QUOTE(singk @ May 21 2015, 10:39 AM) hardly will be raya promo, as the car is selling like hot cake over here, and i do believe Bermaz didn't take in many stocks from Thailand as well.... (judging by the waiting time is not short due to lotsa documentation process once the car dock the port), it's kinda interest me if Bermaz wanna CKD this Mazda 2, though there won't be a huge price difference (since currently is thai made) but they will enjoy EEV incentive and probably the saving will be reflected in the car selling price, imagine a mazda 2 full spec selling for around 80K region all inclusive. Easily kill other B seg cars. They still have to evaluate whether the price for parts made locally is cheaper than parts made in Thailand. Labour cost, definitely cheaper compared to Malaysia. |

QUOTE(murasame85 @ May 22 2015, 09:10 AM) Aiyaa. Vness also give me RM1600 for coating 2 layer 9H Quartz 5 years warranty. 2 times free maintenance every 6 month. but techno said Ceramic Pro got better quality. now im asking Carzmo pulak. mana tau ada promotion. survey survey survey.. Some have good quality, but every follow maintenance need money, or DIY. While other might have average quality, but free maintenance every 6 months for X years. Ceramic Pro claimed "9H hardness", but in the end, my other car also got visible scratched, by someone else's jeans button at the buttocks. This post has been edited by RicoT: May 22 2015, 09:22 AM |

QUOTE(murasame85 @ May 22 2015, 09:34 AM) btw Chemgad do how many layer for RM1888? how many years warranty? thx for the info btw. Not sure about the layer of coating nor hardness, but the coating is just more or less like wax, and give hydrophobic effect.but Setia Alam quite far from my house... (not really that far compare to auto wizard at serdang haha) Chemguard offer 3 years warranty, every 6 months free maintenance touch up and wash car, any body panel need redo after repair is free too. What I meant to tell is there are average coating with free touch-up maintenance service, while some good/average coating requires one to pay for every maintenance every 6 months/1 year interval, else void warranty. Some even need you to wash at their own shop only, every 1 or max 2 weeks interval, if not void warranty. If I am not mistaken G'zox at Sunway was like that before, now don't know. So it is better to do survey and ask carefully. QUOTE(SIEWBAO @ May 22 2015, 09:52 AM) Bro, usually maintenance cost ard how much? I think I should also do coating after I get the car, but im from Ipoh. If possible free maintenance ba. Haha. Haha! Maybe at Ipoh have something like coating, else, don't bother about it and do the "wax and polish" style. Coating isn't any good in protecting paint, it still scratch if someone butt is too big to fit the gaps between your car and theirs in parking lot. And the open door whacking will still make a dent on the paint. This post has been edited by RicoT: May 22 2015, 11:45 AM |

QUOTE(SIEWBAO @ May 22 2015, 12:01 PM) Yes, but there is a limitation to the protection given. There will be scratches, just an additional layer add to it. E.g. if the scratch is 10 micron deep, and your clear layer above the paint is 5 micron thick, 5 - 10 = -5, it will eats additional 5 micron into the paint. But with another layer of coating on top of the clear layer, say 6 micron, so the scratch is 6 - 10 = -4, it eats 4 micron into the clear layer, sparing the paint layer. That's all...The harder the coating (hardness level), the harder the scratching material and more force needs to scratch through it. With enough force, it will still form scratch. It is not 100% scratch resistance, it offer extra layer protection, but not total protection from scratch. Example, the sharp tip of a key or diamond ring will still scratch through the coating, just the coating absorbs some of the scratching force and won't eats through it. Want 99% protection from scratch, get a diamond layer. |

Dear new owners,
Do you feel your car is more bumpy when you get the car? That is because the new Mazda 2 tyre pressure is pumped for maximum load capacity when it was delivered from the factory. Newly delivered car tyre pressure warm tyre 44psi front, 52psi rear. If you are driving alone or with less than 3 passengers (4 include driver), you should release the tyre pressure to the the lower values displayed on the sticker by the driver's door when you open the door. If you are driving with 4/5 passengers (with/without luggage), continue driving. Warm tyres +4psi (+30kPa) to recommend tyre pressure, meaning when dashboard temperature reading more than 32°C on dashboard and had driven a distance to the petrol station. |

Jim.tan, can you do me a favour? Could you ask your SC is it possible to install OEM cruise control into Mazda2? Specifically, a cruise control panel on steering wheel right column, wire harness and brake switch (if same then no need) from Mazda3 Hi Spec or CX-5 with cruise control. And does it requires additional programming to activate the cruise control lights on the dashboard. If this is possible, I believe it will help a lot of Mazda2 owners, and help boost more sales towards Mazda. It give buyers an option to upgrade cruise control at SC while retaining the current selling trim level, as not everyone needs it.

QUOTE(Jim.tan @ Jun 26 2015, 12:46 PM) Nope, SC won't be doing.. Cause even if they do gonna be very costly, have to add in module remove a lot of things and install back. Secondly have to change the steering wheel (which you gonna buy a new one with cruise) and they 100% won't trade it in for you. How costly is costly. Can they supply a part and price list of what item need to be added? Thanks. So overall conclusion is , they won't 😑 This post has been edited by RicoT: Jun 26 2015, 05:46 PM |

QUOTE(margafred @ Jun 28 2015, 09:30 AM) I have questions here This post has been edited by RicoT: Jun 29 2015, 01:41 AM- Do you guys leave the AC and fan toggle to on all the times (no need to off it even when off the car)? If what my SA told me, i don't need to toggle off the AC and fan like what i always i did in my old Iswara before when i off the engine, unless if i misunderstood his context Yes, I leave it on at 25°C and Auto mode for fan. The car will start the car without aircon, then start low to slowly blow out the hot air inside, so you won't get blasted by hot air right away (and no point switching aircon fan to max because the aircon is not cooled down yet. - If not using iStop, can i set the gear to N every time during stop and D again when want to move? (used to free the gear when car stop in heavy jam, and resume gear again when want to move in my old Iswara). You can use either these two methods, press the brake harder in D to activate i-Stop, or switch to N to activate i-Stop. Remember to check the battery water level (if using factory fitted battery) every 1.5 or 2 months to ensure enough water is in it, as frequent i-Stop will use up the battery water much faster (one owner claimed to filled 1/3 of the petrol station battery water after 80km saved from i-Stop usage). Fill it up until it reaches about 1" from the top cover, better 3mm below the batang (air vent) of the hole cover, if good estimation skill. NEVER fill to the brim, must leave about 1" air space between the top cover and water level. Overfill will cause battery water to shoot up and corrode your bonnet and surrounding metals. - How bad is the rain noise during heavy rain? Is it sound like heavy rain hitting zinc made roof? RM90k car, what kind of sound proofing one would expect? There will be loud sound during heavy rain if the rain drop is big enough, and it is the same as all similar segment cars, Vios, City, Almera, etc. There will be some areas lack behind. Want good sound proofing, get a luxury car. - Do you guys normally adjust your headlamp to 1 (flashing further ahead)? I think by default the adjustment was set to 5, which covers limited range of view on the road? Check tire pressure, I usually drive with less than 3 people in car, so I pump according to the pressure spec for 3 person, and set the headlight to 0. You need to set to 1 or 2 when you have full load at the trunk or full passengers behind with 3 person tire pressure spec. FYI, the higher the number, the lower and closer the headlamp beam. - Where do you guys put your tissue box? In the glove box, or buy the non-box type for less bulky if glove box is almost full. You can put in wet baby wipe tissue too. - Where do you guys normally put your Smart Tag? Behind the MZD infotainment pad? If not, is there any other location where i can put my tag and the toll sensor can detect it without any problem (like the small space on the left side of the infotainment toggler)? I use hand, but you can put a non-sticking non-slip mat behind the MZD display, make sure it is the black side is slightly tilted facing the front ~20°, not completely flat, to get better reception. You can rest the SmartTag on the back MZD display to get the angle. Thanks |

QUOTE(Johnlee0101 @ Jun 27 2015, 06:44 PM) My experience of driving M2 for 1 month are as follow: 1) Gear change is a bit slow for me (both up shift and down shift) but down shift is smooth. Normal drive mode are programmed to change to lower gears as soon as min rpm is achieved and car load is low (flatland); on uphill drive, the gears are delayed to allow more power to much the car. 2) Throttle is a bit light as well, not as linear as I would expected but definitely linear than most of the sushi car out there. Maybe our foot size is not long enough, it is designed to fit ang moh's foot size, so my foot only able to reach about 3/4 of the pedal when my heels rest on the base of the accelerator. The higher we can reach, the more control we have over the accelerator. 3) Handlling is great and steering is light so easier to maneuver around town. Agreed. 4) Interior is the best. Nothing to complain. Agreed. 5) Space is a major drawback. For us Asian size, if no one is at the rear seat, we can push the front seat further back, and I believe, it has the longest legroom when front seats are pushed all the way back, in this segment. Of course, Mazda2 is not a touring car (long distance car), it is a city car by European standard, intended for limited parking space and narrow city streets use. Long distance for rear passenger is not as comfortable than City (softer suspension but more roll in corners). 6) Engine is not as powerful as I imagine after reading most of the comment but it is sufficient. Press the accelerator pedal a bit harder to force the car to shift at ~3500rpm, the next gear will drop to about 2500rpm. Torque band for Mazda2 starts at above 2500rpm. Of course, turbo cars are more powerful and torquey, cannot compare NA and turbo in terms of power, unless Mazdaspeed comes out with a 12000rpm 1.5L race engine and put it in Mazda2/MX-5. Then we talk comparison. Overall I would give a 7/10 Same, if I can have the post-purchase option to install OEM cruise control, i-Sense, DRL headlamp, 6 airbags, I will give it 13/10. But now, I give 8/10 because DRL headlamp can be bought used but non-damaged condition from Japan crashed car parts auction for about RM2000, new one cost ~RM6000 a pair, plug and play no need wire cutting. Just my 2 cents. Cheers |

QUOTE(Johnlee0101 @ Jun 29 2015, 11:39 AM) Nice comment and advise you gave up there. Thank you very much. Are you comparing Mazda2 to Polo TSI and Fiesta Ecoboost? These cars have variable geometry turbo which the torque is much higher than natural aspirated (NA) cars (non-turbo) and the torque for VGT turbo cars kicks in as low as about 2000rpm and the band is very flat (meaning linearly accelerate all the way up the rpm after turbo kicks in, but if start from a stand still, you still can feel the power suddenly kicks in a short while later, or it is term turbo lag). Besides, they have DSG which may help in some ways as they shifting time is very short. We cannot compare turbo and NA cars directly as they both goes different design philosophy, turbo cars generate more black smoke when accelerate fast, while NA could burn cleanly climb up the rpm, and turbo cars are more maintenance intensive than NA car. From a mechanical standpoint, less moving parts, less problem. A direct comparison would be Polo CKD 1.6 and Ford Fiesta 1.5L (non-ecoboost).Regarding the foot size I dont fully agree as car like Passat also uses paddle bigger than Mazda paddle and I feel the acceleration is much more linear compared to mazda. Even polo and fiesta has better throttle control. I did drag the car more than 3k rpm but I still don't feel that much of power in it but it is definitely better than city, vios and etc. I find the gear will only change after it hits 2k or sometimes 2.5k rpm even being light footed on a flat road. I not quite sure it is my car problem or is it normal? Because the car that I drove previously shifted at 1.5k rpm on average. PS: I'm still think M2 is a good car but just that I expected more after watching most of the review. From my interpretation of the Skyactiv-G 1.5L torque band, you can feel the rpm climbs sharply after 2500rpm to 6500rpm, and when in sports mode, you can feel the clutch in the torque converter engages very fast, maybe just a few hundred microseconds longer than DSG maybe? But we casual driver don't really feel this tiny amount of time difference. |
