after 5 years working with telcos, U Mobile would never tarik balik something without offering better things, some comments above pointed out the issue as well, U rely on pricing for now as they only got the better coverage and indoor experience next year, before that simply enjoy it as there is no contract, I always encourage customers to port to better plan, when umobile better then port in back, beneficial both of us hehe
*
Any telco just started standard la coverage issue. Personally to me what I impress about Umobile was when they first started, their main target area was outside Klang Valley which was smart.

Now I am one of the U user. So far so good. 1 good week.

But what concern me now is the prepaid UMI Umobile already stated Limited extra 1GB offer. I hope this will become permanent. Even better additional 1gb more would be awesome for more than 6 months or a year customer. Fingers cross! icon_rolleyes.gif

I just ported into U Mobile because the stupid WeBe looks like won't be ready for a few months more.

What can I say about U Mobile?

Well, it still sucks. The speed is not up to par, the line frequently slow, so you still will find problems playing with REAL TIME mobile games (which all require a consistent, stable and fast connection).

But at least, a bit better than Celcom. Celcom was really terrible as far as line quality is concerned.

Don't just look at how much GB all these telcos offer, but look at the QUALITY.

The quality is still bad.

WEbe??? I thought available on the 13th. So now, I am happy being Ube. thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

So far Umobile has been good for me - I'm at OUG on 26 Floor and my umobile reception is almost full...surprise suprise - my work Maxis line only has 3 bars -

LTE connectivity I get about 10 - 12 Mbps - Upload 10 - 11mbps

For Maxis LTE  I get 6 Mbps and upload around 4mbps

Office in Bukit Bintang - 29th Floor I get around 9- 12 Mbps, upload around 6 - 10 Mbps

So overall its ok for me - notice when i go to the basement car park - automatically it switches to its roaming partner - Maxis and automatically goes to Edge - while my Maxis still has 3G.

Lets see what happens when i go back to my hometown up north labor day weekend...
*
good luck!

mine in Bangi LTE got 20++mbps but only 3g in Nilai. But I still leave maxis coz the speed does not affect me much Hardly watch youtube or stream any video except for radio / music streaming

I've yet to see 20 Mbps yet - then again I've been using this in high rise buildings - haven't had time to test outside much

I'm wondering whether if anyone has tried their free youtube streaming from 2am - 10am? says its free but validity is 30 days?
*
i tried stream hitzfm but the app is not that stabke...I wish they add Tune Radio as well

But I am wondering, does the free streaming still applicable if the umobile line works using mobile wifi modem and tethering for several devices

youtube streaming is free from 2 to 10am as long as you have an active plan (power prepaid without any active plan is not qualified)... and it is only for 500mb, less than 30 min if streaming full hd 1080p... the 500mb will be renewed everyday...
yes, streaming using wifi modem, mifi, portawifi, or device like tl-mr3420 is possible...
*
wow...where is it stated that it is only 500mb??

Good to know we can do that for radio streaming

THank you. i was looking everywhere for this T&C. This makes me want to try finish up the 500mb and see whether the 'managed' speed can handle the video loading smile.gif

But with the managed speed it will not reduce the allocated monthly data if playing youtube during that period

I just noticed, when I was with the M provider I always reported that whenever I went inside Tesco in my area, the M network signal dropped and several time got no signal. But umobile really impressed me. No drop in signal.

After I reported the issue, the M replied me to ask around to know if there are any other of their customers having the issue, gila betul!

Unlimited Data, it is not Unlimited Quota
that's how the "term" works.
shouldn't it 64kbps ?
*
it is to me unlimited in term of how much we can consume, but with reduced speed after 500mb. With reduced speed, the monthly allocated data will not be deducted and with no additional charges until 10am

Finally we figured out what problem, this overdue payment is the hotlink famous advance credit method, meaning if you SOS credit with maxis and not yet return to them, they would reject the port out request for prepaid
Unlimited data but is 500mb quota haha
*
advanced credit method = temporary cheap contract. pay first then can port out. Maxis is smart

Hi Sifus,

I am currently on power prepaid. If i subscribe to UMI 25, how many minutes of free call to umobile numbers per day? Since power prepaid user will have 15mins / day of free call to umobile numbers already, but the free call to umobile stated in UMI 25 is not clearly stated.
*
I thought regardless what UMI package you pick, you will still have the 15 minutes free from umobile to umobile daily

just that UMI25 does not have any allocated minutes to all network calls

Hi all

i just try out umobile prepaid.

The Power prepaid as in attached pics, is of 3g or 4g ?

Because every time it shows H+ on my tablet, but the speed is a lot faster than maxis

So just wish to confirm if it's 3g or 4g sim card...

Thx
*
If you are in LTE coverage area + LTE device

1) You will get LTE speed - my test 15-25mbps

2) Otherwise it will be 3G only with average 6mbps

I just use it beginning 10th Apr and on 17th confirmed ported from Maxis -> Umobile.

Cannot wait to change my UMI20 to UMI30/UMI38....such freedom to switch plan as I see fit

Reload RM30 valid for 30days, u get :
Free 1GB is Fast Internet after finish those then the free 2GB speed capped at 64kbps kicks in wink.gif

If buy UMI30
2.5 GB is useable on 2G 3G and 4G (LTE), all 2.5GB is fast speed internet plus 30mins to all telco talk time!

RM30 - 3.5GB fast Internet + 30mins talk time! Goodness!!
*
the 30 minutes talk time if not finish can carry forward up to another 30 minutes....so accumulated month after month you might have 60 minutes talk time

Hi

Due to my trial run before porting from Maxis, I subscribed to UMI20. But now I am thinking to subscribe for UMI30 instead. So my UMI20 cycle finishing on May 12th. Do I need to unsubscribe first before subscribe UMI30, or I can simply purchase UMI30 and UMi20 will be cancelled automatically.

Thanks guys

Thank you for your explanation. I actually wonder if I can make the cycle date the same for freebies + UMI cycle. Referring to the shots below, I would like to change my cycle dates whether

Free highspeed freebies date and UMI highspeed date to be

both on the 10th

Or change both dates to any dates of my choice, for example let say 18th

Is this possible?

BTW CnY Garage@ What do you mean by - "u may enjoy discount reload from =)" biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

I believe there is one way to fulfill your wish ..... If I understand correctly, you can switch to the old prepaid plan and then switch back to the power plan and "reboot" everything on the day of your choice.

Best of luck.
*
good idea...thank you...but to make it less hassle, I think I will try to make it on the 10th, unsubscribe from UMI20 later, then subscribe to UMI30 on the 10th, do you think it will work? hmm.gif hmm.gif hmm.gif
