Problem is me and the aunty very hard to catch her. Keep running away. The cat scare ppl.

Tried many way, don't feed her... Hard. She alone cannot catch also because old.

Anyway I can get help? Where to get the cowboy stick?

From the picture, I can't say it is sporo positively. Mosquito bites can caused those wounds too. I wish you good luck catching that cat. You likely need to gain the cat's trust first which may require a lot of your time. Please wear gloves and face mask just in case. Make sure the vet will do blood test & examination of the fluid from the lesions to confirm sporo because the sporo medicine can be toxic (as far as I know) if that cat doesn't have sporo.

Avoid using either drops or medicated shampoo for tick & flea, on kitten less than 12 weeks old & puppy. Either give them bath using dish soap or if you can find food grade diatomaceous earth (DE), dust the powder to their fur and on their skin. For the latter, the effect may take time.

Oh, btw, mother cat do eat more when nursing. Just feed her whenever she want. She need a lot of energy to take care her kittens. I always make sure the food bowl full at all times.

Hi,
My cats also have problem with fleas. I've been bitten by the fleas also.
Have put spot on and shampoo the cats but still have fleas. Sent for grooming also cannot remove the fleas.
Went bathing, i rinsed with salt water. 2nd time with apple cider but still not solved.
Last sunday sent them for grooming at another store but still found a few fleas and notice my cats still scratching.

I also did misting for my house.Done by the pest buster. Before misting, i've also put salt on the carpet and vacuum and also baking soda but still not solve.

Friends, any idea to solve this fleas problem?

Thanks.
*
I don't have experience with spot on but if it doesn't kill fleas then it doesn't work. I have found (one so far) anti-flea & ticks drops that doesn't work.

For bath, sometime you'll need to bath your cats a couple of times to completely get rid all of the fleas. Since you already bath your cat a couple of times, usually this means there's infestation of fleas in your house or wherever your cats like to hangout. Do pest buster specialized in killing fleas too? Probably not.

Vacuum, baking soda & Diatomaceous Earth (DE) require time to take effect when there's already infestation going on. They will work. They work great for preventing fleas infestation though.

Try different drops, e.g. advantage anti-flea drops.

i think my cat currently on her first heat..she suddenly meowing louder, overly manja & sometime behaving weird lol...her age is around 6-7 month...should i spayed her when the heat cycle is over? or can i spayed her now?
*
I recommend waiting for heat cycle to over. Many vets may willing to spay cat in heat but some vets prefer not to. There's risk when spaying cat while in heat. As cat's owner I wouldn't take the risk. First timer cat in heat usually just last a couple of days & long period of "cuti" before the next heat cycle. Then you can spay your cat a week or two after the heat cycle is over. I remember my vet said two weeks. Sometime on the day of the surgery, if coincidentally cat is in heat, if vet already opened the cat, they will proceed with the spay anyway, same thing if the cat is pregnant. There's no exact number of delay/period between heat cycle.

To answer your question, yes, you can spay her now but there's risk doing so while she is in heat. It is also up to your vet too.

Shedding is normal but if it is excessive you should consult your vet.

Usually there are many reasons why cats behaving like this for example picky (if there's already poo in the litter box), upset stomach (they feel uncomfortable when pooping and associate that feeling when pooping in the litter box which means sometime they avoid using litter box because of that reason), health issue and many more.

You can try pickup your cat's poop from the litter box more frequently. You can try use different clay litter. You mentioned using clay litter but are they clumping or non-clumping? If non-clumping, change to clumping type. If you have a cage, try cage your cat with a litter box in it. For example caging your cat at night for a couple of days and then see whether this improved your cat behavior. If your cat still poop outside litter box in the cage, you should bring your cat to vet.

IMO, this sound like your cat misbehave than health issue though. Good luck.

To all readers,

I have read that essential oils (e.g. coconut oil) help prevent flea re-infestation on cat but there is an article that this is not safe on cat because cat's body can't excrete essential oil efficiently. Basically toxic to the cats. So beware & do research more if anyone thinking on using essential oils on their cat.

QUOTE(hestati @ Nov 16 2017, 03:01 PM)
We found a cat yesterday, male, maybe 3 month old. Gave some food and now he lives near our house (we have a big indoor cat too).

Kitten is healthy but I want to get rid of flea and ear mites. What do you recommend? Considering he will be street cat, once we get rid of flea, do you recommend anti flea collar?

Do you recommend frontline for flea and something else for ears? Where to buy?

Thanks!
*
Try give him a bath first. Don't use human shampoo/soap but use one for animal/cat. You also can use dish washing soap.

For ear mites, I recommend bring him to the vet.

I clean my cat's ears occasionally. Try clean your cat's ears using ear cleaner (liquid) which you can get at pet store. I think this is faster way to clear ear mites. My cat's ears remained clear the next day & he/she stop scratching his/her ears.

morning guys. would like to ask for recommendation of treats u guys think the best to feed your furball. got 2 kittens age 2-3 months. prefer the dry types of treats
*
I can't give you recommendation on commercial cat treats but once in a while I did give my cats chicken or yogurt. Obviously treats are food that your cats love to eat. So if you go with commercial cat treats, you'll need to experiment which your cats like. Also don't forget to look at the ingredients, avoid any that harmful to cats.

Well SPCA is animal welfare group. One of their tasks is to re-home all animal in their care. If they only display pretty animals, then that are not so pretty will stay un-adopted. This also keep people that only want cat from special breeds at bay because for sure the fee you need to pay at spca way cheaper than cats from breeder.

fussie cat or any brand in particular?
i think everclean is a tad too heavy. everytime i try to sift it, feels very heavy and a lot of clean litter goes to waste (even slowly sift it)
review (tiba2):
if u guys wanna search for a good litter (and u guys didnt use smartsift), everclean is the best. no smell, very good clumping, one box can last me up till 1 month (2 cats)
*
Make sure you only fills or top up slightly below the marker (line). Otherwise it can easily overflow when you "sift" the sand. I think you feels heavy because you put too much in the smartsift.

I usually gently pull & push the handle, like shaking it to make sure most of the clean litter go into the compartment before pulling the handle all the way.

Not in my opinion. I don't prefer "automatic" boxes since poop is a great indicator of health, and the general rule is you should have (number of cats)+1 litterboxes.
*
It's not automatic though. You'll need to turn the lever yourself to drop the poop & clumped urine into the bottom drawer. Basically you still be able to see if there's anything abnormal to the poop. I do agree with the general rule though.

Hi guys, i'm planning to pet a cat for my kid and this is my first time having a pet in the house, however i heard problem regarding on them destroying furniture such as scratching sofa and etc, may i know is there any way i can prevent this action from them?

Thanks
*
Do you mean adopting a cat for your kid? If your kid is a kid, meaning not teenager yet (well even if your kid already teenager), I recommend adopting cat that is at least 2 years old or older. Taking care kitten can be tiring especially for people that have no experience with pet. They like to play rough too. So go for more mature cats. If possible get a rescue cat but it is all up to you.

Like hutazi said, get scratching posts. Put it around the house.
