if sea water, you need to wash out all the salt water or it will cause mineral deposit on the circuit and cause shorting out.. Remove the battery first is the first task followed by a rinse in distilled water.. if only drips, isopropal alcohol can also do the job.. Do note the lens module as it may trap water in there..

Best to use a dry box for a couple of days..

obvious exposure problem. Remember the camera has a fix aperture so there is a limit to what you can achieve.. The metering you select will create wrong reading esp when there are lots of strong bright light close by.. The lens is ultra wide so flare ca become the second issue.. A lens hood in such a case can help out a bit..

Yes, for second pix you need to reduce the ISO.

try and shoot from the same location - best on tripod if you want to do comparison.. Help to reduce variables and will give you a more accurate comparison..

just to share my experience when I decide to get the Yi while I was in Beijing. No you cannot get them from the shops and you need to mail order them using their online system.. Lucky for me, someone was kind enough to help me get a unit.. Unless you have lots of time to ensure delivery best to avoid and save you all the headache..

that is an aluminium frame protect.. There are about 4 versions around.. I just ordered a slightly higher end version for US20/- from Aliexpress. I think the same version you are looking for is under US10/-

I pick the more expensive version because i can attach a protection filter on it.. I find the lens get smudge too easily..

For those that have damage the lens . there are replacement units out there too for US15/-

no more like splsh proof. it has a silicon rubber skin to act as holder but the buttons are not covered.. perhaps we will see some add on in that area eventually.. also the remote can only mount onto the original selfie stick. Kind of sucks because there is no keyhole for you to secure it as is without fearing of loosing it.. my 2 cents worth..

Otherwise it is sweet as is..

One other issue I had with the original selfie stick - the plastic clip that secure the remote breaks too easily - manufacturing defect base on injection stress lines I see on the broken part. Not really an issue but not good to sell defective parts...

there are many factors.. insufficient light could be contributing factors.. best to take under good lighting outdoors first then decide what is really the issue..

I did a 70 minute continuous recording.. files are broken up into 5 minutes and an extra short low resolution video which I deleted off. I was using a Kingma 1100ma battery and there was still still power left after that. In fact I did a 15 minute recording prior to that.. Each file is 0.5GB

What i did was join them using a free software - Avidemux.

so long as the power banks are properly rated - showing the totoal power it has it will be ok but there is a limit to how many to you can take on board.. They have become extremely fineky over such issues.. they may write one thing but do another and you will not have much say over it -- even though you may be 100% correct and they are 100% wrong in their judgement.. they still have the final say eventually..

yes it is only for dry use.. you will need a waterproof case if you intend to take it for a swim.

Most imoirtant to me is the lens is protected.. I dont like the waterproof shell because the box front lens will get scratch easily.. this one - i just replace the filter and I can keep it protected when not in use with a lens cap.

Dont get carried away with all the extras... most of them you will never use it.. Stay focus on your needs and you will be fine..

Want to ask, have your guys fix ur XiaoMi lens focus issue ? What type of glue that you use to glue back after tune the lens ?
*
I did not need to fix mine either.. in fact i did and reverted after testing..

best to use hot melt glue .. just be careful not to use too much and not to get it anywhere near the lens.. DONT EVER use superglue.. best is hot melt glue.. you best apply with applicator and not direct to prevent any accidents with the glue stringing over the lens.. I did not glue mine back... just left as is..

The lens wont run away ?

No unless you try really hard.. The movable part is in the inner section, and unlikely it will move. If you press the lens hard and turn it - it may move or subject the camera to continuous vibration -- perhaps it will move eventually..

you can plug your power bank and run the camera at the same time.. if you are really concern about not wanting to take along extra battery..

But best not to do any charging via the camera.. accidents can happen and damaging the small plug.

Dont get carried away with the add on and accessories.. Most of the time you dont need them. Primary issue is how to keep your lens protected from damage and free from finger marks and dust.. The lens is small so any dirt on it is a big problem.. When you are on the move, getting a clean lens cloth at hand is not often handy.. Having a filter in front is helpful. You can choose to carelessly wipe it with any clean cloth at hand and not worry.. Worst case you just replace the filter.. I know replacement lens is about the same cost as a filter - that is provided you know how to replace it yourself.

Waterproof casing.. unless you really are getting it wet.. I will use it last in the list.. The front lens gets scratch easily plus finger prints on it..
