which team you are using? when i start my arsenal game, first thing i do is to give everyone a new contract, remove all bonuses. almost all (90%) players will sign the contract (up their base salary is required). save me a lot in finance... have to admit i am stingy in this game... arsene style as well....

I usually set teamtalk to "You can win this game" and then for key players, I put individual "I have faith in your ability"

Also, when I am down at halftime, I'll set my star performers to "You can change this game" or something like that...

Cristiano Ronaldo who had a rating of 6 after listening to halftime team talks went on to score the winning goal and became man of the match

I seldom set "I expect you to win". And for friendlies I usually set "Relax and play"

clichy and lahm for me. Hoyte is underrated. He works hard, and can score long ranger too

cant really cancel bonuses, but just offer them new contracts, with new terms. most of the first teamers will accept but those youngsters will want appearance bonuses coz they are not 1st teamers (thats what i think)

i am mean, if they dont wanna sign if no appearance bonus, i will give them, then let them play in the reserves. (since most of them are youngsters)

i have 2 recommendations. since i start with arsenal with clichy injured - i get 2 left backs - gareth bale (1.7m) from southampton (great 17 yo kid with wonderful stats!) and giogio cheallini from juventus (5m) - replaced clichy as my first choice. i rate him as highly as cole..

edit: baines is good but costs arounf 7.5m...

All of mine signed after 1st season during holiday break.

Mine I think was Pazzini or Dawid Janczyk. Forgotten which of them. Worst signing aint from my team Janczyk did win the young player of the month for the last EPL month, and Ballack won fan's favorite (29 fn goals from someone who plays DMC!!!) IMO Vanden Borre is a BIG avoid in FM07... only 4 for concentration stats... way too low for a defender. With the money made from Rio, you couldve gone for Micah Richards.
