what if the SSD become a torrent drive?
Not a good idea. Torrenting puts a lot of stress to an HDD/SSD as it involves lots of reading & writing
Use conventional disk for torrents

Hi there, does anyone here have the contact details for the distributor of Lite On SSDs for direct warranty services? My 15-month old S900 stopped functioning and the local retailer would not honor the warranty after a year..Or should they?
PM Lite-On SSD in Facebook
They should be able to provide the details you need

Here: Lite-On SSD

SP SSD V55 - silicon power

Is this brand ok? might use it for general use only.
Absolutely not
Buy from a known brand

If you're really tight on budget, get Kingston v300

Guys, anyone have tried to transfer their OS from HDD to SSD? Kinda complicated but is there a possibility?
Yes
Depending on what kind of SSD you have, it may come with a migration software

can winxp clean install used with ssd? tq
Yes. But why XP? It's a severely outdated OS

I has a legacy computer which i still used and its main o/s is still xp pro. thinking of booting the speed to work faster.
Alright
Anyway, in order for you to use SSD on your XP computer, you need to load AHCI driver when XP installer is asking "Press F6 if you need to install a third party SCSI or RAID driver..."

Hmm, look complicated sad.gif
Sorry, forgot to mention that the link is for you to add the AHCI drive natively into the Windows XP installer, this way you don't have to side load the AHCI driver while installing Windows XP

You can however, use the old method by side-loading the AHCI driver while Windows XP installer is loading by pressing F6 on your keyboard when you see the "Press F6 if you need to install a third party SCSI or RAID driver..."

sandisk x400 256gb better?
found 1 at 300++ only....
Sandisk does promise the X400 to provide better performance & reliability, but it's using TLC instead of MLC found in Z400s

Hi guys,

I don't know where to ask, can my laptop model Toshiba Satellite P745 compatible with any SSD apart from the 2.5".
Satellite P745 doesn't have neither an mSATA slot nor an M.2 slot
Your only choice is the 2.5" HDD slot

Hi I got y580 Lenovo purchased in 2012.
The hard disk seems dead now.
Can I know which ssd is suitable to be replaced?
Thank you
Lenovo Y580 has an mSATA slot. So you should use that slot.
This way you can still install a conventional HDD in the 2.5" HDD slot

mSATA SSD is available from 60GB & up to 1TB

And I got to replace the current normal hhd too.
So meaning that I got to purchase 1 msata and 1 normal hard disc.

My 950 Pro 512GB is more than enough for my usage

Maybe when NVME crosses the X16 PCI-E lane I'll think about upgrading to a bigger capacity
