I'm a licensed aircraft engineer, been throwing out resume to few O&G companies for job opportunities, the problem is I don't know in what sector of o&g that I can work with my experience, so in my application I did not state any job title. Zero reply from any of it so far. Anybody got any idea? Some opinions and advices pls?
I'm not in HR but even I do receive alot of CVs from applicants interested. We will just chunk your CV if there is no job title mentioned. As far as I know we will only search when there's an opened position, so its best to submit with a job title so we can see if you are suitable. O&G is a competitive industry with alot of applicants.

what is the job opportunity for a girl to work as junior/assistant Project manager in O&G industry? interested in venturing in O&G as i'll be going back to my oiltown next year after graduating

well just to follow the PM around, learn a thing or two, just to gain experience. like a junior or trainee. currently in the construction industry but feel like wanna venture into O&G
Here is one area where O&G is different. Other industry yes you can follow a Project Manager / CEO / etc around and learn the trade and take over later. Even so usually it is someone with contact (or if follow CEO around usually the direct son/daughter). However O&G you cant do that reason being to be a PM for a project, not only your hiring company but the client will actually run through your CV experience and interview you for every project. People prefer those with hands on experience and climbed their way up.
Usually for projects the route is Discipline Engineer to Project Engineer to senior Project Engineer or Team Leader then only you can pray that you have a shot at being a PM.
Fresh Grad target PM straight. haha. Nice to see you aiming high.
Note that being a girl in a male dominated industry has its pros and cons.

I don't have anything against Sarawakians or Sabahans.
But the immigration policy of both states for org2 Malaya and the limitations of org2 Malaya to work in both states always bug me.
It's irony that I didn't need to show my international passport to any border customs when I was criss-crossing the Western Europe, but I need to show my Malaysia IC and fill up "custom forms" whenever I enter Sarawak or Sabah, a state that is part of Malaysia. I am a Malaysian the last time I check my IC. And we still need work permit to work in those "sister" states of ours. Forget about thinking of owning a property over there.
Sometimes one needs to look at the perspective view of org2 Malaya with regard to Sarawak and Sabah, in order to understand how certain prejudices against our eastern brethren came about. Moreover calling us "org Malaya" doesn't help the situation either.
Just something to ponder for the Sarawakians and Sabahans out there.
Side track a bit from the main topic from "org Malaya".
I might be wrong, but I believe not too long ago it was a hot topic that Sabah and Sarawak used the term "negara" instead of "negeri" during the formation of Malaysia. Over the years it eroded and became a state.
Anyways, whatever it is the two have full control of immigration as stated during the formation of Malaysia.
Anyways, back to oil and gas, this is one of my headache when I have to bring a team from West Msia to work long periods offshore in Sarawak/Sabah.
