my say is...read from the web....many countries had experienced slight domestic downward consumption pressure for the first few months.....then back to normal....
but since we are in UT (more diversified in sectors) and not so much of local targeted stock picking....I guess the local FMs with all their "xpertise" "SHOULD" know where to move "MY" monies...

i read that once..

but this "since we are in UT (more diversified in sectors) and not so much of local targeted stock picking....I guess the local FMs with all their "xpertise" "SHOULD" know where to move "MY" monies..." should answer my question. thumbup.gif

just a note of caution...NOT all local FM are the SAME....
goto FSM website....funds info/fund selector/select Equity under Main Categories/under Geographical Sector...select Malaysia....

look at the annualized returns of over 5 and 10yrs.....you will see what I mean.
(yes, past performance may not be an indicative of possible future performance)

That is not even one year.. let's see after the next ten years smile.gif this year we might have a flat or declining world market, but over the next 10 years, should be beating FD rates. If you wait long enough you pretty much always will.

If you invest have to do long term DCA.. ten years is not a long time, it gets shorter as you grow older, only seems a long time when you are young. But when you are 20.. it seems a long time. And then suddenly you are celebrating your 30th birthday.. and then 40 and then 50.. and then retired already. Life is short smile.gif

Oh wait.. gambling? you think you are not gambling if you put your money in the bank? you are so sure the country will not collapse? you are so sure the world will not collapse? you're sure there won't be a WW3 and everyone will go back to living in caves?

If you can't be sure of that, you are also gambling...right?

Truth is.. we are all gambling, might as well increase the stakes so we get a better payoff when we retire smile.gif

Crystal ball answer Crystal ball 1 or Crystal ball 2

None crystal ball answer:
Local equities will have more downside risk compared to upside. GST will be a short-term drag on bottom line of most businesses and the volatile oil price will be increase the down-side risk.

My answer:

As of Jan-2015 data that I have, the risk-adjusted return of M'sia centric UT has under-perform regional index.

Hi.. New here.

Previously my investments was all in PM. But, because of the high SC, decided to sell all my funds in PM with a small profit and will be making a move to FSM.

Now awaiting for the money to be credited to my PB account and activation of my FSM account too.

Welcome. Remember your 1% sales charge for the next 30 days from the day you activate your FSM. although there's always promo on and off as well.

PS: i forgot if it's 30 days from the day i sent in the form, or the day it was activated. oh well, they are really fast btw.

Many of us here, certainly me, started my investing journey in UT through PM. That is the grand daddy of UT. But with the coming of FSM, and more of us are getting better educated abt UT, it will seem the days of paying high SC for buying UT is coming to an end....
