No. Not that. I was asking about this.

If engine oil has to do with setating an injin, then Quazacolt ady hailut.com.my coz that sohem is using 0W20 whistling.gif I'm saying, nowadays these xin kar lan so xin kar lan to the max. When you have cranking sound yet the car aint start, that is never the cause of lack of engine oil. When your car has no engine oil, it will still start regardless whistling.gif
*
I am curious if it is not because of oil. What then?
*
If there's a cranking sound, meaning engine component is moving. Getting the car start is never the problem of engine oil. There will be a point that when the engine is too damn dry, the piston jammed on the engine block, this way no doubt is caused by engine oil. However, if engine oil causing the jammed of piston, I'm sorry to tell you there will be no cranking sound AT ALL. I've tried to crank a jammed engine at chopshop where the engine being left without engine oil for too damn long. When I short the started, there's no cranking sound but all the electricity cut off from the fuse box. All I can hear was relay sound, CLICK but that's it.

Just for your information, if the engine was jammed by no engine oil, 1 can never start back the engine unless open up the whole thing give it an overhaul.

My reply to you previously has already answered. It has to be the few known issue of petrol overflow, TDC misaligned and or fuel pump/fuel line/fuel filter inefficiency. When there's a cranking sound, it has never to do with engine oil regardless. Have you ever wonder why those people when the car aint start, the 1st thing they do is always open bonnet, check on engine oil? I mean, if the dipstick really show the engine is dry, can add engine oil make the car start back? hmm.gif I don't know, I leave it to you what and who to trust. whistling.gif

I've questions regards radiator. Seeing the pretty colourered silicone hoses available online but never mentioning Saga, would Gen2 hoses be good to use? Also is the Saga radiator common to other models?

Thanks David they do appear the same, including the widening on the lower hose.
Daisy was quite old already when I bought her so I'll likely do a coolant change long before it's due and may buy pretty new hoses for the job. Pity I've only seen blue and red thus far.

If I may ask did you buy Daisy not brand new? How old is Daisy? When did you buy her? What is her full model? Is Daisy a Proton Saga FLX Special Edition? Aussies have different name for Saga if I'm not mistaken.

Yes I bought Daisy new but it was built in feb 2013 then has an Aussie compliance plate of april 2014 but I have to think the coolant has already had over two years of service.
Daisy is what was marketed as a S16 FLX GXR, the GXR being the top range level, or at the time I suppose the bottom level as well as Daisy must have been about the last S16 sold here. Daisy has leather seats, CVT, reverse sensors which I like despite seldom hearing them, ABS and traction control which are gov mandated here now, the S4PH 1.6 engine which I'm a bit ambivalent about as I sense the 1.3 may be the better variant, radio controls on the steering wheel and USB MP3 input for the wireless which thankfully has the AM band, something I've noted is becoming rare on aftermarket units, alloy number 14 wheels with thankfully a full size spare that's becoming rare these days, air conditioning but that's standard for all cars these days. I bought Daisy in Sept 14.
I prefer the name Saga over S16 so shall usually use Saga for Daisy, sometime in the future I'll likely buy a Saga badge and plonk it where the S16 badge is.

jsnkok what is your mileage now ?

davidke20 what do you think if the wheel bearing can fail prematurely considering the tyres are cracking all round the diameter ?
I have a funny noise now to the car..
from 60-80 kph, it seems like I can hear bearing kong noise...
from 90-100 kph above, seems like bearing kong noise is no longer audible...or engine / wind noise is too loud until it covered the sound ?

do we need to "pump" the bearing in for FLX ?
I know for BLM is required to bring to machine shop and pump in the bearing to fit in place..
*
Only certain range of speed will emit sound? More like tyre noise then. To diagnose bearing noise, 1 need to jackup the car, spin the wheel whilst holding on the suspension spring to feel if there's any friction feedback from the spring.

QUOTE(jerrymouse @ Apr 22 2015, 10:18 PM)
that could be one of the reason bro, I was stuck in the jam this evening and for the first time I saw the temperature indicator shoot up to maximum and for about 5 minutes, once I clear the jam and hit on the freeway (with aircond off) the temperature go down.

Upon checking, found out the fan was not turning but after i push a bit it started turning but SLOW. went for dinner and notice the fan is still turning but slow and the temperature indicator remain normal (3 bar).

Any advise bro?
*
Get the fan changed immediately. Clear sign of carbon weakness in the fan motor.

Is the price acceptable?

If it's Denso original. Check for genuine. Sometimes if you mislook you'll get Donse or Danso instead doh.gif

No u can't. Must go pasaraya NSK to buy their brand. Bcoz Plotong send their procurement and logistic department go there obtain their bearings.

repair ? can repair gah ?
anyway,
rm 60 for each bearing
rm 60 for labour incl. machine shop cost
*my magician don't have the tools to press fit the bearing into the housing otherwise you can save some $ from it instead of bringing to machine shop
*
That's fairly cheap

QUOTE(iskazulka @ Apr 27 2015, 08:43 AM)
iinm, repair means change to same saga ones. change to EVO means change to EVO bearing maybe? unker david minta penjelasan.
how come change front bearing same cost like rear bearing? i tot front bearing different than rear bearing?
*
For MOST case, yes the wheel up is attached with the bearing. However, even for EBO/GSR, the hub can be separated from the bearing, but need machine press to force it out/in. Irresponsible workshop that doesn't have a machine will use a cylinder tube to place on top of the bearing, then use a hammer to knock on the cylinder tube to force it in, which may not guarantee the fitment and or whether the impact will harm the bearing.
