mmm........very much depending on the complexity of your design

for example,
i mean you can't expect a potrait tattoo to be cheaper or at same pricing as a say, tribal tattoo of the same size
*
I've posted the design I wanted I think a page or two back. Last time when my mother did her tattoos in Sg Wang as well as KK they photocopied the design out, traced it and inked in (Ballpen ink) onto the skin before tattoo-ing... so I don't think it's THAT complex. I asked for approximately 2-2.5 inches as well, in black colour.

Maybe I'll ask in Sg Wang... but lazy to go aaaall the way down sweat.gif

onli left lobe gauged? ur right lobe not been pierced and gauged?

16mm....i guess u shouldnt' go any larger, it's just nice

mine's 8mm on one side...the other's 6mm - was waitin' for a year, for the other to get pierced and gauged and heal b4 i stretch them both at the same time

where are you? u sound like u're in UK?

anyways, i saw a guy with a 16mm lobe somewat.....3 weeks ago i think, at zouk.....he was well....not the kind of look that i was looking for...i mean it's quite odd, cos' he only have his left lobe stretched to like 20mm i think, but where his right lobe's a virgin lobe
*
have not touch the right lobe. am planning to get both to 20 or so. afraid to get a new piercing, have been busy and always not enough rest.
my body really hates being pierced, my industrial on the left ear also F'ed cause of bump.
i'm from klang though, but basically does all my stuff at zoo. still havent found any place besides zoo that i can trust.

owh, and i saw a post about micro dermals. zoo is doing it, i am prolly the first guy in malaysia with a micro dermal implant on the face.

thats prolly how EVERY tattoo artist gets their stencil over onto your body.
even a super complicated piece.
i am a guy against cheap tattoos, i always lecturer people when they wanna get cheap tattoos done.
you might think thats its cool now, but ink WILL smear, if done cheaply, will prolly fade as well.
so a good design is a must and do remember that you'll be having it for life, you dont wanna have a black patch of ink on your body when you're like 50 no?

anti-eyebrows......cool

i'm not realli familiar with micro dermals......

i reckon for anti eyebrow.....you would need two micro dermal piercings to simulate the traditional anti eyebrow piercing no?

Please don't misunderstand me. I'm NOT looking for a cheap tattoo... but come on- RM 300+ is considered very expensive for me, even though my parents are the ones paying. My mother has her tattoos done for, at maximum, RM 250 the most at Sg Wang. Her tattoos are still fine and nice, I think her first tattoo is about 5 years now, and they're mostly intricate Sanskrit characters (Done in black ink though)- more complex than mine, and some are custom designs. And guess who is the person advising her throughout about tattooing and stuff? Me.

I've also been asking around about the reputation of the tattoo artists in Dragonfly, but thus far no one has directly given me a satisfactory answer. Same with recommendations for tattoo parlours/artists. I live in PJ, and travelling down to Sg Wang is too cumbersome for me at the moment with University and all.

not to badmouth dragonfly.....but i have less confidence in dragon fly's artists

though i'm not exactly sure on this....so better not comment much

the thing is, i went dragonfly mid valley recently - asked for their portfolio - they don't have a portfolio.....

sg. wang studios..yea, a lot of them have portfolios.....

but wait, pricing of tattoos have increased much.....same goes to piercing pricings

it's also depending on the artist who's doin' it for you.....say a 5 years experience kinda artist doing.....compared with a tatoo convention level artist......even though they're doin' the same design

it's just like drinking pure mineral water in pubs and drinking pure mineral waters in kopitiam

seriouly asking here, how much do you know about tattoos to be giving advise to someone? note that im not bashing you. i just wanna say that only tattoo artist or people who are in that business would be best to advise as they themself know best. i really couldn't see why someone who is only studying right now could fork out money for expensive mobile phones/laptops/digital cams and drives a car priced close to 100k could not afford a tattoo more then 300+.

i just checked your post on the design you wanted, that will seriously look shitty when shrink down to 2-3 inch. why you ask? you even noticed that its a back piece? shrinking it down, its even hard to draw. its easier if you could just print it out to the size you wan, and try tracing it from there. with bold lines, it'll seriously look like a black cube rather then lines when the ink starts to smear.

note that im not BASHING you, just seriously though. think about it. im not saying that you're cheap, just that this is something that will be on your body for the rest of your life, if you're really serious about getting a tattoo, get a good one.

anyways, forget about the debate guys...u guys all have ur own point to keep to your own smile.gif

anyways, u know wat Yukaeshi - the only reputable place i've known by far for tattoos is borneo ink - from the testimonials i hear from a lot of ppl...

pricings for tattoos are that expensive now la....in the States, and NZ...it's even more expensive
cos' i did ask b4 on the rates from those countries

i did ask around sg. wang for half sleeve b4....and they quoted me RM 2.5 - 3K

i mean it's just half sleeve, not even full sleeve yet

haha i am IN thailand now. working.
ninelives, pj or kl area Im on for it. 2nd feb would be better though. 1st feb, i'll be attending a training in Singapore.

Yukaeshi - i seriously think pricing isnt a big deal since most ppl would rather pay for the quality.

i did mine at borneo ink. i trust them. the enviroment is better, as compared to most of the shops in sg wang. well just my 2 cents. cheers all.

or if u're on budget, go to zoo body art in sg. wang...i think they charge around rm 100 for ear lobe piercing
rm 80 is for piercing ....a standard pricing across almost everywhere i reckon?

wat goes on top of RM 80 depending on the jewellery type you're settling for...surgical steel bein the norm....and jewellery type like titanium being the most expensive
