Forgot to add on, I prefer a more known brand and one that has international warranty. Budget perhaps 5 to 6k.

guys if we buy laptop that comes with original windows, is microsoft office included?

I use Dell at home and in office. My experience with it has not been good.
My own unit has a few keys which are not sensitive; the office unit has an over-sensitive touch pad.

But the good thing about Dell is: if you buy online, you can customize the specs.

1. Preferred Brand: Any, although Dell or HP is preferred.
2. Budget: RM2.5k to RM3.5k
3. Usage: multimedia, research simulations
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: 13-14". Then would be best if the laptop is light. Maybe <2kg ? Then battery life >6 hours of usage.

Isn't 8% huge difference in the long run? doesn't it run cooler since it has a new architecture? just wondering 

I have read some threads in other forum saying that after a few months, they experience some major lagging issues and USB hubs not working etc. and I read reviews on the UK Asus side, there were more than 50% negative reviews

I thought OC laptop GPU are not recommended since the power delivery on the Mobo are not designed for OC-ing and the power supply does not have a lot of headroom to OC?

I run my C code on linux sometimes 24/7 to simulate for my FEA so good cooling would be a plus since it pushes my CPU/ GPU to 100% at all 4 cores 8 threads. Gaming would be fine because it does not push it to the extreme conditions that I am about subject it to.
