Sadly i just agreed to the RM169 VIP10 deal for a new 2 years contract , i would prefer 119 for VIP5 if i decided to stay with TM .

Btw saw few MaxisFibre Offer contract starts at RM128 (if not wrong) for their 10Mbps plan before this , the lowest rate they have with fibre once reached RM118 10Mbps .

Still better than mine. 179 since last year rclxub.gif

You use speedtest and test it out.

I test in Singapore server, it's extremely slow now. I got only like 90KB/s from my 10MPs unifi.

Something is wrong tonight.

Same here. Videos quite slow

Nope no further info on this.

If no capping 10MB is enough for home users ..
*
If not mistaken during unifi launching (2010?) the capping is 60gb monthly for vip5, 90gb for vip10 and 120gb for vip20. But the plan was scrapped due to public feedback. Honestly, it should be unlimited download since we are paying so much for internet in malaysia.

Hi guys. Unifi VIP5 user here.

I have been having this issue of getting slow speed and high pings on my PC when there's an ipad being used. I have two Ipad users at home. The ping can reach up to 700-900 and speed drop to roughly 1-2mbps. Recently my bro just brought back an Macbook which also giving me the same headache.

Thing is, I have read that Apple products tend to actually take more bandwidth thus making me having less and have to endure the slow speed. Is this true? If so, how do I fix this without them actually disconnecting from the line.

Recently, just 1 Ipad made my speed dropped to 0.2mpbs and spiked to 1k ping. It is really getting on my nerves and I need a solution to fix this issue ASAP.

Thanks.
*
Not sure with this issue even though i am using a pc, 2 iphones, an ipad and macbook air at home. Also an android box running axxtro. Perhaps u can try change the wireless channel or dns?

your current setup side by side is modem <--- LAN cable ---> router, right?

just the LAN cable part, buy two piece of powerline adapter

modem <--- LAN cable ---> powerline adapter 1
router <--- LAN cable ---> powerline adapter 2

the two powerline adapter will talk to each other biggrin.gif

I have this in my own landed house where my modem is upstairs, my router is downstairs using powerline adapter...

so far stable and no issue, refer here for some people discussing powerline https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1773859/all
*
Didnt know this is possible. Only use powerline for hypptv. By the way, can we use 2 sets of powerline? For instance 1 set for modem-router and another for router-hypptv? Will there be interference?

Hey all, just a quick question. I'm currently using the stock UNIFI router, white/orange. If I change to a more expensive router such as Linksys or Asus, what benefits do I actually get?

Because now, everything seems ok and there are no disconnections.

Want to know the answer too!

Just bought my asus n56u.. Im playing bf;hardline, initially with the stock modem, whenever im in party, and someone speak, the game will lag.. Now it run smoothly..

2. I have a nas. So everything under one place. With the 5ghz + ipad air 2.. The speed is superb..
And i notice if i connect and download on 5ghz ( my ipad 2, air 2, iphone) although im downloading something. The 2.4ghz (ps4 and pc) seems to be not affected..

3.Asus also got cloud apps which quite similar to nas.. But i just plug in 8gb of pendrive just to try, not as nice as seagate central..

4. Also on 5ghz, using ipad the download speed can go up to 3.9MB/s wheres 2.4ghz only 3.0MB/s

There is no technicality in my reasoning. Just based on my opinion and what i feel. Hehe
*
Nice review! But the price is quite expensive. Any review for price below 200?

I've been very disappointed by TM. As a old customer, i was offered upgrade from VIP5 to VIP10 at a price of RM179.

My friend who just installed unifi for few months was offered a better price at RM159. I saw some subscriber was offered RM169.

How can TM treat old customer like this. Sad sad.gif
*
TM like to screw the customers. Haih I wish TIME is available at my place in the future..
