no worry on the credit card

i personally use ocbc mastercard to swipe cosmetic and etc....no problem (swipe almost RM3k)

but best is to call ur bank , inform them that u will be going to japan ...(this is what i do b4 go to japan)
just in case suddenly ur card cannot be use in japan.

Have to go Bangkok first then used AirAsiaX Thai to Sapporo.
Because Current Aircraft A330-300 cannot direct fly from KL to Sapporo. Not enough range unless AirAsiaX bring back the A340-300 or getting new A350

Mt Aso was alive volcano. Driving // Train also reach Cable car station only. Then taking cable car up. Train abit more leceh because from Fukuoka > Oita (Via Limited Express) // Kumamoto (Via Kyushu Shinkansen) first then change another Train (Hohi Main Line) to Aso Station then shuttle bus 700Yen at Aso Station to cable car station (Aso Nishi Station).

Driving terus to cable car station via highway.

For me I prefer Train. Hohi Main line view was staggering.

last trip i was driving to okunikko to see snow!!
super good experience with it and their driving manner is so GOOD!!!
at highway like no speed limit, slow lane also 110km/h, high speed lane 160km/h++

petrol not that expensive, but the toll is very expensive!

still never went to hokkaido......
orang sabah here, we need to transit to klia2 to haneda.......
if transit again really painful
and my last trip, flight delay, reach there at 1am with no any limo bus......
ride a taxi cost me 10000 yen to ikebukuro, which only 40min ride...........

I still prefer AAX to Kansai then from Kansai used Peach Airline to Sapporo.

If luxury then fly ANA , JAL or EVA to Sapporo. Transit at Narita , Taipei

I wont take any airline that country never having snow.

This have to depend your Travel Insurance cover policy. Some including Flight delay some don't.
But most Insurance Delay start count 5 - 12 hour above. Less Than 5 Hour you cannot claim anything. Depend how premium you buy your insurance. Even the world most premium one also start as 5 hour delay.

You are welcome. Just reread your post again that you plan to go to Hakone too, I went to Hakone as well. Recommend you to take Romance car and Free Pass. The free pass here means unlimited times for their rides and not percuma. laugh.gif You can Google about this. It's kinda a long journey and going through the pain of stopping every single stop is not fun, so top up 890 yen per trip per person for Romance car is really worth for it. The total journey was around 1 1/2 hours, non-stop though. I bought my tickets from Odakyu booth in Shinjuku station. You can reserve seats and if you can't get the so called panaroma view, please get the right side window, you can see Mount Fuji during the journey. I only paid for one journey, and coming back I used the normal Odakyu line. smile.gif

About credit card, I always call banks before I leave for overseas however I was too busy this time and totally forgot about it! This time I only used my Maybank credit card and Maybank did try to call me after my first swipe in Japan. To cut story short, call banks and inform them before you leave. smile.gif

I just came back from Japan on Saturday's night and reached here last Sunday's morning. tongue.gif I think my memory still serves me well. laugh.gif
