QUOTE(hafizushi @ Jul 13 2015, 04:25 PM) Hmm i received the email too saying RM199 for 30mbps, but when scroll back someone said they went to ask at tmpoint saying 30mbps only RM 169 The e-mail is more like a registration of interest only right, does not take you to any application page. RM169 is the 30mbps plan but you will be forced to take a HyppTV package for another RM30 making the total price RM199 (excl GST).

QUOTE(ctwl368 @ Jul 13 2015, 04:49 PM) I am considering on whether to go with unifi or timebroad band. the apt i am staying has both. I was told that time broadband they will actually drill and pull the fibre optic cable into your house. while for unifi, i believe they will be using the copper phone line. Which would you recommend to go with based on the performance, stability, etc? I am currently on 1MB Streamyx. Thanks If I'm not wrong TM's international peering is better so overall I guess UniFi will still have a bit more edge over TIME. However if you want Astro as well then TIME will be the obvious choice since you'll save more with the IPTV package. This post has been edited by OKLY: Jul 13 2015, 04:54 PM

QUOTE(skincladalien @ Jul 13 2015, 04:55 PM) so if i currently on 10mpbs with hyyptv at RM199 excl GST it will be no increase right? Yes, it's like tripling your download speed with more HyppTV channels with no extra charges. The catch is the slower upload speed at 5mbps and no more unlimited free calls to other TM numbers.

QUOTE(Kings7 @ Jul 13 2015, 05:19 PM) new unifi user can apply for 30mbps @ rm199??? Shouldn't be a problem as long as your area is within the coverage, and application must be done at TMPoint.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Jul 13 2015, 07:59 PM) I just noticed I have received the email from TM today about upgrading to 30Mbps. Anybody else? I'm not sure it's a blast email to all subscribers. RM 199+6% GST. Should I? If it's 169, I will take it with no hesitation. I'm on mobile now, will share the ad here later. Yes, majority of us should have received it but might be in the spam folder, I found out about it from /k. However this email is just a registration of interest and they will contact back within 3 days.

QUOTE(angel-girl @ Jul 14 2015, 09:08 AM) i just renew my contract with 50mbps and just got to know they capped the upload speed to 10mbps only ...aiks... I think 10mbps of upload is still not too bad, much better than 30mbps download with 5mbps but still will be adequate depending on usage.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Jul 14 2015, 09:48 AM) If I frequently stream YouTube and other video sites, will the reduction of upload speed to 5Mbps affect the streaming experience? Unlikely, especially when you are the only one using the connection as well.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Jul 14 2015, 09:58 AM) Alright. It is really strange that I'm not streaming well for 1080p contents on YouTube, sometimes it will still buffer. Is it normal for 10Mbps? I believe it is normal because YouTube (Google) uses CDN to deliver their contents. "A content delivery network (CDN) is a system of distributed servers (network) that deliver webpages and other Web content to a user based on the geographic locations of the user, the origin of the webpage and a content delivery server."So sometimes you might not be connected to a server that is nearest to you and thus the speed will be affected resulting in frequent buffering of the video.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Jul 14 2015, 03:13 PM) Does anyone who have registered the interest via the email link, has received call from TM? Nope not yet, registered interest yesterday evening. Also with the Raya celebration coming, I think there might some slight delay in contacting those who registered.

30mbps shouldn't be slower than 20mbps unless something is wrong at their router's settings like QoS etc.

As they will still be new in Malaysia, I'd say they would need about 2 years or so to mature, so just nice if UniFi's contract is renewed now.

QUOTE(kobe8byrant @ Jul 15 2015, 09:34 AM) Hi guys Was wondering if you have seen price cuts for VIP10? Because there was an announcement on LowYat forum front page saying that VIP10 will reduce price from 15 July 2015 but I have yet to see any place where I can apply at this price? Thanks. I guess it will be reflected for those billing date after 15th, have to wait and see.
