Hey there, welcome to being a potential Windows phone user in future. Id say the cam is good but depending on what (brand new / 2nd hand) and where you're buying it from you should stay on the look out for phantom touches that can be caused by putting it in a pocket and the normal stress that is exerted on it. (Bent phone is huge sign that it may have such issues).

Whatsapp is fine, telegram too (AFAIK), official Instagram is still in Beta since forever - try 6tag by Rudy Huyn (3rd party app with more features) be warned however that you need to pay to remove adds and pay one more time if you intend on posting videos (this guy has servers to maintain = $$$ ). As for Facebook, oh man, this app has to be the worst of them all, so bad that it even works better in IE (on Windows phone). You will be disappointed by it for sure as you're coming from android. Perhaps project Islandwood and Astoria can help with that once WM10 is launched.

I believe the pros and cons of windows OS have already been studied by you and so im just answering to what you want to know.

Either ways, hope this information helped you to make a better choice. Oh and if you really want it, I suggest waiting till after Oct 6th as new flagships are launching which should lower the price.

whats the price to change my cracked 1520 screen?

Last I checked somewhere around RM800 for the genuine one, not including labor. Might as well get a used L1520* or some other phone.

*My phone has a screen with sawan babi since day 1 so I've been considering this option lately but seeing that it's a common problem I'm not really excited to pay ~RM800 for a phone lottery. If I were you I'd just save up for 950XL or get a 550 temporarily. If you're not interested in the 950s, a used 930 is an option too.

Sawan babi need to vaccinate haha. On a more serious note get support from Microsoft and tell them that from day one it has "sawan babi", you may get goodwill replacement~

Is it expensive to replace the battery? My phone's battery degrading really fast nowadays..

RM 160.XX. That was the amount quoted to me by service center in Amcorp Traddw Ctr. However I still haven't managed to change my battery yet. Late nov when I went, there was no stock and needed to order. Went back a few days ago and system down couldn't do anything.
So better call them first before you go if you are going.

I changed it for RM180 at Danga City Mall JB. But now cannot charge full to 100%, only until 83%. Sigh, at least I still can use the phone.

My phone is having some weird problem lately, just wondering anyone having the same problem before...

1) Whatapp - Suddenly automatically press on random key and send message.
2) Games - Suddenly Zoom in and out.
3) Main screen - Suddenly Will scroll up and down.
4) Camera - Suddenly will go setting/bing search.
5) Browsing - Suddenly it go to bing search.
5) Sometimes i cant even press back or home button when the phone is acting strange.

If anything above happen, i just have to lock and unlock again(sometimes need to unlock and lock few times) to use it as normal.

its common error on 1520, my 1st unit 1520 also having such problem. its time to replace your touch screen or buy 950XL

Yeah 950XL seem cool. But gonna check how much it cost to repair 1st. Never thought of buying a new phone since i start use 1520 (the only weakness is lack of apps).

i bought few sparepart from them.

I bought my battery from ebay (ship from china) and same as yours. Cannot charge to 100% only 82%. So after couple months using it I decide to look in lelong.com.my. I found a seller selling rm109. But I just take the address and walkin at pertama complex.
I DIY battery change and now can 100%.

I have no confidence to change it myself haha. Well I don't mind about this problem, as long as I can use this phone for another year (or two).

Oh great. Just great. Need to pay for the touch screen to solve the problem. But will it really solve the problem? Maybe just wait for the next flagship.

Just got my second hand L1520. It is already on windows 10 when i opened the parcel and play a bit. Not sure which build. Turned ON wifi and it says got update, so i update loo...

Then until now it keeps restarting from Nokia word to blue windows logo. Am i in trouble here

try using recovery tool to revert back to earlier build 8.1 then redo win10 update using windows insider.

Thinking of sending my sawan babi Lumia 1520 to service center. Will the warranty cover this part? Is the Penang island service center ok? If charged. Think of throwing this device into elop face.

Tie it with a brick first.

I m now trying a trick.enable the rotation lock and today no sawan babi happen yet. Will monitor for more days.
