I'm 26 and I played a lot of WoW when I lived back home. I would say thay when you are talking about wow there are a lot of older players. We hade some 30+ and even 40+ players in our guild. When it comes to console playing I play much less now than I did 10 years ago. Kinda sad though but when I was younger it was the only thing I did. Now I have so much other things to do! smile.gif

I'm 28, and still play games regularly - console mostly.

Started back in the day with Intellivision that my dad got us. It looked kinda like a fat PS2 but had these huge catridges. Had so much fun with that!

Then the first PC was an Apple - had those large diskettes to play games and had to flip-them from Disk 1 and 2. I think kids nowadays won't know what those diskettes are!

So all through the years, and different PCs and played games, finally shifted to console gaming a few years ago. Still have some PC games - especially RPG though (Neverwinter Nights 2 etc)

I keep wondering when I'll stop playing - because it's a double whammy, my age and my gender. My mom finds it amusing that I'm such a hardcore gamer.

I'm 25, played mostly on PC games, got my PS2 only 2 years ago. When i was in uni, had lots of friends playing games, we setup our own LAN and battle it out for hours to no end. We are even crazy enough to go LAN an hour b4 the finals. But now working, most of my friends are no longer into gaming. We still chat and hang out but gaming was never a topic. And coz of my work, i can only play for a few hours on weekdays. On weekends, if its not an emergency, knock the other door.

Maybe its just my experience, but the ppl around me kinda look down on gaming, like its a phase of life that u need to grow up from. I mean, i work, pay the bills, pay my taxes, just that i decide to put gaming a priority. They're into cars, im into PC hardwares, they meet new people, i meet new people every day from across the globe.

Iam 28 too, not so much into games already as the more time i put into games, my gf manja me lesser... >.<

Even though me n my gf are gamers, we play generally different games... iam an RPGer... she's a Puzzle Gamer, also a Horror Gamer... my gf used to play horror games on PS2 alone in the hall at midnight while i played FFXI upstairs with my computer... She never gets frightened by those frightening stuffs in those games. Eg: the Camera horror game, forgotten what's d game was called...

There's this one time when she shouts for me for supper, and she's halfway in that game... while making supper, she asks me if i can continue for her... so i did... then i got freaked out by the horrific ambience and the vibration of the joystick when a ghost crawled out from a cupboard on the floor like the Grudge "Zhen Zi" crawled out from the TV... >.< (mother xxxker !@#$%^&*)

I think in my early days in gaming, my mom shielded me alot from my grandparents when i was gaming too hard during school holidays. Back in 1994, i was playing FFV(original cartridge wor...hoho) on SNES for 12 hours straight for as long as the holiday goes...

I'm also toned down a lot on games compared to the old days, but I can't say I'm really a hardcore gamer all along (hitting 20 next year). Remember started to play games with those huge black diskettes on the computer too, followed by cartridges games (was that Famicom?). Remembered playing Street Fighter, Contra and those simple games (100 in 1) day in and day out without getting bored.

Next on was the PC, could replay FFVII and VIII about 15 times before I had to do some serious studying for PMR and SPM. Good thing I didn't become an addict cause my family restricted me from online games and wouldn't get me a PS/PS2 till after my SPM. Now in Uni but still can't find the time to play *Sigh*

But I do know of older people overseas that are pretty much hardcore gamers who are willing to skip work to play FFXII and wait in line for PS3.

Im 25....juz turned 25...haha. Well, i started playing the Game Boy first. I got it from the US. It came wit a Tetris cartridge, stereo earphone, and a cable to connect 2 game boys. Kinda cool to play tetris head to head.
After dat, came the Micro Genius. Its made in Taiwan. Bought it in Spore. The cartridges are damn expensive. i remembered paying 99 bucks for a Super Mario 3.
Then came the 16 bit consoles that 'promised' arcade games experience. Hehe. I chose to buy the Sega Megadrive. Im not really Satisfied wit it coz when i compared it to my friend's Super Nintendo, its kind of...suck...haha.
Then, i still remembered i cant concentrate on my PMR exams because of the Playstation. I got bad marks becoz of it...haha. Few years after that, I bought the Dreamcast. I thot this is it...a console dat is worth buying at last. But unfortunately not...its a great console but...unexpected things happenned. Hav to sell it to buy PS2.
I still play the PS2....and now recently, i got my hands on the 360. I will buy PS3, but not in the near future...haha.
The most important thing is....i cant live without video games. I will not stop playing...haha. Most people tell me....Come on lah, ur too old to play games...ur not a small kid....hahaha. That is where their wrong. Video games are not juz for kids. Its for us adults as well. Most gamers are 18 years and above....right guys?

LOL. Interesting thread. 25 years old, reporting in, barely making the cut. I game because daily work is just too mundane. Yes, repetitive task easily bores me. Gaming for me is much like watching in the cinema, the immersive-ness heightens my senses.

Actually, i'm quite bore with games already...nowadays too much concentration with graphics and hardware ....but the games are still the same...only looks prettier, doesn't play any better.

That's why i guess i'm not excited about the next gen....except maybe Wii.

I agreed to ya. If both could have common interest and play together sharing one tv will be ideal. However, if both have thier own interest and spending time with thier own tv and games might not be healthy for relationship in long term.

My GF doesn't play video game. However, I am glad she will leave me alone when I'm gaming. Then again, can't take full advantage of it and have to spend time with her.

Hate it when you are so hook up with a game (recently FFXII) and you feel like spending 24 hours work on it but GF tak happy doh.gif

A 30 year old gamer here. Started at 11 with Micro Genius (ciplak NES) - Super Nintendo - Dreamcast - Playstation - XBox - Playstation 2 - PSP & 3 PC's (P2, Athlon & P4).

I used to play long hours too but it came nearly to a standing halt these past 2 years. Now slowly playing Magic : The Gathering Online. Full time kaki hifi though.
