Hello all, I want to ask for some recommendations for my next laptop. Expecting my current acer will die by new year.

1. Brand: leaning a bit more towards dell, lenovo and asus, but any reliable laptop will do.

2. Budget: rm1.5-2.5k. Preferably below rm3k including upgrades, antivirus, windows, warranty etc.

3. Usage:
-editing and drawing: photoshop, illustrator, gimp, mischief, paint tool sai
-games: mostly casual games like pvz, a few heavier games like nevermind
-downloading and watching movies

4. Screen size: 12"-15.6"

5. Extra:
- will be using tablet for editing work
- prefer the laptop to be as light and portable as possible. I already have ext dvd reader/writer, laptop with no dvd reader is okay with me
- longer batter life. I asked around and some say that 4 hrs is the max for laptop with heavy performance. Budget is negotiable for longer battery life plus good graphic card
- I guess for heavy editing work, i'll need 4-8gb ram?

Dell, others are OK. Just no Acer, very bad experience with them.

Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, movies, light gaming (if possible witcher 3 at low spec  ), general desktop replacement

15", 14" can also

The thing is, my previous was the Dell Inspiron 15R SE. It still works great but now finding potential replacement.
I not really follow what's new in computer hardware. So if can, recommend one that match or better the specs.

(Currently my Dell has 3rd gen i7 core, 8GB DDR3, full HD screen, mSATA thingy)

Thanks. Another sifu also suggested that model, or vostro 5480. Both with 4gb ram for my budget. If I add the ram to 8gb will it void the warranty?

2. Budget: RM5000
3. Usage: photoshop & illustrator once in a while, mostly for MS word
4. Prefer 13" ultrabook, good wifi and keyboard, SSD

Hmm, looking for a new laptop since my ancient Acer Aspire LCD screen died after 6 years, RIP. Will probably buy next month.

1. Preferred Brand: Prioritize reliability... can last ~5 years.
2. Budget: 2000, upwards to 2200 max
3. Usage: Work (priority), some gaming (mostly Sid Meier games, some Visual Novels, maybe some indie games like Transistor, etc, nothing huge like GTAV, etc)
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: 14 inches and higher

My old laptop was an i3 with Intel Integrated HD 2000, so probably ANYTHING will be a huge upgrade... but hey, I managed to play Borderlands 2 with it ^^;;

Guys, is ASUS ROG GL551JW a new laptop? I don't see any store selling it yet. I'm in a pinch right now as I'm looking for a budget gamming laptop that's below RM4k (Or lower than 4k) and ive found ASUS ROG GL552JW vs GL551JW. I'm mainly using it for college uses but im also a gamer so I prefer something powerful and LIGHT WEIGHT for convenience.

OO thought I could get cheaper here but I found a cheaper 1 in Digital Mall
