The most u can try to reload for RM100 or keep stock for few months.

No much u can gain if get more than that as it is better to use the money for other purpose instead if keep the reload for more than a year.

Time to go back to stone age.
Reduce phone calls will be the best way to cut our cost of living.
Like rm10 for 10 days, we drag it till 40 days then only top up again.
Don't use mobile internet.

Ok, I am seriously confused now.
The guidelines at the GST Custome website mentioned that Topup price will not be charged GST.

However, suppliers of Topup cards are telling dealers to charge the 6%.
RM10.00 -> RM10.60...etc

Then there are articles saying no changes to pricing even with GST!

So, which is which?

So, it will take them one month or so to solve this situation. When it can be done is just less than an hour.

Yeah, because 7 11 changed the system yesterday, but the announcement from the Ministry came later that the Telcos chooses [Topup amount] + 6%. And with that also giving 6% more airtime.

And today, the news is that they will take 1 month to sort this situation out.

nope, there is no double charging.. see the last footnote

•All prices are inclusive of GST. For Prepaid, GST has been paid upfront upon top up.

It is government requirement to show prices inclusive of GST.

The tax is strictly applicable to services likes calls, sms, umi, etc but is collected upon purchase of top up to avoid rounding issues. For international roaming charges, the tax paid upon top up will be credited back.

You'll pay RM31.80 for the top up, get RM30.00 credit and can buy UMI 30 with it. However, you need a few sen balance to make calls.

The issue is the GST for prepaid topup only.

Not for other things like call or data charges.

the gst is collected upon topup only

so your credit will only be deducted 3/8/10 sens

umobile quotes the charges as gst inclusive because the law requires so

Well its normal for a Malaysian telco to stall as long as possible. You know, they want to suck as much $$$ from the rakyat first. What's wore is that after raking in so much money, the service of the big 4's telcos has yet to improve. Ask any users about their respective carriers downside, I'm pretty sure all of them can tell you their experiences with it. And for the love of telco's , charging GST on call rate and SMS seems pretty dumb.

i think one of the the reason is
1 - finish reload card with GST stock eg RM10 + GST 6% = RM10.60
2 - print new reload card with GST but less credit RM10 with GST with RM9.40 inside

3. - ready new internet plan like sabery chik said price less 6% quota more than 6% something like that

Can someone tell me which Prepaid is adding 6% and which is absorbing 6%?

Digi & Maxis is EXAMPLE: RM10.00 + RM0.60.

Umobile is EXAMPLE: RM10.00 (GST included)

What about Celcom? Altel? and the others?

This is bloody confusing and my customers are getting angry at me. My boss just say, charge 6%.

Some customer face turned sour when I mentioned adding GST.
And my supplier just said "All add 6% and you are good to go." in that context.

I think I will tell my boss to stop selling Topup (Hehehe, as if he will listen to me ;P). Bloody Government can't solve something like this.

sigh.

In the GST section of the bill statement, the breakdown will be as follows:
a) Access – 6% GST on the Monthly Fixed Charges
b) Calls – 6% GST on the lump sum total of Usage Charges, excluding non-taxable items like International Roaming
c) Others – 6% GST on the lump sum total of Other Credit & Charges and Discounts

For Prepaid customers, GST is levied on the prepaid starter packs with the Recommended Retail Price (RRP) displayed with the price including 6% GST. All reload denominations will include GST from date of implementation.

does anyone know if I can reload Digi 365 for 2 years for example? IE I top up RM30 today means validity until 06May2016. What if I top up another RM30 tomorrow, will the validity be 07May2017?

Reason I asked is because Hotlink allows you that. I still have the old hotlink plan and I topped up for 2 years, one year after another.

So I just topped up 31.80, then now they are going to revert back to tax in usage, so in the end I get charged more for this top up? oh wow, wow.

It will need to take up to 6 months to revert back, no that fast. May be before 6 months, it will change again.
U can buy reload from seller in lowyat to get cheaper price, no need to pay Rm31.80 for RM30 reload

Honesty speaking, there is a bright side to this; at least I can get rid of those annoying coins in my pocket rather than drop them around in a gutter somewhere.

It's here to stay, so I might as well look at it this way.

Actually, it will be worse.

If the GST apply on the call we make, sms we send or package we subsccribe, I believe there will have scenario that some will charge 2 time of GST.

Example, let say it start on 01 Dec 2015.
I have RM100 credit at as of 01 Dec 2015 which I reload earlier on Nov 2015.
This RM100 already charge for 6% GST when I buy reload of RM100 and pay RM106.

Starting 01 Dec 2015, if I make call which should be charge for RM1 and it will charge RM1.06

So, it seems I have to pay 2 time of GST during the period.

Also, if the call charge RM0.10, it might charge RM0.11
If I make 10 call of RM0.10, it might charge RM0.11 X 10 = RM1.10

But, the total call I make is RM1, it seem migth charge RM1.10 instead of RM1.06

No sure it will charge GST as above or not.

Any how, this solution is even worse than current 1.

Telco can charge slightly more, wasting your credit down faster.

Only good part is people that use international roaming don't get charged gst during usage. But then again, the rates are already more expensive.

RM 0.02 per SMS become RM 0.0212 per SMS
celcom SMS new IOX plan
RM 0.2 per 5 SMS become RM 0.212 per 5 SMS
RM0.33 per call become RM0.332 per call block
Internet plan MI38 RM38 2GB become RM40.28 per month
2 year validity RM50 pay extra 6%

Onexox website show harga jualan RM10.60 for Tambah nilai RM10.

http://www.onexox.my/

What is the RM0.30 credit given? Is it normal credit or have separate expiry date which is early? Or different call rate?

All provider give free credit as interim when you reload for certain amount. That is no call refund for gst.

its a long story actually

DA - dedicated account - cheaper rate
MA - Main account - standard rate

rate depend on how much u topup/ ur balance

every top up, system will divide into 2 account, DA & MA...if topup RM50, all will go into DA (maximum saving bcos u will get DA rate)

system will utilize DA 1st, once DA zero, then only system will use balance from MA
buy data plan only from MA account...if not enough balance in MA account, u can transfer from DA account, but cant transfer from MA to DA account

U still need to pay 6% GST as of now (19 Jun 2015).
When u subsribe data plan, it should no charge 6% GST.

Gov annonce to change the charge 6% GST when u make call and this change only will start within 6 months from the time gov annonce,

I think expected before Nov 2015 or Dec 2015.

But, again no more arrangement or action taken, no suprise if end up no change after 6 months.

At least less ppl will complaint after 6 months.
If still got complaint, extend another 6 months...
