I thought that ASW, AS1m,ASM all in the same bucket of eggs?
*
Can say same bucket as they are handle by pnb. But I am very confident it won't change to VF. Even if change to VF, not all 3 will be change. So if one change, you still got 2 book. Withdraw all and "transfer" into the other. Still good for 1-3years before one needs to worry about changing to VF again. 1-3 years at 6.X%/year is good enough returns for me.

If don't change to VF, no need to "transfer" just maintain the account. After all maintain rm100 only what.

If really all change to VF, just withdraw all and tutup account.

Yes.. I agreed with you..

Having 3 different funds means 3 different buckets..

Unless PNB alter all the 3 funds into VP status..

If its changed to VP, the most we can do is to withdraw..
*
The reason I said they won't change all is if they change all, there will be a mass withdrawal and I don't think PNB can tahan that. If change only one, there will be still be mass withdrawal but not as much as compare mass withdrawal for all 3 funds. So like that, they still can survive.

QUOTE(Hansel @ Aug 28 2015, 03:24 PM)
Mass Withdrawal - if an ann't is made should the implementation of FP comes true, wouldn't there be mass withdrawal too ? Say, if change of FP to VP for one fund only,... the mass withdrawal effect due to that one 'announced fund' may 'kill' PNB, or at the very least,... cripple PNB a little bit. I am sure there will be spillover effects to the other FP funds too, whereby holders of the other FP funds, perhaps not ASB and ASB2,... ill also start to do a withdrawal run on their respective funds.

Frankly, I wonder how will PNB be able to prevent the exodus of funds from happenng once they have made the ann't, unles they limit the number of days fro people to withdraw, say like : those who would like to withdraw would be given 48 hours to withdraw, and after the 48 hours, the FP funds not withdrawn will turn nto VP units. So, they will limit the number of people who are able to make withdrawals and lock-out all those who did not manage to do so.

Just made precaution and keep ears and eyes open for news in case they really change to VF.

Sigh. So, there's nothing I can do apart from putting in my savings, for ASM, AS1M or ASW?

Your advice would be really helpful, sifus  icon_question.gif

Keep in mind that there's a chance FV can or cannot be change to VF come end of the year. So keep your ears and eyes open.

You can put in monthly for ASM, ASW, or AS1M? I thought it depends on availability of units... Please correct me if I'm wrong
*
Haiyoo, nowadays units available everyday. Is whether you got money or not.

Wah! Really? Why are there many available units?
Any specific reason why ASW2020 in particular (and not other ASx) tomorrow? Also, do I have to open on the 1st? What if I do it on the 2nd or next week?
*
Cause people got scared and dump ASX without thinking. Depends on how you see it. For me I see it as opportunity. Opportunity like this does not come always.

Yes, I agree with uncle dreamer. Do not put all eggs into ONE basket. However, I see that ASX is still good for at least 3-5 years. After that, I have to think to continue or not.

Cause tomorrow asw2020 open again for transcation. Higher chance to get. Although like I said, you try any of the FP anyday, sure can get. Just depends on whether you already have the book and whether the bank people want to help you or not.

Again, keep in mind, there is a very slim chance that SC is going to convert ASX into VP (based on FP expiry date). If they do that, tarik out all the money and switch to different book as they will never change all to VP. One maybe. But not all 3 one shot.

Used to be FD only. Now only I just started converting to asx. I will hold ASX for maybe 3-5years provided no change in FP.

Not bumi la.

Thought of queuing just to open asw account. Maybe just buy rm100 tongue.gif
*
You should. At least if something happen to either fund, you have extra book to "transfer" the affected fund. Rather than wait until such thing happen then only you want to open new book.

wil-i-am p&c whistling.gif

nexona88 I wish. But circumstances prevent me from opening/topping up until near Christmas.

Don't know anyone here have the ball of steel or not....

One banker tell me got people put 500k to asg pendidikan when the price falls to 0.945 that means he got MYR 1  to one unit...

I was like wow 😲
*
Guessing he is betting that when ASG goes up to 1.2, he will make big profit.

hmm.gif Just recalled, I've tried to open a new AS1M account on June for my mum, MBB said can't open new account, can only top up for existing account holder. So I've tried to top up my AS1M, yet no available units sweat.gif Since you guys mentioned that new account can be opened when units are available, meaning they have the new books stand by at all times...? unsure.gif

KLIA2? Then maybe I shall "try" opening ASW later at KLIA2 or KL Sentral if convenient (since will be passing by), else will "try" tomorrow around Setapak area, will give an update where possible laugh.gif
*
Yes. They always have new books standby.

Yes. I opened my ASM in maybank klia2. No questions asked. Just tell them that, I know fully subscribe. But I know if got units available, I can open a new account or topup. Please try for me.

Hi could you please elaborate on what this means ?
And which ASX is this for ?
*
This is for the ASM book. Previously the ASM book does not have nab seunit. With this new book, they have nab seunit, IN CASE FP change to VP, they are ready.

Yes, ever since ASM has changed the passbook, it doesn't really seemed right to me..

I was like believing that it would be converted to VP anytime..

Hopefully its just my ''thinking too much'' or ''worried too much'' perspective..
*
ASW2020 and as1m also changing book la. One should worry too much as we should always think of worse case scenario and come up with contingency plan. smile.gif
