that is a very sad pose.

Yeah I know sad.gif

But Warbotron's saddest pose is still better than any CW combiner's best pose whistling.gif

:haha: you need to be fair with the CW's combiners man~ XD

by the way, what is the height of this beast? I need to roughly see how much higher and bigger that CW Devastator will be at.
*
Hehe will measure later and let you know!

But from head to toe his height is almost the same as one Detolf space.

Then there are the back cannons which add about an extra two inches if you attach them the classic facing upwards style.

Also the shoulders are also a couple inches higher than the head, which is why I had to pose him that awkward way.

Wow I didn't realize CW Devvy would be even bigger than Warbotron.

Sigh if only all TF figures were Detolf compliant. Display space is such an issue.

I'd be excited about this third party figure... but Takara is OBSESSED with MP carbots.

Feels like just a matter of 1 - 2 years before we see an official MP Jazz.

If they managed to sort out Lamborghini, Datsun and Lancia licensing... surely they can sort out Porsche eventually?

I would gladly pay 3x the price of the official Devvy to get a solid MP-style 3rd party one... but this one is not looking great so far.

The combined mode looks like a more detailed TFC Herc.

Guess will just have to wait... maybe MMC or Unique Toys will deliver something worthwhile.

:haha: not everyone is blessed financially to spent so much monies on toys.
One thing about third party combiners is, they usually release one limb every few months... so in that sense most of us can afford RM200+ every 2 or 3 months.

Reselling is also easy most of the time, if you change your mind or need the money. Most GOOD third party combiners hold their value reasonably well (let's push aside duds like TFC Uranos, lol...)

So it's not really a matter of affordability to me, it's just about what you want and expect from your toys.

I'm a sucker for high-end TFs, and my kids are too young to play with them... so that's why simplified and child-focused official products just don't do it for me personally!

When my kids are a bit older though, I'll go nuts with the simple figures... cause there's no way they're touching my MPs and 3Ps tongue.gif

There was a recent similar case, somebody bought on eBay and turned out to be fraud.

Look at the guy's feedback - if he's a fraud, chances are his feedback is all on items that have nothing to do with Transformers.

99% of the time, if it looks too good to be true, it is.

I have this too, and I thought I'm the only collector in Malaysia who thinks he looks great haha.

I don't even dare transform him though because of the potential paint chipping issue.

I'm surprised Takara haven't done a retool of Blaster with the Soundwave mould.

They've made much more obscure retools like Exhaust, Road Rage, Acid Storm, etc... Blaster seems like a no-brainer.

I think it's because the later are basically the same molds as their predecessor in a different paint scheme whereas Blaster & Soundwave (based on original G1 reference) are 2 totally different designs thus you can't really "retool" the existing MP Soundwave in to becoming MP Blaster. They may have the same function but they do not share the same mold (Well... aside from a few rare exceptions like TF Cybertron & FOC version sweat.gif ).
*
Hmm I think it could possibly be done... give the MP Soundwave mould a new paintjob, change the headsculpt, chest piece and leg detailing, and you've got something pretty similar to Blaster!

... but then Takara's actions defy logic sometimes anyway. Why they've taken this long to make an official mp10-scaled Megatron is a mystery to me.

Anyone got the reissue mp-10? Any complain? Worth the price?
*
Just got mine in the mail today. A LOT of people are complaining about scratches, bad paint job, marks on the plastic, and a leg panel that won't click in place.

I'm happy with mine though, I don't seem to have the above issues so I guess it's just luck.

Definitely worth the price, you can still get it at retail price but it won't stay that way for long.

Hehe go for it chan! How to get cheaper than now, unless u buy BIB tongue.gif

ohman, if based on history, it will most definitely go up higher. The previous batch of MP10 went up to RM800 - RM1k+ before this reissue was announced.

Hi guys, new guy here,

just out of curiosity, if I were interested of buying Optimus Prime, what should I look for?

The Optimus Prime that I'm interested in is the G1, which in the late 1980s I had one but didn't bother for it along with other of my toys. Back then the only one I would 'sayang' was Liano, coz he so macho and cool. I also had the PowerMaster Optimus Prime which I hate because all was plastic and not metal like my previous Optimus.

So now, to relived my boyhood memories, I decided to get some of the memorable figurine starting with Optimus. I looked at the first page of this thread, and also went to ebay.

Of course getting a 1980s Hasbro one is out of the question (Not gonna spulrge that kinda money on just OP, better get Gibson Les Paul Custom laugh.gif )

But I did find a couple of sellers on the bay, selling what looks like the same packaging and content but not from Hasbro. And its cheaper, my question is;

-is it ok to get those?
-what are they? Licensed copy? Unlicensed? Fake? China atempt of faking OP?
-is it ok to buy a non-Hasbro figurines in terms of Transformers?
*
1) Is it from Takara perhaps? Takara is the Japanese co-license holder for Transformers. Anything from Takara or Hasbro is ori.

2) How nostalgic do you want to be? What about a modernized version of G1 Prime that looks just like the cartoon? Check out Optimus Prime Masterpiece (MP10). He's widely regarded as the best G1 Prime available today:

3) If you're looking for a representation of G1 Prime, in my opinion there are no unlicensed/third party figures worth getting. Best bet is either MP10 or a reissue of the original G1 toy.

In terms of looks alone, Voodoo Dolls Ironhide and Ratchet are 10x better than the official product.

My only concern is they're a new company, so plastic quality + QC is still a question mark.

The TFC ones look good as well, but don't fit the MP aesthetic.

Won't be surprised if Maketoys or MMC comes out with their own soon too, given their new MP-style lineup.

In that case... uh oh.

My only experience with KFC is Transistor (Not Blaster), and he's passable but not great quality-wise.

Or go to Facebook and search for Famitoy, Vhobby, Mytoy or Time Machine.

There are quite a few more, that's just off the top of my head.

Does anyone know if the TRU MP11 Starscream is coming to Malaysia?

X2O has a preorder for a loose version of it, but RM440. Expensive lah, especially because no box.

The actual release in US is only $60!

Loose version as in, all accessories complete just without the box or just plainly the figures itself?

I don't know if RM440.00 can be considered as expensive since Acid Storm and Sunstorm is already selling at between RM350.00 to RM400.00 each and that is for a side character which only appeared for less than 2 minutes an in one episode laugh.gif

Although the MRSP is USD60 but that price hasn't take into account the shipping costs as well. If i'm not mistaken, shipping costs would hit about RM150.00 to RM180.00 depending on carriers.

So if we blindly take the conversion rate then the price would be around:-

USD60.00 = RM240.00

RM240.00 + RM180.00 = RM420.00

Nonetheless, i highly doubt that when it hits TRU stores, it will be any cheaper. TRU aren't exactly known for their competitive price.
Don't know if it comes with accessories - the post did not mention. For that price I sure hope so!

The shipping cost you're mentioning would apply to shipping it from overseas as an individual, but it's the incorrect calculation to use when we're talking about sellers or retailers importing it in bulk. They do not transfer the cost to buyers in that way, because their bulk shipping costs also are nowhere near there. If anything we buyers would only absorb a fraction of that plus import tax and GST.

As for the margin of TRU's MP price markups, they have been inconsistent from what I remember. Some like Soundwave were competitive compared to their original US prices. But then MP Prowl was an insane markup of nearly double.

If I had to guess, I'd agree with you though. Given the popularity of the character... I'll be surprised if they skip the chance to goreng Starscream.

Takara actually had a Coronation Starscream reissue planned for Q1 2015, but it's been delayed indefinitely.

I've got a PO for it with Primo Collectibles. RM442.

Given what you found out about the loose Starscream, best bet is probably to wait for that one. Heck knows when it's coming though, even the seller can't give me an answer.

The price markups in Malaysia for retail pricing is partly due to the shipping costs etc, yes.. but it's also a price adjustment thing for what what they feel the market should pay for such items.  Then places like TRU also just follow whatever RRP is set for a particular toy given whereas our specialty toy stores possibly take a lower profit margin etc etc.
*
Exactly what I'm trying to say. Shipping is actually just a small part of the markup. And all countries pay for shipping, even US. It's not like these toys are made in US, they're made in places like China and Vietnam, so if anything our shipping should be even cheaper since we're closer to those countries.
