Can request to change the card type from visa to mastercard? Mine just approve for visa + amex

your case is diff with me...Recently I applied for Ikhwan, then Cimb, and then Mach.. and only mbb ikhwan approved me.
CImb garden instant approval rejected me, the agent said I own too many cc, asked me cancel unused cc, then go back there to apply, no need wait 6 months. After cancel can try go back there.
Mach also rejected me with reason my debt to net income ratio is >65%..    

When I apply house loan 2 years ago, rhb house loan approval benchmark for debt to net income ratio is 75%, but this Mach CC benchmark even lower..65%... THey told me bank negara is very strict already.. 
Asked agent why MBB approved me, she said different bank different approval style..depends on bank lor..

I think the reason why mbb approved me because I am their loyal customer, have house loan, car loan, used their cc for 7 years++ already, and all payment records are nice.
For cimb, I didnt even have a saving acct there, never use their service..
For Mach, I owned Mach in 2013 but terminated in 2014 with the reason of seldom use (that time I got OCBC titanium with dining 5%, Petrol 5%) .. Now want apply back same card, kena rejected

Actually i already have another visa card from hsbc. Want to try mastercard now. Do we need to wait until the card arrive before can ask them to change or can do no and how long does the process will be?

bro just sharing. i think u dont have to wait for 6 months as for my case it was rejected last march due to DSR but i resubmit thru their mobile sales team 2 weeks ago and got it approved. if u wanna resubmit my suggestion is u provide more supporting docs i.e BE form, 3 months bank statement and etc.

Your credit limit is not blocked but there's a % charge to the amount.

No lar. Free for life mah. I was thinking to get the Amex premier 2 cards or Amex plat 2 cards.....finally decide to get the plat. Will only use 1k to capitalize the 5% rebate n 5x TP.

Nope. the one I apply is amex plat comes with another master card. I only want the 5% weekend rebates. The 5x TP is not much difference than using my VI as the conversion rate is about the same but I need to spend 50k in order to waive nexr year annual fees. If add another 80k usage, I ll be koyak....

First time using Amex card. Next year ll change to krisflyer Amex.

they always called you to increase your limit.
