QUOTE(wil-i-am @ Apr 2 2015, 04:07 PM) Returns from fixed n variable price Funds will be affected by GST Variable price funds investors will be badly hit. http://www.asnb.com.my/pdf/NOTISPENTING/Su...disclaimer).pdf Assuming every RM1000 worth of investment, 5% sales charge involved. Hence, RM50 goes to the fund manager. And RM3 (6% of RM50) goes to the government. Meaning U pump in gross RM1000, only RM947 goes to the investment. The rest goes to PNB/IRB. |

QUOTE(plumberly @ Apr 2 2015, 02:17 PM) Follow up from my frustrating experience yesterday. I can understand your frustration. Called the ASNB here. Initially I was told that I could not buy ASM due to system upgrading. I explained the ASNB memo on ASN (1-5 Apr) and ASX (5 Apr). Then she said with the system upgrading, it would be slow in getting ASM. First it is this, later that. Reminds me of MAS (Mana Ada System)! Asked about going to banks and was told it would be the same with the slow speed. Giving up. Now they don't deserve the title of being the branch with the highest ASX transactions in Malaysia! Ha. Today I went to a red color bank branch in KL. The customer service told me all Pnb system bank down nationwide. Apply to all agents bank till next week Thereafter I went to another red color bank in PJ. Problem solved. Transaction could be done as usual. Sometimes the staff just lazy and not helpful. QUOTE(bbgoat @ Apr 4 2015, 02:32 PM) RHB only. Banks do not show all offers on their website or may show it later. Call up RHB branch or go there to visit the branch. CIMB Bank also have similar productsTheir equity funds include the ASNB variable price fund http://www.cimbbank.com.my/en/personal/pre...e-campaign.html |

QUOTE(ic no 851025071234 @ Apr 7 2015, 08:50 PM) From your question ask, probably u are 19 yo? First u need to know what is amanah saham (unit trust), and how it works. To put it in a sentence, unit trust invest in 30-50 stocks counters, some invest in property, cash/ money market, bonds, treasury bills. A unit trust can only go bankrupt if the invested stocks/ bonds all kaput. Study the annual report to find out more. |

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Apr 20 2015, 04:07 PM) looks like ASB2 is getting "hot" nowadays.. overheard some unker talking about it in bank.. saw few pipu also open new account.. Yeah...Bumi investors would withdraw from ASW/ASD/AS1m to fill up ASB2 first.I wonder how much ASB2 has been sold Then only consider other fixed price funds. |

QUOTE(guy3288 @ Apr 22 2015, 02:02 PM) you are right. MBB also said no, cant open account, later cant get any unit, very difficult to reverse account. Talk to the branch manager, take down the name of the officer and teller, threaten them to complain to ASNB, and their HQ for the reluctance to open account.Fact is there were so many units of ASM and AS1m available just now. Finished all my cash in hand, still got some more! sigh....they just dont want to open new account...i said RM100 sure can get, they are just not willing.. |

today visited the red color bank, and was told that they received the instruction from ASNB not to open new account for ASM, AS1M, ASW for Non-bumi because all units are sold. But the agent banks have their own discretion whether to allow top up for existing accounts for non-bumi account holders.

QUOTE(JustcallmeLarry @ May 11 2015, 07:00 PM) Is there any plans to have asbn atm? Something like those passports readers at airports? Few days ago I really needed the money but bcs bank was closed I couldn't get money. bear in mind this is the unit trust/ mutual fund, not a bank account. No unit trust in the world allow withdrawal via ATM |

QUOTE(hyelbaine @ May 19 2015, 09:31 AM) That would be the drawback for bumi's I guess. 7% income distribution yet capped at 200k (for initial investment) while the other funds while only giving around 6%, does not limit one's ability to invest. Not to forget ASB2 another 200K limit which also paying > 7%.I did some quick calculations; 200k @ 7% vs 300k @ 6% over 20 years... The latter actually yields you more than the former at the end of 20 years although that wouldn't be a surprised now would it Bumi owners can always top up the other fixed price fund. ASD and AS1M are always available for bumi investors. |
