QUOTE(usermode @ Oct 20 2016, 01:57 PM) clean iwagumi. that's nice. i wouldn't put any background plant in that tank. but it's just me. hehehe... i'd have bigger queen stone and more sacrificial stones in there. Thanks, bro. usermode.but still, the tank would do nice too with some eleocharis vivipara or eleocharis montevidensis (if you could find it) and it's hard to go wrong with rotala green (or red if your tank spec could cope with its requirement) in term of view. just, dont make it rojak background. hahaha~ I see whether i can find anymore suitable stone or not first. If not i think i will just stick with e.vivpara on the background to try on. This tank i will just keep minimum of 2 - 3 plant only. |

My tank so far.
Don't mind the Egeria densa, i will remove it later. Currently residented with 2 tiny molly, 2 malaya shrimp, 9 boraras. Background with E.vivipara, carpet with the magic seed. I would like to add more stone, but afraid that will going to be a mess with the carpet plant. Attached thumbnail(s) |

QUOTE(usermode @ Oct 26 2016, 01:46 PM) comment on plant: trim/pull off the top part of the vivipara and replant to make it denser. it'll make ur tank look neater too. comment on scape: i'd leave out the center area empty (behind the stones) from vivipara and have it both on left and right side. since ur HOB is at the middle. the flow will help to achieve better look for the vivipara to spread like curtain. it could also helps (if not most) in creating sense of perspective later on if the effect "menjadi". hohoho~ comments on stones: changing hardscape layout after full growth is not recommended. but it's possible. 1) identify the base area to put the stone. 2) lower ur water level to 30% of the tank (70% take out). 3) if it's big stone, use knife and slice thru the carpet and pull up that section. then place ur stone. if you are changing the stone placement after put it, this will be sux for u. so do this only when u confirm the placement. 4) if small stone, just put on top of the carpet and adjust abit. no need to cut thru it (unless you're so rajin) 5) fill the water back. Soil have been disturbed and might have a chance of ammonia level to increase. so major WC is required. this is the step to cover this issue. 6) the above consider major touch-up (yes, people do this stuff sometimes). it's no biggie. just have to be mentally prepared for all the tedious process. or, u can just pull up the whole carpet, do your stone settings and replant back. you'll even have extras for sale to other hobbyist in patches (this applies for other 'natural' carpet. i dont know if can be done with magic seeds i dont know about others but seeing a carpet starts to propagate with new sprouts from underneath the soil always give me the feel of "satisfaction & excitement". But like you say, i may try to see i still got any extra stone or not. Thanks for the guidance, usermode. |

QUOTE(Punanister @ Mar 13 2017, 12:41 PM) Hey guys, my wavepoint LED light just suddenly shut off and I think it's already busted, but I wanna chcek if it's just the light itself or just the power adaptor. Anyone here who uses the same and is nearby my place(Kelana Jaya) so I can test? And can anyone recommend someoe who can DIY a light cover for my tank? Thanks guys! Last time i heard others review wavepoint LED not that good, very fast spoiled.I used once before as well, couldn't last for a half year, led started to burnt out one by one until all wipe out. |
