Thanks to bro izam that supply the decant of TF tuscan leather to poison me. Haha. Actually just want to tryout the purchase process from oversea and how long it take. I did same thing for graphic cards too.
Maybe try get decants of tobacco vanille or noir de noir from ebay australia next .

Sauvage is great on sillage and longevity, did not spray too heavily to officially try out the longevity. Not too fond of the scent in general so just let go.

You know lah, everyone need to try iphone and decide if it is worth the price, same with fragrance.

Nice! Congratulation on your new haul. BTW, how much is the retail price in KL?

I've also restocked Eau Sauvage Parfum and Dior Homme (still has one bottle left). Both are tester bottles. Got good deals from one LYN seller and my.bestbuy-world.com. Pictures will be uploaded soon.

SOTD - Dior Homme

You can get good price for TF tobacco vanille or any other niche perfumes in basenotes split/decants forum. They do ship to malaysia. My friend bought 20ml of TF tobacco vanille for rm210, include shipping. Well, thats kinda cheap for me. Haha. Compared to other seller

I sure hope it is less than what I paid Haha. Maybe someone who visited Isetan KLCC can inform.

I got a Tom Ford tester also from our mutual friend. unfortunately did not enjoy it too much. Might get Fahrenheit from him .

Really big thanks for your pointer. Registered a while ago on Basenote , revisited the forum just now. Good prices on Creed Aventus from a popular guy there, definitely will be giving him a PM for this King.

Two of the best masculine scents from Dior's mainstream line have arrived in the mail yesterday (restocked). Both still smell and perform the same (no reformulation). Today, I'm wearing another one of my absolute favorites from the designer line - PAPHI. Yes, you can tell that myrrh is one of my favorite notes in perfumes.

I got it from ethusis. Eau Savauge Parfum is hard to come by and he was so kind to reserve it for me. He was also my source for Amouage testers, which unfortunately are no longer available for purchase.

Haha, it was just perfect for a cool morning yesterday. Seems like many of us here bought from ethusis too. A highly recommended LYN seller. I only wished he could bring Amouage back.

I see a new fraghead in the making with interests on specific note, bravo to that! Yeah, vetiver has many facets depending on how the perfumer chose to use it (either from natural or synthetic). The best way is to get your nose on vetiver essential oil from one of those home aromatherapy stores.

The following guide should fill you in :-
- http://perfumeposse.com/2013/01/14/vetiver...etiver-perfumes

One of the best vetiver scents you can consider is Encre Noire by Lalique if you're on a tight budget as it smells very similar to the more expensive Sycomore by Chanel. It's not really my favorite as a main note in a perfume but I absolutely adore Eau Sauvage Parfum by Dior which I am wearing to work today. Affordable niche quality smell with excellent performance. Though it's simple composition (bergamot, vetiver and myrrh), it smells very complex and creamy smooth.

Wow! So many vetivers that I haven't tried yet. But agree with Tonney. Best bet is Encre Noire, similar to Chanel Sycomore but so much more cheaper. Another good one that don't get mentioned much is Montale's Red Vetyver. Super long lasting. Encre Noire also has long staying power.

Maybe my idea of vetiver has been shaped by these scents mentioned above so I don't think of Dior ESP as a vetiver scent.

hi everyone...do anyone can share any affordable vertiver base fragrance out there? where i can place my nose on to try out this fragrance? cause i cant really found any vertiver base fragrance in my place that i can snifft on..camt find it in sephora...wonder how it smell like...

reason being is i heard vertiver base fragrance was suitable as a work scent..and i currently looking for it...what i had found was tf grey vertiver or guerlain vertiver, which semm to have high compliment within fragrance community....

any thoughts on this? and do someone here offer ddecant for vertiver base fragance, please pm me...i am interested to try out some before i really get my hands on it.. thanks.

I can share with you some Encre Noire to try out first if you'd like. Also have the Guerlain Vetiver and Sycomore. There's one from Givenchy too. Can't think of anything else right now.

Hi All,

Wanna ask all fragrance expert here, can i come into conclusion that a fragrance is genuine as long as it meet the following:
-batch code same within the box and bottle
-No any defect on the bottle itself
-Batch code can be check and found online

Reason being was i recently purchase a fragrance from a shop in one of the shopping mall.
Fragrance i brought was Dior Homme Sport.
It was damn damn darn CHEAP!!! RM 150 for any 2 fragrance, so i end up getting this Dior Homme Sport on RM 75 only.

This price got lead me to suspect it was fake, or not genuine.
The box seem like a bit different with current Dior Homme Sport packaging. Not sure is it old version.
The only downside i notice was the cap was very loose.
But i check those details/batch code it seem all fine, the fragrance was manufacture on 2011-10.

I even got test this out on my skin, it longevity was considered superb for a sport fragrance, even though i need to over apply it. But it last 8 hours ++.
The smell should be the same as per ori, i got smell the tester at Sephora once, from my nose it should be same.

So it seem like a good deal for me and is a genuine product, but since i am still new in this, so wanna get some thoughts with all guru here laugh.gif

But my understanding if a fragrance was kept good, it still in good condition even it after the fragrance expired date.
And somemore nowadays lot of frangrance get reformulated until water down, so usually ppl will tend to get the vintage version?

i didnt have a chance to test the newer version of Dior Homme sport, but i definitely like what i purchased. STill a good bargain even if not authentic drool.gif
