QUOTE(MilitaryMadness @ Feb 6 2015, 11:00 PM) Reports say 2 Ukraine Air Force Su-24 shot down near Debaltsevo MT-LB with Novorossya flag armed with Strela SAM systemUnconfirmed reports say 2 Ukrainian Air Force Su-24 'Frogfoot' ground attack planes were shot down yesterday after attempting to attack the pro-Russian separatist positions encircling Debaltsevo. The losses would undoubtedly be a major loss for the Ukraine government forces. Military experts say the pro-Russian separatists have, with Russian materiel and technical support, established a relatively comprehensive anti-aircraft 'umbrella' over much of the important and strategic locations in the DNR and LNR. Experts speculate the introduction of increased numbers of Buk M1 medium-range SAM and Igla short-range missiles from Russia have turned the airspace over the DNR and LNR as a "virtual no-fly zone". Ukraine is losing both air and ground battles, pro-russian rebels is now even supported with panstir system

QUOTE(MilitaryMadness @ Feb 6 2015, 11:15 PM) A bit suspicious, Pantsir seems too advanced to be supplied to ukraine separatists. It's akin to supplying them the latest T-90 tanks instead of T-64 made in the 1970s. It would be too obvious to deny or ignore, instead of supplying them older systems to maintain 'plausible deniability' i.e "They were captured from ukraine government armory". Latest map of separatist gains. Note the winter offensives also gaining much territories the coastal southeastern regions, with mariupol being the main prize, possibly indicating separatists trying to capture major ports that might be used to receive seaborne supplies from Russia in addition to the shared land borders. Not a secret anymore that the separatist were backed by the russia after all, ukraine's one and only best chance to hold their territory is to join nato or receive anonymous backing by nato at least

5th generation stealth helicopter developed by russia QUOTE According to russian media, Russian Helicopters JSC is developing a 5th generation stealth helicopter.
Two of the major designing offices in the country, Mil and Kamov have two different versions of it: Mil is proposing an one-rotor craft while Kamov a two-rotor version, commented Mr. Shibitov (Executive Counselor).
While details have not been made public, the general requirements by the military are estimated to be the following:
-lightness
-quiet
-low observability
-two pilots (tandem configuration, possibly)
-long range
-intelligent weapon control system
-fighting against aircrafts
-max speed of 500-600 km/h
-ground analysis systems for trails of passing vehicles or troops
-artificial intelligence [Defence blog]

QUOTE(MilitaryMadness @ Feb 7 2015, 09:58 PM) US armed, trained Ukrainian army can seize all of Russia-Mikhail ShakaashviliHahaha you mean the Shakaashvili who has US-armed and trained Georgian military thought they could take on the Russians in 2008 and got his entire armed forces smashed in just 48 hours? Yeah, because all that US arms and training he advocates Ukraine get now did his military such good results? Russian soldiers with captured US-made M4 carbines of the Georgian militaryAlso the one who fled his country right after he lost an election and is currently wanted in his home country for corruption, abuse of power and suspicion of political murders? Obviously he is an impartial voice of reason against authoritarianism, a great pillar of democracy. Giler wet dream, only one enemy successfuly invades russia.. the mongols

QUOTE(thpace @ Feb 10 2015, 02:13 AM) well, we will see on LIMA. I would still say heli like little bird will come instead of a full fledged attack heli which will be on another separate plan The initial plan was for a armed heli gunship instead of a anti-tank heli. More of anti-personnel. MD 540A the latest version of the "little bird" will appear on lima 2015 QUOTE MD Helicopters debuts at LIMA15 with famous “Little Bird” MD Helicopters, known from the “Little Bird” helicopter based on the legendary Hughes 500 design – will debut on this year’s LIMA’15 Maritime and Aerospace event in Langkawi, Malaysia. The contribution was confirmed by Mr. Ahmad Dzuhri, Managing Director of the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition. It will give the American manufacturer another opportunity to promote its newest MD 540A. The light attack helicopter has a single engine and is especially handy as a relatively low-cost solution for armed aerial escort, special operations and close air support. Among its standard weaponry are Hellfire missiles, guided rockets, 7.62 mm and .50 caliber machine guns. OH-6 Cayuse The MD Helicopters family includes the twin-engine MD Explorer and other single engine versions of the MD 600N, MD 520N, MD 500E, MD530F and MD 530G. Especially the MD500 series is popular amongst law enforcement agencies in the US. Moreover, the Afghan Air Force ordered 12 new choppers based on the US Army’s OH-6 Cayuse last year plus the weaponization of all 17 MD530Fs in Afghan Air Force service. Asia In Asia military Defender versions of the type are in use by the Japan Ground Self Defense Force and the Republic of China Navy (Taiwan). [Airheadsfly]

Block II Super Hornet F/A-18F for MRCA? QUOTE MRCA: Boeing Speaks…SHAH ALAM: AS I am chasing a significant development in the MRCA programme, Boeing has decided to update its offer for the project. According to Bernama, “The Boeing Company has a distinct advantage over its competitors in offering its Super Hornet jet fighter deal to Malaysia as the aircraft represents an “extremely affordable” offering over the long-term. QUOTE(waja2000 @ Feb 12 2015, 10:46 PM) only shot range c5 version we got ..... not even version C7 yet .... Yup we have the c5 standard export version, c7 is only for close allies like sinkie kinda funny the news is to kill pirates and terrorist, they can fly now? QUOTE Singapore Buys AMRAAMs To Kill Pirates and TerroristsThe DSCA announcement for the AMRAAM sale cited Singapore’s “contributions to counter-piracy and counterterrorism efforts” that “continue to stabilize a critical chokepoint where much of the world’s goods and services transit en route to and from the Asia Pacific region.” It is unclear how the Singaporeans will use 100 AMRAAMs against pirates and terrorists, and the DSCA announcement fails to mention other possible potential enemies, such as Indonesia and Malaysia who are also interested in procuring U.S. fighters and weapons. Singapore has always shied away from identifying potential threats from Indonesia and Malaysia. As one U.S. defense analyst in Singapore said, “As I said to others, one AMRAAM could’ve taken out Johnny Depp and the entire Pirates of the Caribbean.”[DefenceNews]
