QUOTE(theaxia @ May 22 2016, 04:45 PM) The yi cam now able to function as dashcam.. Only had to manually turn on and start recording before start driving. I guess its better than collecting dust at home lol. You can install a script to your sd card that will auto record once camera switched to ON. Look for it here http://nutseynuts.blogspot.my/2015/06/xiao...cripts.html?m=1Take out the battery if you use the camera for dashcam as the heat can destroy the battery.

Hey guys. I took a timelapse of 6 seconds earlier but when I try to view it in the app, the loading wheel just keeps spinning. It's been 5 minutes now. Is this normal?

Good share.. although it still require the cam to be turn on after 5v supply connected. I still want to use it for a normal selfie when i go jalan jalan, right now when use as dashcam, i just hang the yi remote at car signal stalk..

Buy 2 sd card, one for dashcam and one for normal use. Install the autorec script at the sd card for dashcam use. Just change sd carf for different purposes.

QUOTE(theaxia @ May 25 2016, 04:35 PM) Isnt the script will embedded to the firmware? The autorec script is to be copied to the root of your sd card. When you switch on the camera, it will affect the changes. Switch OFF and Change to other sd card without the autorec file and switch on again, you can use the camera like normal. Do read the details in the website.

finally manage to live view my yi from desktop pc wirelessly for the fix calibration purposes. you guys may refer here for the apps that help to connect it wirelessly. https://dashcamtalk.com/forum/threads/xiaom...-lin-mac.11206/i know micro HDMI to HDMI might be handy, but i didnt have any. bear in mind there are few miliseconds delay while adjusting

Too close, youll lose distant object, too far, youll lose selfie length pic..

there is no perfect solution for where to set focus. You have to make some sacrifice. Either close up gets perfect and loose the background or background is perfect and you loose foreground.. Recommended is the middle .. but you get middle results too..
Unfortunately there is no focus ring on this unit. In the old film days pre autofocus.. we call that hyper focusing.. and shoot knowing you get it somewhere there if the subject is within the focus zone..
