wah suddenly become active.. anyhow Fixed Price Funds is lower risk than Variable Price fund when there's market uncertainty.. yes, both would have some effect on dividend (lower divdend) but u won't lose on the units price for Fixed ASx so guys, if u have $$ now. u better try to top up your Fixed Price ASx. u might not get the chance like now of getting the units quite easily

QUOTE(plumberly @ Jun 19 2015, 07:52 AM) One idea. I usually have this staff dealing with my transaction. No offence to him, he is not really the helpful type. So what did I do? Tell him off? No lah. What I did is this. I change my time going there. They rotate staff for the morning and afternoon sessions. I managed to open my daughter's account with the helpful afternoon session staff. Ha. So, try this. hmm it might work but what if both morning & afternoon sessions staff unhelpful type so it's depend on your luck & maybe the staff mood on that day

QUOTE(Sunny zombie @ Jun 19 2015, 07:03 PM) i am just wonder, is it most of the malay purchase these funds, and second thought come to my mind, why no shariah compliance?? well it's kinda hard to be shariah compliance but they're going towards that way in future according to report 75% of investment already shariah compliance, only balance are not (maybe because of banks stock like Maybank which the fund are top shareholder)

QUOTE(Ramjade @ Jun 19 2015, 07:15 PM) So how about say MrX have 10000 units to sell and MrY wants the 10000 units. So MrX and MrY go together to the counter. MrX sell, MrY buy up the 10000 units straight away. Will that work? Well there's some "time lag" when one withdraw & the units available to system for others to grab

QUOTE(aeiou228 @ Jun 20 2015, 11:57 AM) No time lag. The system has to be in real time. Cash withdrawal and cash deposit made are serious money matters, and transactions printed on passbook in real time, can not time lag. Time lag is an excuse for the counter staff to shuu you away. No Time lag? Actually the "time lag" thingy was mention by one our fellow forummer, not from counter staff.. but He didn't mention how long the time lag? edit: found it. QUOTE(aeiou228 @ Jun 20 2015, 02:40 PM) Like I said before, I "bought" units from other unit holders and I had successfully done sell and buy "cashless contra" transactions several times from account A to account B in large amount and in real time. It wouldn't be possible to do "cash contra" at the bank's counter if there is such thing as time lag. Anyway, time lag or not, it doesn't really matters now. As more unit holders relinquish their holdings due to lower confidence factor towards gov linked funds and units are now more easily available compare to last time. okay and yeah nowadays don't need to worry about unit availablity but need to worry not enuf $$

QUOTE(plumberly @ Jun 20 2015, 03:43 PM) Just speaking my mind here and hope to get some enlightening idea here. Ha. I have ASM & AS1M. My wife and kids have one each, either ASM, ASW or AS1M. Question is, should we get the other ASX which we each don't have? Why? ASW has a slightly higher dividend rate than the rest. But now they are all coming to the same level. So, my lazy muscles tell me no need to get more, as long as each of us has at least one ASX account. Your view? Cheerio. in my opinion, better to get all 3 if possible.. because u can "spread out" your $$ into 3 account & the dividend reinvested is in 3 different month of the year.. when u needed the $$, u can chose which one have the least effect (loss) on dividend to withdraw but if u die2 cannot open new account.. than what to do.. juz focus on 1 account only & make it so big than some people would jump 14 floor
