well guitarwanker,making an engine weaker becaz of installing an aircond is partially true..
as for my 1.6 engine,i felt no difference when switching the aircond on.i've tried 1.3 with aircond as well...not significant.
well then u say alternative way such as consuming power from battery for the aircond?
it's not possible.well it's the same case for any modern car as well.
the air cond has a "generator"(soyabean help me i suddenly forgot the name) to "pump" the gas to your air cond blower,and it was "run" thru your engine by connecting both the generator and engine with pulley belts.
even local made modern cars,when u switch on the air cond,u might notice that your car jerks a lil when u hear the air cond start "pumping the gas".

well anyway alternative to avoid such scenario :
1. don't use air cond and use fan instead~ (hey!Green Environment is good!)
2. change to 1.6cc engine
3. use a smaller (weaker) "generator"
one of my fren uses kelisa's.looks neat u know?!

anyway...as i said,try using "smaller" like kelisa's but then yea it's not as cold...
ofcaz changing audio and other stuff doesn't affect performance,but heck,since you're driving a VW,what kinda "performance" do u wish to see?
each person has different kinda meaning...
anyway if u're in kl,maybe u can let us know where u (n ur vw) are and maybe we here can have a TT then go to see your vw...

go find a weaker or smaller compressor if u really want air cond.
like kelisa's.i think the best is you find small cc modern cars then u try with their compressor.

as for electrical appliances.the simplest way is to add in more relays as u add in any accessories.cheap and easy to install.
electrical or wiring stuff if you're keen i can recommend u to a shop he done a nice work.

about the ngv...don't say stupid la...actually it's a very good idea you know...i thought of installing it as well...anyway....i called and ask and that guy told me to wait his call he will see my car but...no response after that and i sms him no more reply...
so i've yet to find another ngv shop to answer me.

better get an after market vw alternator caz donit to do fan lining,balancing etc etc...maybe u dono wat i mean caz u don have beetle..but soya should understand lo...caz the alternator attached to fan..very mafan..
just install regulator and relay(S) after the output of alternator will do...
trust me it's enough to supply to alot of amps...
my fren's car was fixed with alot alot alot alot woofer speaker etc...

um...put at the back,got a good thing...can utilise the lugguage area and keep the dash neat...if you're going for classic look la...
some they put infront and the blower in the boonet,it suck the petrol smell into the car....pppppppfffffffffffffffffff.......really hard to drive~!

this is really ugly for them..
so they changed the place for blower..
they placed it in the bonnet,and then the air was directed thru hoses to air vents etc....some to the speedometer grill.
