my 2 years plus old Michelin XM2 eco tyre is showing rubber harden sign...

is it normal?
do this cover under warranty?
tread is still good...

i went back to shop and ask.
Explanation given was blaming i hardly drive, where park most of the time despite i home-work daily have 60KM distance...

Any tyre expert pls give some pencerahan. notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

updates:

the manufacturing date is 3412. Aug 2012, purchased in Nov 2012.

Updated with drillz.

Updates: today (16 Feb 2015)

i made a FB complains to Michelin, and today was the appointment for checking.
2 personnel from Michelin, checking, and asking A-Z about my tyres...

final conclusion: They offering XX% of my XM2 value based on the remaining thread on tyres.

decided not to take the offer, as i was assured its still safe to drive, expected another 1 year to drive on my current tyre.

Not directly affected whether you drive or not, but if you park the car long time the pressure point applies to the same area which means more stress on that area.

Tyre harden is due to environment, the only way to claim their 6 years warranty is when you see significant cracks or unnatural chips on the threads.

If shop don't give claim can try claim from michelin, if michelin buat pasal, paste on their fb page.

normal la for Michelin xm2.. i got few friend using the tire, after 1-2 years, the tire become harden. so never choose xm2 unless u got budget for sp3 (sport pilot 3). else for eco type tire, u can choose yokohama c drive 2..
