Loan - 3 banks only maybank/cimb/rhb. all 3 got promotion. but personally i prefer maybank. easier to pay via m2u.

ASW cant open. no unit available. if you want to try your luck in case any unit available, go early to asnb office in jalan tun razak, kl or shah alam if you in klang valley. SOMETIME, if you are lucky, they have some unit that have been sold by people that you can buy.

GOOD LUCK!

nope. you cant asked a third party to open for you since they need your signature on the passbook.

the only time they allow is for guardian/parents to open for their child (age below 12 for asb and below 18 for ASW/ASD etc).

hi, newbie here, my recommendation is....
(1) don't take ASB loan..very rugi, yes it's an investment but 'u make saving for bank'.
(2) apply for personal loan from bank rakyat or koperasi which their interest is about 5%-6%, then invest into ASB..
if that year ASB giving out 9% bonus+dividen, u still profit 3 or 4%.
(3) convert your ASB value into their sijil ASB, then bring the cert to local bank (RHB), go for OverDraft ASB..
means u cagarkan that cert for money. u only pay the OD interest every month which calculated daily rest.
(4) eventho the cert with RHB, u still can get the ASB dividend and at the same time use OD money to settle ur debts ie CC,
study loan, etc,etc.

just my 10 cents nod.gif

dont really get it for step 3& 4.
isnt that you still owe the bank rakyat n koperasi?

ok, if I have a ASB Cert worth RM10K.
Overdraft it with RHB bank(Cash out the RM10K?).
So I have RM10K from RHB Bank, then go pay the other loan like the bank rakyat loan?

Erm, with ASB cert in OD, how can I still receive the ASB dividend money ler?

Can you give some calculated example?

ASM declares 7.8 sen income distribution

KUALA LUMPUR: Amanah Saham Nasional Bhd has declared a higher income distribution of 7.8 sen per unit for its Amanah Saham Malaysia (ASM) for financial year ending March 31, 2008 from 6.8 sen previously.

Permodalan Nasional Berhad's (PNB) chairman Tan Sri Ahmad Sarji Abdul Hamid said the income distribution would involve a total payout of RM450.78 million, up by 61.3 per cent from RM279.47 million last year.

"The income distribution will be reinvested in additional units of ASM, to be automatically credited into the unit holders' accounts on Apr 1, 2008," he said in announcing the income distribution here today.

PNB said up until March 26, 2008, ASM has recorded a 55.59 per cent increase in gross income to RM534.52 million from RM343.55 million in the financial year ended March 31, 2007.

"Dividend income from investments made throughout the year contributed RM236.03 million, or 44.16 per cent, of the gross income.
"Profit from the sale of shares contributed RM215.04 million, or 40.23 per cent, and the remaining income of RM83.45 million, or 15.61 per cent, was derived from investments in short-term investments," it said.

Launched in 2002, ASM, which is an Equity-Income Fund, is aimed at providing unit holders with a long-term investment opportunity that generates regular and competitive returns through a diversified portfolio of investments.

Up until March 26, 2008, 314,608 unit holders have invested in a total of 5.78 billion units of ASM.

I would like to warned that Bank Rankyat's loan of 5-6% is normally calculated differently from Banks that quote Blr -1 etc. as Bank Raknyat or others that appears low are because they quote Flat rate. Please compare the actual monthly payment than the %.

ASB loan is good ONLY if you don't have ANY MONEY to invest in the 1st place at all. its NOT a good way to maximize profit from ASB. but still better than none.

I am not really sure, what I have "heard" is Amanah saham National got many investment like ASB, ASW, ASM, ASD etc etc, if they make any profit they will put the most profit into ASB 1st, then only distribute the profit to the rest, that's why ASB is the most divident gained among all ASN investment.
