I am not sure thise high end coating can withstand scratch or stone chips .it like more towards to protect the paint and endure the glossy looks for a long time.
I would prefer install those protection film espcially on front bumper and hood.

It's a layer to protect your paint...but what protects your layer?? You need to keep going back to the shop for regular maintenance every 6 months or so. Only for hardworking people....not for lazy people (like me).

You need to repair and respray stone chip and pebble damage area as well. No point applying it unless you are showcar la.

Its two sides of a coin, after coating - its easier to clean and care for the car, wash is reduce to water and wipe only, and you can see droplets of water, which is easier to wipe also reduce watermark....but still it wont last for 5 years, mine last for max 3 years +....and now considering repaint...if you really care for your car by all means go for it...certainly not for the budget conscious...

I did nano coating on my car too. It's easier to wipe and clean as mentioned above, it will be like water droplets if you splash water. Just wipe. Your car will be looking shine all the time. The shop said it will lasting for 5 years. I just coat my car for a year and counting. Im using meguiar's product btw

According to the test done by wetshine, coatings don't do well in the rainy Malaysian weather because they are more prone to waterspotting compared to waxes/sealants. The conclusion is in the comments as the tester did not want to continue with the blog entry for coatings. Waxes/sealants don't hold well/last long on coated surfaces so owners must wash/more often to get the waterspotting under control. Or just let leave the spots there and let the coating act as a sacrificial layer until it wears off. Edit- add the link: https://wetshinedotnet.wordpress.com/2011/0...st-application/This post has been edited by derail: Feb 25 2015, 11:31 AM

Most of the time swirl and mar cause by wrong washing method. Can you maintain to wash yourself or send back to the coating shop? After coating, you need to follow the proper way to maintain it. Warranty may void if you fail to do so. Better clarify this. Another question is you willing to spend 3k++ for polish and coating? If your car get scratched and go for polish, meaning the coat is gone and re-coat is not cheap.

QUOTE(jack2 @ Feb 25 2015, 01:25 PM) Not really understand well. The conclusion is? Coating retain more waterspots and polishing more often to get rid of the waterspots degrade the expensive coating. So be prepared to live with more waterspots if you want the coating to last. Waxes and other lsp don't last as long (cannot stick) either on coatings so thats another drawback for detailers. Some lsp's under the same brand might do better as a topper on a coating, which could be a way to get customers to visit the shop more often if the lsp is not sold in retail outlets.

Because It adds another sacrificial layer of cleaR coat. If you love your car. By all means go for it. Repainting is never better than your stock paint. Trust me. Unless accidents happens that we cannot foresee.

Got my car in April, when straight for Ceramic Pro coating. No regrets, so much easier to clean and I only wash it once or twice a month. If it's slightly dirty, just use feather duster to clear any sand particles then wipe with damp cloth, that's it. Wrapping my roof black certainly helps cut down my cleaning time. 5 yrs warranty, no yearly maintenance needed. Can go back for coating if any part of the body went thru repaint due to accident. QUOTE(SoFlush @ Jul 1 2017, 02:39 AM) coating is just like a longer lasting wax, alot of factor comes into play how long your layer of coating last. to make it really, really, REALLY last - do monthly hand-waxing yourself (no machine as it will slowly strip down the coating layer) monthly, because wax don't really last on top of a nanocoating layer, it's already a very smooth nonporous surface. coating and waxing will look extremely sharp on a black car, no other common on-road car colour can match the gloss/shine/deep black mirror effect of a well maintained BLACK car. hoho.... a fair claim about black cars but damn.. really a pita to maintain....

black, looks the nicest, but a absolute nightmare to maintain, most shiny, glossy black car owners have their maid wash it 2 times weekly.
and on the road, 95% of the black cars are very poorly maintained, no gloss, no mirror effect at all.
