Free role means the player is allowed to roam the field and practically do whatever he likes. Creative license for him is probably set to the maximum.

Hold the ball means the player will always try to hold the ball to wait for support or other players to move up.

QUOTE(Acey @ Nov 6 2006, 06:12 AM)
All of mine signed after 1st season during holiday break.
Mine I think was Pazzini or Dawid Janczyk.  Forgotten which of them.  Worst signing aint from my team laugh.gif  Janczyk did win the young player of the month for the last EPL month, and Ballack won fan's favorite (29 fn goals from someone who plays DMC!!!)  IMO Vanden Borre is a BIG avoid in FM07... only 4 for concentration stats... way too low for a defender.  With the money made from Rio, you couldve gone for Micah Richards.

they wanted to cut my neck by upping his price considering the fact i am a city rival.

anyway, how long does WP take? i bought sergio arguero for 20 million and cant play him?! WTF. same with adu, bruno mgepza, freddy quarin, marcelo!!! ARGHHH!!

and yeah one more, best keeper apart from akinkeev? (young one, cuz sold foster and kuszchack! tongue.gif and howard as well. VDS let go to roma for free liao tongue.gif)

Yep, that is the general view. Of course, I give free role sometimes to my wingers as well.

Always check if the player would like to talk to other parties for a transfer...I usually change the offer to some fee like 10-15 million pounds then ask the team for their star player in exchange..

So far, Chelsea and Valencia tried to get rio ferdinand..I have asked both teams to give me 10 milllion + Frank Lampard/ David Villa tongue.gif Both went away after that..and Ferdinand remains happy..

cant really cancel bonuses, but just offer them new contracts, with new terms. most of the first teamers will accept but those youngsters will want appearance bonuses coz they are not 1st teamers (thats what i think)

i am mean, if they dont wanna sign if no appearance bonus, i will give them, then let them play in the reserves.  rclxms.gif  (since most of them are youngsters)
*
I am trying to get my players sign new contract too. Some can reduce the wages by half and without appearance bonus. But many star players refuse to accept..haha.

ya.. it's a bit tough. or should i say tougher than prev version of FM. IMHO, team talk plays a very big role in determining the success of a game. i still couldnt find the best pair of team talk to be given during pre-match, half time, and post match.. sigh

reducing players wage with new contracts works well in previous versions of FM ( i remember managed to reduce sol campbell's wge from 80k to 25k!!) but this version seems the player got brains more... tongue.gif

Blackburn and Wigan can be hard to beat but you need to motivate your strikers. Start off with You can win this game as the team talk, then set "I have faith in your ability" for both the strikers.

During halftime, those with avg rating of 6 (set it to either I have faith or You can make a difference), if you are not leading at the time.

As for tactics, I am using 4-4-2. Defence is Heinze (LB), Rio and Vidic (CB), Gary (RB). Giggs (ML), Ronaldo (MR), Carrick (CM) and Scholes (AM) makes up my midfield. Forwards are Luca Toni and Wayne Rooney.

As for tactics, I use counterattack, attacking football and go wide. I normally dont set man marking.

I am currently top of the league in November, unbeaten in Premier League, one loss in Champ League but unfortunately knocked out of League Cup tongue.gif

It is very important to set a proper training schedule for your players at the start of the season. Don't put everyone under General training.

Start in Conference League North / South, man, that is tough. No transfer money and crap players at your disposal. Even worst when you get promoted to Conference National League when your team is still a part timer.

How to survive, get a parent club and hopefully some good young players come to your club. In this division, usualy 4-4-2 attacking can win you lotsa of game coz the opposition usually have crap gk anyway. A good GK is essential in Conference League North / South, recommended GK - Conrad Logan or Wales U-21 GK W.Hennesey from Watford, if you can get them on loan.

Me currently managing two clubs at one time using different computers, Forest Green and Redditch. So much fun playing in this bottom league.

Errr...I set it to medium...Heavy training usually results in a lot of injured players..

@those who're interested in using Tug's training, you can get it here

It worked like a charm for me, although it also depends on how you manage your coaches and stuff.
