Susan and Andrew
