hi guys, quick question here, i wanna OC my Sapphire R7 250X, and so far i just up around =
GPU Clock = 965mhz
High Performance Memory Clock = 1165mhz
and i`ve furmark on both 1080 and 720 for like a minute and it stays around 72 celcius Caps. So my question here is, how do i know its the max OC for my GPU and also what is the function for power limit settings and how to use it. Thanks ! (Using AMD Catalyst)

Guys, Im currently owning 680, just wonder is there any big difference/upgrade to 970? Wish to play max setting @ 1080p for GTA V.

If what is said be unseen83 is true, more than 3840x2160 will be severely affected by the memory bug then I will be royally pissed with the 2 x GTX 970 I got.
Im using a 4320x2560 resolution monitor to play games and the reason I got 2 of the 970 is so it can have enough processing power to run, but it will now be severely handicapped because of very slow memory access. And you know when you play games at >4K Resolution, high speed memory is very important.  Nvidia should refund all of us for misleading info. The issue wont be so bad if the memory architecture remained the same as the GTX980 And only cut 3 out of 16SP.

The looks alone already make it nicer than the rest. When you hold it, it's rock solid. I had so much fun overclocking that baby and I'm surprised to see I get 10 fps gain from the overclock without trying too hard.

Rarely I come across any card that even allows one to overclock much, let alone gain 5fps.

you know, there are people who pay $$$ to get stuff that looks good and OCs kau kau to be top of the 3Dmark list and such.

This is the card that you pay and get good stuff.

You can look at those RM 1,499 GTX 970 that's already ridiculously priced - those types you get great heatsink but no guarantee to OC well. Power draw is also limited.

Personally I wouldn't recommend this to the average consumer either BUT it's a great card and only a niche group of people will consider it.

Even the vanilla 780 launched at > 2k price point, I recall paying 2199 (or was it 2099) for the Zotac 780 reference back in 2013 (first week launch). Others brands were typically priced higher.

i think if they did release a 980 Ti, itll take over previous 780 Ti price point when it first released

play dota 2 enable DSR 4.00x native resolution 3840 x 2160 with 33% smoothness on my 1080p monitor will cause the game shuttering badly.

dota 2 is not a really demanding game also perform so SUX!

This may be awkward, bought a GTX 970 today Very happy with it's performance except for Dying Light.
Upgrading from GT 620 to GTX 970 is heaven and earth comparison.

1st time start watchdogs got coil whine with GTX 970 but after i edited the below setting the coil whine gone.

VSync 2 frames
GPU Max Buffered Frames 5
Texture Ultra
Anti-Aliasing TXAA x4

everything ultra graphics quality but NVIDIA control panel grayed out ambient occlusion & there's the option for ambient occlusion in the game setting which i set to HBAO+ High. damn weird

It looks good. It reaffirms before you test it out atleast " Money Well Spent" kindda feeling.

Its the same as going to Massage Parlor ahem getting a HJ for RM50 from Pro Auntie and going to another with Miss Universe for RM150.

Look at phones. Apple led in the beginning with design and ask for a premium and still do lol... Android came in with crappy looking phones. Phones now are packaged like iphones. Android kicked apple butt. No more bulky huge boxes.

Its one of the reasons why EVGA / Asus excels at for a long time and now even their low/mid end etc all gets good packaging. Gaygay ( Actually got a warning in OCN for calling gigabyte Gaygay..) has totally revamped itself realizing this. Ppl will pay for it.

Spending money for design and packaging matters.

In that respect i will still recommend the 970 over 290x any day.

btw the full maxwell has a lot of work to do to satisfy the enthusiast level. Everybody is waiting for 4k to be dominated with dual cards at min 60fps with everything turned up. This is no small feat.

Current offerings overclock does it for 1440p. ure gonna need 2.25x the performance of these cards to achieve that. Thats no joke.

AMD likes to show off brute gpu power where Nvidia try to reduce power consumption, trust me my electricity bill is different when i started using gtx970

Maybe they allow free sync on certain driver then removed it, same goes to the old story of you cant Quad SLI 780 previously. You only can do 3 max

yup just ordered mine guess will arrive late CNY belum habis  , i play mainly on 1080p so i guess 960 is enuf for me for now, just have to wait for upcoming fully baked maxwell's  .

No offence to amd owners 290x is certainly a good buy if compared to gtx970 in terms of memory size and brute force    , i have used that card keeps getting too hot until rma, bought a 970 nggredia con me 500mb of vram (terus kansel plan to buy higher res monitor), since now stuck at 1080p might just buy a 960.
