How to distinguish? Does he has photo when screen off? Because 3ds is most obvious when screen off. One appear darker.

If only there are sample of difference.viewing angle. Judging by photo, it might be difference manufacturer for the IPS panel causing different white balance. Hope this is the case, just like some iPhone is more yellowish although still ips

The image if I'm not wrong was from NeoGaf. All Switch are IPS, don't worry about it.
That is just the system saturation/color temperature setting, which cannot be set, it has nothing to do with TN/IPS.
The person who shared the image in NeoGaf also mentioned both are indeed IPS, just the color temperature different.
