QUOTE(pzhan10 @ Aug 3 2015, 07:36 PM) The graphic card is powerful enough to run every game in the market. But the settings for every game should be vary. You can go ultra for certain games but medium for others. Depending on the graphic demanding. However, you can always get a good laptop cooler pad. Shouldn't be much problem to go for a long hours gaming. Hehe |

QUOTE(BlizzardCraft @ Aug 3 2015, 07:33 PM) windows 10 cost $119 estimated. If it were me, I'd get Windows 8.1 and upgrade sometime around Q2 of next year, before the upgrade option expires. Microsoft should have ironed out most of the bugs by then. Even if they haven't and you decide to stick to Windows 8.1, it wont be too much of a loss since it's a good OS by itselfmeans if i get windows 8.1 (rm309) , then upgrade later on, more worth lo? @_@ or stick to window 7 trials, upgrade to 10 in the future once it's stable. which would u advise? |

QUOTE(DS_Legacy @ Jul 28 2015, 05:27 PM) For Lenovo G series, you can check out this one. It comes with two different screen size. Perhaps you would like the 14" one. I went to check a few of these models out and right now I'm leaning more towards the Lenovo U41-70 & G40-80.Lenovo G40-80 80E400-G5MJ 14" Laptop/ Notebook (i7-5500U, 1TB, 4GB, AMD R5 M330, W8.1, 2.5kg) RM2,402/- Lenovo G50-80 80E502-6DMJ 15.6" Laptop/ Notebook (i7-5500U, 1TB, 4GB, AMD R5 M330, W8.1, 2.5kg)RM2,402/- Lenovo Z series usually come with a 15.6'' screen. But the following model seems to fit your requirements other than the screen size. So, do check it out too. Lenovo Z50-70 59442164 15.6" Laptop/ Notebook (i7-4510U, 1TB, 4GB, NV GT840, W8.1, 2.4kg) RM2,522/- Also came across the HP Pavilion 14/15 series when I was surveying and they look pretty okay too, still reconsidering. Any opinions on the HP Pavilion series? Sorry for asking so many questions |

As a HP user, they have good after sale service (send straight to their HQ) and good quality but might be more pricier than normal. Sorry for asking so many questions Am using my 4 year old DV6 and still going strong. Just updated to Windows 10 This post has been edited by AthrunIJ: Aug 3 2015, 11:12 PM |

QUOTE(BlizzardCraft @ Aug 3 2015, 09:06 PM) btw the OS of laptops are binded permanently to it already rite, my old laptop's windows 7 license key cant transfer to this new d rite. jz to clarify Nope, unless its OEM and came pre-installed originally as that would mean it's bound to your notebook's motherboard. Even so, there are grey-ish (legally speaking) ways around that such as calling Microsoft directly and asking them to reactivate the key. With a valid excuse, they'll reactivate the key and you'll be able to use it on a different notebook. However, if you buy/bought a separate version of Windows then you can reuse that key however many times you want on different machines. Of course only one machine will be able to activate the key at a time, but you will be able to transfer the OS installation to your next notebook should need to do so. QUOTE(BlizzardCraft @ Aug 3 2015, 09:06 PM) and for ssd vs hdd, the only difference will be speed of launching the program right, as for performance it depends on the processor and gpu? Generally yes. SSDs tend to make your system feel extremely responsive and boost loading times greatly when compared to old school HDDs. This is mainly due to their exceptional random read/write performance that is unparalleled by mechanical parts. and if I install OS on SSHD, and games on ssd (due to low space, many games). it won't work d rite? So, keeping games on a HDD is perfectly acceptable as you wont see much of a gain in performance if you installed it on your SSD. At best you'll load games quicker, but not enough to warrant using up your SSD's precious space. Keep other stuff, such as your web browser and commonly used programs on the SSD instead and you can expect your notebook to be usable under 15 seconds (or less) from a cold boot. Hope that helped |

QUOTE(BlizzardCraft @ Aug 3 2015, 11:44 PM) I'm not too sure, but I think you'll run into problems accessing full functionality. That being said, you can extend the trial period with a simple command line prompt a few times. All in all, it's just a stopgap solution and you'll be wanting a legit copy of Windows sooner or later |

If you have more budget, opt for the HP Pavilion 14/15 series! They definitely provide much better after sales service compare to Lenovo. And no worries about asking questions. Laptop is ain't cheap. It's wise to do more research before buying one. Also came across the HP Pavilion 14/15 series when I was surveying and they look pretty okay too, still reconsidering. All in all, it's just a stopgap solution and you'll be wanting a legit copy of Windows sooner or later Hmm.. If i use Windows 7 trial, can I upgrade to Windows 10 straight through online?(By paying for Windows 10 license) Cuz the rm400 I decided to invest in the ssd first, then ltr i saved enough d I will buy the OS.. If I do this another way round, it would be troublesome to transfer the OS into the ssd in the future. Or will there be lots of hassle moving to Windows 10 from Windows 7 trial?(Eg: reformatting ) Hence I'm considering the trial version. Sry I ask so much haha..kinda new to computer stuff |

Theoretically, you could pay for a Windows 7 key then perform the free upgrade to Windows 10 before the promotion window (no pun intended) closes. That would probably be a cheaper method than buying a Windows 10 key direct. However, due diligence is required to ensure that method would actually work. I don't want to be responsible for you wasting money unnecessarily... I suppose getting keys will be increasingly hard since Windows 7 is getting pretty close to its EOL period. So, cheap Windows 8.1 key then? I think there are some for sale in the Garage Sales section of the forums. Not sure if they're OEM copies though.base on what illegear salesman told me |

Or the trial extension up to 120days is available to Windows 7 only? |
