Hi all, been giving Carnilove to my 3-month old kitten and noticed that every time she eats Carnilove, her poo is huge and smells! Not sure if it’s a good thing since Carnilove is grain-free but even the kibbles smells quite bad. sweat.gif

I’m also feeding her some wet food from Petchef.my and she seems to like it. Tried researching some reviews for Petchef.my in this forum but couldn’t find anything so it might not be that popular here?
*
foo
You feed carnilove for kitten?
Big poo means more fibre, not a bad thing, those hairball control cat food will have extra fibre. Normally carnilove have very strong smell, and cats are attracted to it, compared to other brands that have less aroma.
Petchef, of course it is better than those mass produced kibble.
Nothing to review, except we all know it is very expensive.

i bought this Farmina N&D.

https://shopee.com.my/-REPACK-Limited-Stock...6654.2704932005

after changing from carnivore this brand, my cat gained so much weight and muscles. fur also very good.
*
I'm interested to check out farmina n&d, cos previously i have bought mattisse. No online seller is selling the proper small pack. And I know seapark pets is the distributor, they might have it there at their store.

Hi all. I have a cat about 1 year 4 months old. The usual vaccination, dewormkng and neutering all done. No issues with the cat thus far. But I'm thinking of doing a blood test just for the usual general health check up. Any vets to recommend in KL? And how much does blood work usually costs? Thanks!
*
diff clinic will charge differently, even tho for the same set of test. so you better call up to ask/ check.
later i check the price i paid last year.

the normal bloodwork most clinic can do in-house.
renal, liver function have to send to lab.
fiv + felv test can do in house.

felv+fiv rm75
blood test total rm160

Thanks for the info! I'd like to do a comprehensive blood test (ie. Inclusive of renal, liver etc). Which lab did you go to? Mind recommending? smile.gif
*
depends on where you live.

'atas' clinic will charge more for the same lab test.

'up n coming/ new clinic' will charge less.

Have to shop around.

Clinic/vet will send the blood sample to the lab, gribbles or pathlab.
paid rm160 last year, results shown above.

if you adopt stray cat/kitten might wana do fiv/felv test in the clinic, cost up to rm90.

these stuff can jz do @ clinic near where you live.
I saw many new vet clinics up everywhere in klang valley now compared to over 10years ago.

starve the fler, sure will makan whtever u giv .

most cat are spoilt bcos of free feeding.

put abit food, dowan eat? take away, put again next 12hours, dowan? take away.

indoor cats can't go out eat craps, sure will work.

ur budget is rc, then carnilove sounds right, same price or cheaper, grain free summore. the smell most of the time is very strong, i've just bought chiken rabbit, but haven't open yet.

totw tarak smell, compared to other brands.

diff cat reacts to diff brands, hv to remember that.

these are frm jan til present...

Hi guys , first time post.

Very good advice! just when i " susah hati " my cats wont eat their wet food.

probaly spoiled since free feeding on dry food, got some "free gift" small packet from shopee some more, so give them as treat when playing.

They on rc and whiskas before, now on carnilove and ego cat ( free feeding both brand ),  also wet food 3 times a day.

Just got them less than 3 month ago, still experimenting which brand they like.

dont like : powercat , totw, pro diet , smartheart , brit and felix wet food , any pate wetfood, fancy feast.

they  are around 5-6 year if not mistaken.
*
y the cats like egocat but don't like totw, brit??
egocat very nice aroma?

do you have the original packaging? I'm interested to see wht is printed below.

18kg @ rm170, price is not the cheapest.

yes, those wana change food, have to take note.
I guess most carer oredi have experience in this.
some cat will have loose stool, / cirit , if they are not used to the new food. so, dont let them suffer too long.

Looks like long hair fler.

Very important to -

Train the kitten to accept handling by human, so that it will allow you to inspect n touch any part of it's body without any problem.

Eg- mandi, clip nails, touch n check the paws/celah, clean/inspect ears, check the skin, clean + brush teeth etc.

Speaking of dental health, mostly overlooked by pet owners.
Very important to start @ young age, so it will get used to teeth cleaning.
To start, use your bare index finger, to rub the side of teeth n gums, once a day, finger dip in 'treats'.
All these infos can be found online/youtube,
so i wont týpe panjang lebar here.

Recently read this sad case (local klang valley case), so please don't ignore dental health.

A good start... but...

how to 'force' cat owners to neuter/spay the cat under their care?

Can kidnap other's cat, send for spaying, after 10days then only release it back...

Hi hi first time cat owner here. I wanna ask for cat food recommendations biggrin.gif I'm currently feeding:

1. Rufus (Adult cat) - RC Vet Prescription Neutered Satiety Balance dry food.

2. Ginger (8-9 month old kitten) - RC Kitten and Blackwood Kitten dry food which he will only touch when he is really really hungry. A bit of a picky eater where he will only eat wet food (Nekko Kitten) that purely contains fish.

Could I get some recommendations that are cheaper but provides all the right nutrients for Rufus? As for the picky kiddo, are there any recommendations or tips for making him eat his dry kibbles? He hantam the older one's dry food when he knows no one is watching.

Thanks! biggrin.gif
*
If u buy rc prescription, very over price ler, sure can try other better cat food. Previously eat wht brand of food?

rc kitten i noe the smell very well,
blackwood kitten ? smell no good?
kitten go hantam rc pres, mins can compare the smell of all 3.

the purpose of the rc you are feedin, is to reduce the calorie intake, it has alot 10% of fibre, to make the cat feel full.
is d fler overweight? y vet? recomn tht food?

never trust a cat. big or small, adult or kitten.

if it is not a fully enclosed /netted frm top to bottom...

accident might happen one day, if it gets to the balcony..

sure there are cats that can rest on the owner's shoulder and the owner is riding a motor balik kampung...

Previously, I don't know as he is a rescue that the vet fostered so I just stuck to that since the vet recommended. The vet also told me to not let his weight go over 4kg for fear of UTI if overweight but I don't think I can afford buying this in the future sad.gif

That kitten very erratic. Sometimes will finish the Blackwood kibbles, sometimes smell and then walk away. RC Kitten totally don't want to touch most days. Looking at Carnilove and Cindy's Recipe for him to try. Are those brands okay?
*
Overweight cat is less active, so tends to drink less water, therefore has higher risk.

Feeding all dry diet also increase the risk, cos naturally the cat don't like to drink a lot.

Not all cat will kena tho, some whole life eat dry food for 14 years oso never kena block before..

To prevent cat from getting, fat, dont free feed, and feed just enough.

Most cat food are high in calorie, low energy cat food, like the RC one they purposely sell it more expensive...
that is how they do business.

For me, I only do the 'take it or leave it' method, the cat / kitten will eventually eat the food, when they are hungry.

Don't pour out a lot of food n leave it there, the smell will go away, and the cat wont' like.
So start at small quantity.

carnilove or cindy as long as they eat it. I've not smell cindy so can't comment, I know carnilove usually have very strong smell.

Let's have a look @ cindys recipe.
Never had a chance to belek this cat food @ the pet shop.

As with any product, first look for the company behind it. Check the food packaging, can you find any address?
Since we don't have the packaging, we goto the website, there is contact form, but no address or company name can be found.

Made in France? (what a luck eh to choose France, due to some people wana boikot French product)
Saw the huge 'Made in France' printed twice on the front of packaging. Ok, can you find any French address on the packaging?
Maybe bcos the famous RC is from France, and bought over by Mars Inc.
Search online, can you find CR product being sold anywhere, apart from Msia?

CR terbalik = RC .... Wow!! And it's made in France!

Even RC don't want to clearly state where their pet food is made. Made in the EU. No address of the contract factory.

Any other languages printed on the packaging apart from english?
We see other brand have up to 10 languages printed, meaning it's being sold @ 10 diff countries.

Ok, finally found an address. It's on their pdf catalog.

Hi sifus, Im fostering some kittens currently 4 weeks old and still nursing. Will put up for adoption after their vaccinations at 8 weeks. Want to ask recommendations for kitten kibble easy to find and moderately good, not high end. So that new owner easy to take over and also purchase the food. Currently they dont eat any kibble yet but just started tasting wet food.
*
short term - powercat, wiskas, misha... - got some flavouring aroma. easy to get frm supermarket.

prodiet- smell no good. (2years ago)

anything better than the above but not that expensive, are mostly not easy to get frm shop.

or you can check on shopee, got alot others like reflex la, molly la, greens la, so many..
but only can get frm certain pet shop/online.

Thanks. I currently have Prodiet kitten, not sure if they are interested to eat, will try and see. The mum is eating that now + RC, we mix mix. Since I heard lactating mum can eat kitten kibble so I got Prodiet that time then later bought RC to mix in. Do you think RC is ok for cat approx age 5 to eat long term? I probably will keep the mum if she doesn't run away after the kittens find new homes. Just a stray cat breed but having a few health issues according to vet. Im trying my best to help her, she's in recovery from mange, respiratory infection and her BUN level from blood test is at the border (Vet says kidney not very good but still within the acceptable range, so should not feed too much wet food)
*
rc is very popular, alot of cats eating it worldwide.
they can make the food smell very attractive to cats.
if you can afford, of cos can con't to feed rc.
kidney issue, BUN high, vet will recomn less protein, hence the less 'can food'. U can choose the rc for °kidney' , renal type.
RC's speciality is in these, food with way less protein-renal.
Huge kibble type to clean teeth, etc etc.
All these, is not available frm other expensive brands.
Science Diet is another one, but sd is loosing out to rc in the cat department.

You can formulate your own, 'can food° add low carb cooked food etc.

my personal gripe is rc way too expensive..

Now they dont eat the cheaper brand as fast. Sometimes left over until got ants. I am thinking buying RC fit 32. But i scared the auntie come back to feed her food and the cat dont eat it anymore. I cannot be buying fit 32 for her right. She dont even buy kibbles. Sometimes whiskas mix with anchovies and things.
*
means they are getting too much food.

should just feed wiskas.
