you're @ Defcon?

hmm i think i'll go with illegear bah, illegear will be better than Asus ROG rite, correct me if i'm wrong..

I need help with the following regarding illegear parts :
1) WiFi : Which is better? Intel Dual band AC7620 or Reatletk 8723BE?

2) 500GB Seagate SSD or Free upgrade to Toshiba 1TB Solid State Hybrid Drive?

if i choose Toshiba 1TB SSHD, can i use my current 128GB SSD? not sure isit mSata or not, but its inside my Asus N56VZ's DVD rom drive with a jacket.

3) Can I use my Windows 7 license from my old laptop n56vz?
*
its IT conference....

yes... illegear is better than asus..
1- that intel dual band is better
2-ssd might be expensive.. but little storage... 1tb is hybrid hdd + cheaper a bit than ssd + extra storage...
mSata is another technology that boost up the storage.yes, u can use ur ssd...
3-if not mistaken... yes it can. because its a genuine lisence... but make sure its the same OS (home premium, pro, ultimate)

QUOTE(BlizzardCraft @ Aug 3 2015, 01:26 AM)
Thanks for the advise, I think i'll visit their store tml smile.gif btw I saw they have killer WiFi for other models, killer WiFi and Intel dual band, whats the diff a?
Yea lo was wondering, they summore put free upgrade to 1TB sshd as a promotion
I think i'll take the ssd and then salvage my old computer d hdd and put inside
*
Killer WIFI hv lots of good benifits
-usually use for high-performance networking adapters combine intelligence, control and superior wireless networking speed for online games, HD video, and high quality audio.
-support dual bands (2.4 GHz and 5GHz)
-improve latency and jitter offering significant benefits over competing wireless adapters
-deliver higher data throughput rates over longer distances.
-offers Bluetooth connectivity to offer the most flexible solution for high-performance networking.

dual band just a normal card... cant fight killer wifi..

if da ssd/hdd in old computer still good.. can take it... even ram also.. if its ddr3. yes.. still can use..

thanks for the input sifu  biggrin.gif
weird that they dont have the killer wifi option for the z5, ltr i go ask them and see..

btw as for the graphic card, is it worth to invest the extra rm799 for the upgrade from GTX960 4GB DDR5 to GTX970 3GB DDR5

it seems there's a significant difference base on the bench mark test
http://gpuboss.com/gpus/GeForce-GTX-970M-vs-GeForce-GTX-960M
they provide d is crucial M550 mSata SSD 256 GB for rm569 , 256GB ssd or gtx970 graphic card  hmm.gif
*
yes... 970m performance is much more than gtx960m... if intense fps gaming.. batman, gtx v... witch.. damn gooding.. can say.. mid-end for high range card.. 3Gb is more than enuf for gaming external monitor... which have ips display..

storage... next time can upgrade laugh.gif

gtx970m will consume more electric compare to 960m? haha will effect electric bill? yawn.gif
*
laugh.gif cz..u dont play much dat games.. so... kinda wasting if not fully utilised it.. even my hd6970... for few years back still can play cs:go, dota2, skyrim at ultra setting with good fps.. and some more, its nvdia.. since current games now is favor to nvdia.. so.. i think gtx960m can last up to 6 years... take good care & it will be ok thumbup.gif

QUOTE(xperiaDROID @ Aug 4 2015, 08:48 PM)
Hi, which is better?

Asus X554LJ or X550DP? The X554LJ has Intel Core i5 with Nvidia GT920M, but a seller in Lowyat Plaza recommended me the X550DP with AMD A8 with AMD Radeon Dual Graphics? Which should I go with for the long journey? The seller offered me similar price for both laptops with upgrade to 8GB RAM included.

The important things are, whether it can run GTA V with no issue and has good battery life or at least acceptable for a Windows laptop. Please help. Thanks.
*
x550DP is quad core and mid end range graphics.. its much better than intel gt920m, i think same dual radeon = gt940m.. but, i bet... might drain battery since it is A8 processor, same as intel quad core i7.. i have hp with same specs.. as latest games, its better to get nvidia card... nowdays games, nvdia card really advantage.. due to their monopoly in games industry.. kinda dirty competition if you read nvdia scandal... laugh.gif

Hi there, I need some suggestion :

1. Preferred Brand - Any, prefer if it has a good after sale services
2. Budget - RM3,4k Max
3. Usage - For Study at Uni  + Gaming ( Dota 2 mostly) + watch youtube
4. Preferred screen size - 13 - 15

I prefer mobile and not easy to overheat notebook cause I'm a heavy user (use laptop a lot).

Thank you
*
max 4k? then, dota 2 mostly.. either you will get Dell 7447 14" gtx850m or Asus GL552 gtx950m...
even asus is not that good for sale services but, you can consider it... the product is reliable just warranty is the problem.

while dell is 14" but the sales service is superb.

if you can stretch up to 4.2k.. you can get Illegear z5. (not forcing, if only if) but it just freeDos. that is best bangs for bucks. with gtx960m + good heat disperse... its a beast machine laugh.gif

there is lenovo y50 with gtx960m within your budget. if want consider lenovo. take the y50 with gtx960m. as 860m suffering a certain of issue.

Looking for a portable system. Any recommendation beside these two?

Asus ZenBook UX305 or Microsoft Surface 3.
*
microsoft surface 3 is expensive than zenbook + it has better processing power.

meanwhile zenbook have low processing power processor M in order to increase battery life. supported with ssd make it reliable enough to do everyday computing. just that, it might not be suitable become tablet. its not convertible notebook like surface 3.

how much is your budget? if you plan not using it as a tablet... then, zenbook. if you want it to be tablet... then get surface 3
