that theres going to be a cheaper version of the unifi 30 and 50 come september. i think we need double confirmation on this matter

but sounds like that september deal won't require any additional hypptv channels, so is cheaper.

No rumors from credible sources for UniFi 30 or 50 without HyppTV package so can't jump to conclusion also.

No need to change ur Unifi phone number also?

Right, if there's no hurry to get the upgrade then should wait until September, no harm in waiting.

my area dun even offer Unifi yet... stuck with Streamyx 8MB.

To name these two:
My hometown - Port Dickson, a famous touristy place. Other major telcos except UM already have 4G...
My sister's house which is at Seremban 2 area, the biggest township in Seremban... Next to her taman has but not her taman. Those orang kaya at her taman who drive Porsche, Merc and etc all still struggle with Streamyx.

The new one looks pretty good , but the upload speed is meh 5mbps or 10mbps

oo i actually visited port dickson very recently on my vacation. reminded me of my hometown tawau. very relaxing and quiet.

but honestly beaches weren't that great, too much pollution

yeah it felt a bit run down in port dickson. so i'm not that shocked there is lack of unifi there.

wah... even seremban also.... did you make a report to tmnut asking when they will offer unifi to your area ? Back when unifi was very new, this was what i did.

I am using 10 MB package, which has 10 MB download and 10 MB upload . I didnt realize the 30 MB VIP package has only 5 MB upload. Can I know if this will affect my online gaming? Will it improve or make it worst?

movies, tv series, music, gaming, streaming netflix, youtube, browsing the web...... all these things download is all that matters.

heck even bit torrent you don't upload max. so i reckon 5 and 10mbps upload is good enough for torrent.


only time you upload is like when

1. adding attachment files to your email
2. uploading images to imgur.com
3. torrent upload (yes you have to upload in order to download, thats how it works)
4. live stream your game over twitch.tv


Only major problem i see here is for streamers. 5mbps may not be enough even for 720p, or barely :/

50mbps dl with 10mbps seems fine for me, even when i'm streaming.


PS: in my logs, my upload is quite high, almost comparable to my download bandwidth. but this is mostly due to torrent i suspect. O.... forgot to mention upload speed could be important if your an active torrent seeder on a private tracker. to build your ratio so you can download more, you need to upload more. so a higher upload speed would help in those situations.

Not really run down leh. We have 4G for the major 3 telcos. YES is full bar and super fast.

For Seremban, yes made complaint but nothing can be done. Kept asking us to wait till it comes...

Seems like a very good deal for me. Currently on vip5 only, so whether the 30mb has only 5mb upload wun have any difference for me

Though seems like u all say going to have better deal in September, guess no harm in waiting

All those brochures showing the 30mbps package rm199, once launched dy can get the promotional price @ rm169 if we go to TMpoint or call them? Or they picked some user randomly for this price?

Edit: Currently I'm using 5mbps at 149, they called me few time ask me to upgrade to 10mbps for 169 so I wonder if they picked user themselves or anyone can get the 169 upgrade if call their hotline

Same here .. 5mbps does struggle with 1080p videos even .. I remember downloading gta 5 though .. 30-40 hours
