SOTD - my long bench warmer Eau des Baux from L'Occitan since today is rainy day. At first my gf say this smell like Tobacco Vanille when i tried out TV at Bangkok Siam Paragon. So i decided to wear EdB since the scent profile of TV still fresh on my mind.

Guess what, it is 80% identical to my noob nose. the remaining 20% is just TV amp up the spices and vanilla in edb by 300% make it very rich and kaw

given now i have made the comparison, i treasure my Edb even more..

This is one of the Aventus copies in the market in the niche market ie Cedrat Boise, Bond no9.com, etc. Lol as long as any of the fragrance out there has pineapple note will surely be compared to Aventus or ask is this similar to aventus lol

Now we all know Bond No 9 is a mainstream niche with super brash price tag and they did copied several ideas of the well received frags in the market ie Green Irish Tweed, Silver Mountain Water, etc. But this one day they decided to buy all the aventus from creed which customer complaint the batch where they dont get the smoky birch and leather and emphasis on the unreal pineapple opening make it loud, project, smooth and last on The Scent of Peace for Him.

This is what my nose pick up after wearing this bowtie for 2 straight days. 4 sprays in the morning and i still get the pineapple at 7pm. i prefer this because even without the smoky birch drydown thus does not feel dirty, TSOPFH is masculine with bond's standard musk.

and the packaging and bottle blew aventus away. I hate you bro Marver for selling me one of this Bond Aventus

I was this damn thin line close to own Creed's Jardin d'Amalfi when our trip to bangkok and ended up empty handed. Basically i am surprised there are more niches in Bangkok vs Malaysia. Namely Tom Ford Private Blend, Creed's Royal Exclusives etc. 120ml of Aventus was around 8000baht after tourist discount and Royal Exclusive is priced at 20k baht

Anyway, we are planning our next annual trip to HK

IMO, HK is any frag head's heaven. Finger crossed our rate will stabilized around 50 then at least 1:2 still not that bad. Have check with my friend who works at Kilian HK have the city exclusive available worldwide already? If do then i may wanna pick up Apple Brandy and Single Malt lol

Me - TF Grey Vetiver edt and Bond no 9 Scent of Peace. One is vetiver and one is pineapple lol, dunno why now prefer these scents that focus on a single note.

How does it smell like?

You get a very linear rose, vanilla, patch and oud. Rose and vanilla dominates and the oud is the smoky kind and u can only clearly see it after couple of hours. It resembles MFK's Oud Satin Mood which is more on the sweeter and heavier vanilla side then slowly fade out.

Performance? U get your money worth lol

Will i get it? Nope, and not because it is not a good scent. it just that i still have my By Kilian Rose Oud and 3 MFK's Oud silk mood spray samples and Gucci Oud. So i will let it pass but it is nevertheless a very good entry level for Rose oud combo

Price point wise it is on the entry niche level quite the drawback of this, other than that this is one of the best designer oud.

And since we are on the same context, try to score a tester of Amouage Epic Woman. This will blow your minds.

To me it is top note of Portrait of A Lady and slowly mixture of TF NdN. Spicy vanilla rose and oud.

This is why i hesitate to get PoAL and TF NdN

Aqua Universalis forte and aqua vitae forte are top notch summer scent, one being a fresh clean steam white linen bathed with white floral and citrus, the latter just makes u think twice to spent huge amount on luxury citrus scent.

Anyway you can try out Versace Pour homme oud noir, it is quite similar to Oud wood.

The new greyish flacon version of oud wood quite disappoints. It is one of the deep sensual scent, or you can opt for MFK oud

Since today whole day meeting my sotd must be more subtle and formal. You all sure guess i will be wearing my grey vetiver again rite hehe then you all are wrong.

Before i reveal it, i want to say it took me quite sometime to find my signature lavender. But i did not go up n down to hunt down all the lavenders in the market so im still noob.

I dont like my lavender to remind me of aromatherapy or laundry detergents or burnt sweet licorice hence i dont like hermesessence brin de regalise, penhaligon endymon, etc then rive gauche ph began to prove me wrong. Star anise, lavender smell like shaving cream clean and masculine then amouage ciel man where the lavender got a touch of citrus and incense.

However it is kilian's a touch of heaven that blows my mind with its green absinthe anisic characteristics paired together with a sweet vanilla and lavender. Just like the name implies, im in heaven when i wear this for formal event

Solid line, italian bergamotte is modern acqua di parma colonia, florentine iris is a beautiful play on iris, imo way better than the lipstick waxy iris of dior homme, sicilian mandrin is my fav of this line. Indon oud try to achieve the success of mixing both oud and rose but then to me it is neither here nor there. It does not have the jammy rose of rose oud and the oud of adp oud.

The rest i did not get to try. And then their new release acqua di bergamotte is a cheaper version of italian bergamot and minus the magnetic cap

Finally the sunshine Monday allows me to wear such a beautiful garden floral scent

Iris ukiyoe from hermesessence line. It is a watery scent, it doesnt last it doesnt project monsterly. But it is rich sweet mandarin combine with the buttery texture of the iris flower.

This is the iris for those who is not fan of waxy rooty lipsticks kind of iris.

Another iris that i love is by kilian's prelude to love but lets leave that for some other time then
