unrelated to the watch, but is your s3 still that durable? i tried using mine after 2 years last week but it has literally unbearable lag

Gear s3 is only about a year old. Are you sure you're using it?

QUOTE(ben3003 @ Nov 9 2017, 09:01 AM)
if cannot continuous track heart rate, the calorie burned will not be as accurate.. sigh why gear sport can gear s3 cannot.. shit man..

Cause it's targeted at different users? And samsung wants to milk as much money as they can by offering almost similar products with slightly different features. Lol.

if i buy s3, i definitely still have to wear my fitbit as tracker for for continuous heart rate monitoring and sleep tracking. but for gear sport, probably i just need fitbit for sleep tracking.. fitbit approach is even worst, closed to other apps like s health and bla bla.. even the 3rd party apps to export the data is half baked, it doesnt export the hours u active, it just evenly spread ur steps throughout the day, and messes up with calorie reading at s health

then get the gear fit 2 pro. it has the options for auto HR based on the frequency you want it to be.

u have to understand, smartwatch caters for everyday usage of the user. hence it is skewed towards better display, styling, notifications, maps, microphone, etc.

smartbands are more towards fitness and sports. hence the size is small as big smartwatch are nuisance if you do sports with it, notifications are limited to save more battery that are more focused to track auto HR, calories, sleep patterns etc.

Tech bug is selling LG sport price is at 1.9K...

I'm still rocking with my pebble watch 2 battery last me a week battery life and also had sleep monitor, step count and HR just good enough for casual people like me

Not sure about other smartwatch, but I once knocked my Moto 360 right on the rock while climbing Broga Hill, no scratch or crack.
Oh, I also accidentally knocked it on the edge of table too, also no damage. icon_rolleyes.gif

Such a shame Motorola has decided not to launch new smartwatch in the near future...

My experience is that the screens are quite durable. The case / bezel are more prone to scratches though.

anyone has any idea if the full color AOD will severely impact battery life or not? cause on my huawei watch it does, but uncertain on the S3 since it's 2 different OS environment

I presume same, as display is the one draining battery.
