Hi all fraghead, anyone tested potion royal black, cartier declaration dun soir and annick goatal nuit de etoilee before? Not sure which one to go for
*
Haha very vast choice of taste you got there.

Royal Black is more like dark rose then pair with leather and tobacco, quite heavy

Nuit de etoilee i have zero experience before so cant really comment

however Cartier Declaration d'un soir is my fav designer masculine rose scent. Fresh rose with black pepper. rock solid performance and very sexy on man coz it is very elegant, and it is better than it's more niche counterpart - Le Labo Rose 31

Trust me when it comes to rose based scent tongue.gif

My Sotd - Hermessene Osmanthe Yunnan

This is my fav floral tea scent. Orange, Appricot, Osmanthe petals

Tis is the scent that gotten me into Hermessene line as it is light and airy but it lingers around me the whole day. the hotter the weather the merrier it gets, fruity floral tea is i can say.

Haha ur scent so not ngam with the christmas deco, not piney no turkey lol

Today thinking of wearing something aquatic and tada

Attached Image

Unlike the mass market aquatic that made up of calone, citrus, fruity, watery, this follow another route where it rejuvenate the realism of actual beach where the brine sea breeze, salty ocean waves hitting on the rocks, sweaty from being under the sun

And if you ask me what is this smell like? I will say it is like walking along the shoreline nearby a fishing village

i no more budget lol.. jealous you all get to wear all these jasmine scents, me n my finance minister cannot get past the indolic face of it dont even say the carnal animalic side of jasmine.

This does make me remember when we were at hong kong and have the chance to try all the xerjoff, youtube reviewers are crazy abt this al khat. and i did forget on dont ever believe those ang mo noses experience, i spray it and my finance minister was so furious and dun wan me to get close to her, well i also wan to choke and vomit rclxub.gif the oud and jasmine... my advise if you think that dior leather oud is oledi very modern day animalic, then stay away from most of the oud-star line of xerjoff

especially......ZAFAR lol but if you want to let a girl that have a crush on you leave in you peace, bring her out for a date and wear zafar as your sotn icon_rolleyes.gif

Im gonna get Ambre Nuit and Bois d'argent first from dior for next year haul. these 2 magnificent scents are perfect match for dressed up guys

SOTD: Went out to sample Sahraa Oud, by Fragrance Du Bois. RM2500+ for 50ml. They claimed to use "100% organic vintage oud oil." I definitely love it.

I'm going to sample all of Xerjoff Stars this Monday and probably going to end up purchasing one. Stay tuned  rclxms.gif

Good luck with your baby, you need to puasa many things after having a baby  biggrin.gif
Thank you  biggrin.gif

Fulamak... big boss!! But Xerjoff here quite cheap compare to hk. Nio going for 780 wtf... daylight robbery. And oud star 960

Me too so damn close and tempted to grab both lira and mamluk on Saturday when me and gf were doing Christmas shopping at Gardens at fragrance du bois fair. They are going to have a permanent counter inside Robinson jor...

My gf gave me a dun play with me eyes stare and threaten to throw my other bottles if i whack these 2 beautiful gourmand.

Fragrance du bois they have their own oud farm even though they can give 25% discount still way over the limit for me to spend on one single bottle somemore their oud are quite medicinal depending on ur taste.

Agree with you bro.
Most of i hear and review on Montale are abt their oud notes creation.
Not sure abt their sea scent / notes...  So far,I haven't explore Montale line-up.Probably any other forumer can share their experience and review  wink.gif
Was looking around and explore Xerjoff, Clive Christian or Roja nx year..
Or probably any British perfume house ; Penhaligon's  hmm.gif
*
Montale and me no no the oud too kaw for my liking. Clive christian and roja share one thing in common they like to make chypre. And that botak now targeting those arabic by releasing more oud and dubai exclusives and clive christian taking its time to create something from the past and just time for it to go oud lol

Penhaligon not my style of house for my liking. Juniper sling breaks my heart lol

Unfortunately, I did not buy any Xerjoff today. I wanted try Zafar, and ready to purchase if I like it. They don't have a tester bottle to try. Too expensive to blind buy.
The crown jewel of the Oud Stars collection, Zafar going for RM900 after discount. Good deal?

I love medicinal oud, it gives the fragrances its 3rd dimension feels. I've narrow down two Fragrance Du Bois that I like:

1) Oud Orange Intense - Smooth Vanilla + Oud. There's nothing 'orange' about it.  Gourmand, and oud. Very strong silage and longevity.
2) Oud Noir Intense - Spices, medicinal oud, musk, flowery (jasmine, and very light rose).

Agree, it's too expensive. Even if it's a real Oud, but we're talking about cultivated, planted oud. Not the well aged oud.

But err I end-up purchasing something biggrin.gif

I no longer keep in touch with joey. After all the hoo-ha, he's decided to retire from this thread. I guess people come, people go. I'm no sifu and pioneer lah. I only joined in v3.
*
Haha bro u truely deserved the title of sifu lo given the plenty insightful reviews on the vintage scents and ur vast spectrum of olfactory taste.

I respect u fully. U r the most passionate perfumista i known.

has anyone tried Ultra Male Jean Paul Gaultier and Noir Extreme Tom Ford
*
Haha I prefer Ultra Male over the ori Itu Lelaki. Ultra male have this very sweet bubblegumish vibe, unless u find one million kind of things are your style then it is ok

TF Noir Extreme is totally different from TF Noir. Noir Extreme have this sweet beautiful vanilla dessert scent which is quite subtle and well done

Best is still try it out urself biggrin.gif

FragranceNet.com you mean? They don't ship to Malaysia unfortunately.

This is Fragrantica's official giveaway page :-
- http://www.fragrantica.com/news/FragranceN...EAWAY-7357.html

I happen to be wearing one of them today - Cool Water by Davidoff. Godfather of all aquatics and poor man's Green Irish Tweed.
*
It is very accurate to say it is a poor man GIT. I have both and the divergence of the similarity start to show once mid notes appear, GIT maintains its green verbena coolish vibe while CW going to be smell like a typical men cologne

Exactly! I can't resist the temptation as they make patchouli such a fine smooth fragrance, that's blow me away when i sniffed it. As i am fan of Thierry mugler, this refine ver. of patchouli really really make me itchy. But my financial minister with me yesterday shocking.gif ....so....ouch!
*
Precisely!!! so sad.. she dont let me buy!! if not i will be hugging my Lira to bed everyday

I also tried Lira! I like it so much as well...RM700+ but after dry down i feel like it share similarity with dior homme intense rclxub.gif
*
Haha i did not get the signature drydown of DHI, the closest similarity they share is the vanilla note.

To me it has the most intense caramel note that i never imagine. incorporate so well with the blood orange, cinnamon all the gourmand notes.

But then the versatility and when and where to wear Lira, this really make me scratch my head.

If for work and any official formal occasion - Dhajala

Versatile neroli - Nio

to go well with suit and tie - Ibitira

My heart really want to just go there whack all these beauties and dun care abt my finance minister but there goes our mutual respect and she will not listen to anything i say edi going forward.

might slowly persuade her to allow me to get at least either Nio or Ibitira

Luck you my bro.. Share your unbox the perfume.. Btw,What's your purchase?  hmm.gif  hmm.gif

Haha my christmas present

My sotd : Xerjoff Nio

This is undoubtedly the king of citrus. Opening has this super intense combination of mouth-watering neroli n bergamotte

The citrus opening is so real and natural which last and last and last which for me have exceeded my expectation of citrus opening dont last.

Then drydown morph into spicy woody vetiver.

Xerjoff under fragrance du bois really competitively priced and cheaper than hong kong. And overtake neroli portofino as my fav citrus scent. And cheaper too than 50ml tom ford private blend

And this have spoil my nose coz after i ever finish this bottle i will still fall back to another bottle of nio lol

I also tried casamoratti mephisto. Fragrantica reviews that similar to creed silver mountain water so i mah try and see first spray reminded me of Sospiro Allegro super class smw

After the 25% discount it's only RM585. That's a steal! Essenza-nobile is selling around RM780 too (167.23 EUR) excluding shipping.
*

Thats the steal and daylight robbery... But sad things is the sales are over...  shocking.gif
So mean any purchase are going to full retail price.
*
Haha even full retail price i also willing to pay

The full client engagement to the actual perfume packaging is way better than some of my perfume shoppinh experience.

And no nid to worry parcel tahan kat kastam. And for me its all abt the experience

This thread is too fast for me to keep up. Humblest apologies for not replying. Congrats on the Xerjoff purchase. My office is in Midvalley / The Garden, imagine how hard it is to stop buying new fragrances every now and then. I walk passed luxury items, promotional roadshow on daily basis. Fragrance Du Bois is now at Robinson. Yeah the serum pen is probably not worth to get. No alcohol means bad projection, generally. But if you want to buy Oud Noir, there's 15ml travel version of it which cost RM400.

I should keep myself away from this thread now biggrin.gif
*
Haha ok la that is why there is an hidden advantage for go high end niche ie you will really think twice or thrice before whacking and even whack also 2-3mths baru satu botol

So u bought the travel spray?
