I suppose u take bullet train from Tokyo to takayama. Try to stop at Nagoya for a few hours. The tour bus is just outside the train station. Can go to Nagoya castle

Cannot. Then you need 2 night at Toyama if you plan going Kurobe Gorge.

Going Tateyama Alpine route must move from Dentetsu-Toyama Station most earliest Toyama Chihō Railway train.

my idea was depart from takayama early morning to Toyama town, leave baggage in the hotel and head to Kurobe Gorge for a day trip and back to Toyama town and check in into hotel after that, and spend a night in the town. (yet to decide where to stay is more convenient, Toyama town or near Unazukionsen)

The next day morning will depart to the Alpine Route.

Please suggest biggrin.gif

Toyama Town.
From Unazukionsen then you can forget about tateyama Alpine route. From here after you heading back to Toyama already waste so much time. from Toyama to tateyama Station again...you lost 1/4 day. You cannot complete Tateyama Alpine route already.....must overnight on half way which is very very super expensive.

Depart from Takayama early morning to Toyama town, leave baggage in the hotel and head to Kurobe Gorge for a day trip and back to Toyama town and check in into hotel after that, and spend a night in the town.
This idea working but cannot fully enjoy Kurobe Gorge.

TQ for the advice. what do u mean by cannot fully enjoy, mind explaining?
I already anticipate the sky gonna be dark early during october (?) so I don't think I can stay long at Kurobe Gorge. probably at most 3 hrs.

Time factor.
From Takayama to Toyama taking fastest JR ''Hida'' Limited Express. This Express got it own timing....you have to waste sometime to suit it timetable. After reaching Toyama you need put down luggage , Lunch....another wasting time.......From Toyama to Unazuki Onsen Station need 1 hour 40 minute by Toyama Chiho main Line
Or
30 - 40 Minute if you taking JR Hokuriku Shinkansen from Toyama to Kurobe Unazaki Onsen Station then change to Toyama Chiho main line again to Unazuki Onsen Station.

This Toyama Chiho Main Line train was less.....waiting this train arrived is like waiting our KTM Train....unlucky u need wait 1 hour

Kurobe Gorge small train journey 2 hour......from Kurobe Unazaki Onsen Station to Keyakidaira Station
You need counting your heading back Toyama journey timing also........

Ends up how much time you left at Kurobe Gorge?

But your time will also waste alot from Osaka > Nagoya > Takayama compare Osaka > Kanazawa
Weakness is always there

If you plan was Osaka>Takayama>Shirakawago>Kanazawa in one day. Then you won't enjoy Shirakawago
100% I guarantee due to time factor reason

I already got the full refund from AirAsiaGo. 1238 (tickets for 2) + 587 (hotel for 6D5N) due to the cancellation of Nagoya route.
Thank God!
Thought that I'll never be refunded based on so many previous cases.
