doesnt seem to work well? how many treatments hv u used? flea problems dont jz go away aft few treatment cos they reproduce away frm ur cat, n u need to do extra work to keep them in check.
all those drops are poisons, so better not to used so often on ur furballs. |

QUOTE(SummerSkyLuxe @ Feb 26 2018, 12:15 PM) If your cats are having fleas/ticks you have to kill them off first with frontline spray, then only proceed with the pipette once a month. twice a month?I'd say frontline spray is quite effective but not 100%. The reviews werent that great for frontline pipettes so I went with bayer advantage which is actually cheaper. I cleaned my house with industrial vacuum once a week and used bayer advantage twice a month. So far so good, fingers crossed. all these flea poison " drops " are labelled once a month treatment or 30 days. unless you are splitting the dosage into half... http://fleascience.com/wp-content/uploads/...II-for-Cats.pdf |

QUOTE(jep @ Feb 26 2018, 12:22 PM) Just adopted a Main Coon + Persian kitten about 3-4 months old..I was thinking on keeping it inside the house all the time (Landed house)..but I think it has some small fleas/tick problem when I check around it's neck and stuff..and I think I got bitten by it too..so I put it back outside in a cage and thinking of the best way to deal with it before bringing it back in... would a proper bath with a tick/fleas shampoo would do it or I need to buy a tick/fleas medication or (sooner or later) brought him to a vet for treatment? if u bring to vet they will spray it with poison like frontline etc... and charge you $$$...might as well do it yourself ..... |

QUOTE(Candlenie @ Feb 27 2018, 10:03 AM) thanks. another dumb question, how you guys spray the cat? One of my adult is so afraid of it, he struggle so much and run here and there. wear disposable gloves. 2person if cat struggleu hold the nozzle very close to the skin, by parting the furs n gently squirt abit @ places fleas like to hang out. spread the liquid using both ur hands, like massaging.. dont spray like ' spray painting a car' , so u dont get liquid 'flying' every where, into the cats eye.. etc the poison works by absorbtion into the skin into the blood.. |

QUOTE(SummerSkyLuxe @ Mar 9 2018, 09:28 AM) Guys I'm feeding my cats Prodiet brand wet food and kibbles. you feed the food tht u can afford. Their base ingredients are meat so I have a good impression of this brand. But i've heard too many ppl saying supermarket brand cat food is bad. Any feedback or thoughts on prodiet? tho the supermarket food is rated lower grade.. many cats still eating it... i looked at the ingredient list of prodiet and i concluded that they just simply hantam write the ingredient.. or in other words not being honest or specific... same as powercat... later i find the pic n show here... |

QUOTE(SummerSkyLuxe @ Mar 9 2018, 11:43 AM) you have to learn how to examine cat/dog food ingredient list and their meanings. grain free, so far i checked, Taste of the wild 6.8kg for 120RM only. so is less than 18rm/kg u buy big pack can save, n u can use huge vacuum bag from daiso to store the cat food in its original packaging. ![]() Pour out 1-2kg and store in air tight container for daily feed. Britcare - 125rm or 155rm for 7kg. contains rice. carnilove 160rm- 6kg got few other brand like fussicat, GO, ishkan etc etc./.... u need to go pet shop search not all pet shop price is the same, some mark up very high... |

i noticed that, if u want the cat to consume extra liquid, u need to give it flavoured soup for it to drink,
cos if u merely give it wet food from can, the cat will just stop drinking water from the bowl, cos it thinks that it has enough 'water'. so u need to trick it with tasty soup... |

QUOTE(kizwan @ Mar 24 2018, 12:06 AM) Cats got most of their fluids from the prey they hunted, so by their nature they tended not to drink very much. If you feeding your cat(s) with wet food, you don't need to worry whether they drink enough water because they get their fluids from the wet food. It is when your cat(s) only eat dry food, then you need to make sure they drink enough water because dry food only contain very small amount of water. what i notice is, if they eat dry food, they will drink XXX amount of water from bowl. ( these are outdoor active cats, not indoor lap cats )and if fed wet food, they will drink less from their water bowl.... as if their body can 'detect' the optimum amount of water they need.. i also checked their pee amount in the box.. tends to remain the same... low intake of water is not the sole cause of flutd.
even if cat can 'detect' their water need, it still might not be enough.. lol so if wana make sure cat get extra fluid, giv soup apart frm wet food should be the better way. indoor cat living in ac hse.. will tend to drink less water.. |
