Whether it's Acrylic or Lacquer it's not good to spray inside room/home, people do it in open air like Balcony or Garden, even if it's non-Hazardous you don't want the paint smell staying in the house. People who do in room have special ventilation.
When we say hazardous we mean when you spray and the paint mist gets inhaled. A 3M respirator is always a good choice even if you spray outside, and also a protective eye glass since the mist can irritate the eyes.
If you are painting frequently just buy a Compressor & Airbrush. Bottled Mr.Clear Coat are cheaper than Cans they have Gloss & matte & you can mix.
BTW most canned paint you find outside are Lacquer or Enamel both are hazardous, Mr Color Top Coat only the Blue cans are Acrylic, white cans (Super) are Lacquer. Most Primer are Lacquer.

I still use MR top coat for finishing, but I just want to use cheaper alternative for coloring
Will try your method if the sun comes out this weekend!
If it is hazardous I might need to stop using them though, expecting a baby
