It's not major dilemma. If you're going to run multimonitor and/or at 4k & higher resolution then 8GB would make sense because running games at max settings will eat a lot of VRAM. Even if you did want to run in this kind setup, you'll need two or more 8GB cards. If you stick to 1080p, then 4GB is more than enough. Your PSU is fine for single card.
It's not that simple. Fan on the cooler is not designed to work based on tdp but it based on temps, specifically the core temp. Higher tdp doesn't necessarily mean it will run at higher temp than lower tdp (read heat vs. temperature). It depends on the cooler system. Fan speed & noise depends on a couple of factors like the cooler (heatsink) efficiency/performance & fan specification.
my R9 290 Tri-X @ 50% fan speed is quieter than my 1200rpm 120mm silverstone case fans...

You misunderstand. The "Chicken and duck talk" is Chinese saying that you are not talking about the same thing & misunderstand what he is trying to say.

BTW, I just want to clarify that only.

Thanks a lot, will try my 620W first, if I ever go for 290X. Now just need to decide which card should I buy now... notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

how much money you got alot that don't mind to spend ?  go Gigabyte GTX 980 G1(3year warranties)  or save RM800+  go for MSI R9 290X Lightning(3 year warranties) both gpu is POWER to GAME on Ultra 1080P  and 620W should be okay to power this gpu...

Frankly tell you, my budget max RM2300, final upgrade before GST, plan to use it for some time (at least three years).

Of coz, if possible cheaper the solution is better i can save back my budget. so if I follow this direction, GTX 970 or 290X will be more sensible. As personally I'm a mild AMD fanboy, so emotionally i more toward 290X. But I have read some review state that GTX 970 shows better performance. For GTX 980, there are a demon inside my heart always telling me to get the best card around (which is GTX 980 for now)

eh dun worried so much with GST,  at moment all GPU you buy is overprice already, so if the seller increase their price ask/request for Vat number claim they reg GST give a call  1-300-888-500 or 03-88822111  see if they REG their company to charge 6% Good and Service Tax and Company made RM500,000 a year in profit... GOV LOVE TO CHARGE THEM TAX! haha

http://gst.customs.gov.my/en/cu/Pages/cu_ccc.aspx

x
so get MSI r9 290X Lightning RM1.3K good price... and when R9 380X out  sell your lightning get R9 380X  icon_idea.gif
*
When do you think it will out? 380X~ Now all we know about it just rumours and rumours with unknown amount of element of truths inside~~ For Lowyat shop i think they all can make 500K annually with little sweat lol flex.gif flex.gif

OFF TOPIC:
GST they can or not made 500K a year is up to him to declare it.. that's meant pay %% to Gov.. why GST required strict reg for them to claim/charge GST 6% charge towards customer... why u need ask them vat number.. before made purchase..  cool2.gif   bro what ever it is 6% GST no different than  moment SST(sale service Tax) we all paying for goods..  just with GST alot got Exclude from TAX smile.gif  e.g. Education Fee, Public transport, Feul Petrol Ron95/Deisel, sale purchase or Rental Residential properties / First 300 unit Electric / Basic Food item(raw chicken, meat, fish at market) /reading material/newspaper /Medical medicine drug (cover heart/diabetic/)

Wow... informative!! what goods we currently have now really do pay sales/service tax? Do you mean that most electronics we have now are paid for these taxes already? You think GST may not have impact on electronic prices? if so, that good news indeed

haha  why u think some seller  up price ? say cover their supplier charge/upkeep so on..(but some Famous excuses is  MALAY currency is falling over dollar so we  sell higher or have to increase.. which is wrong and breach consumer law in malaysia)  now you know if they charge GST wont be higher than 6% and need to have GST Reg number on Receipt.  But u buy Gpu before.. you see any SST 6% charge on the Receipt ? i bet is no...  lolx  so no worried la with GST...  it effect if your big big buyer for commercial purpose and how Malay Gov introduce re-vamp Good service tax to monitor those big big company from tax exemption...
*
yeah i went to lowyat few days ago for some inquiry, I heard those reasons lol! blink.gif blink.gif blink.gif I guess no matter hoe tiny of the impact, we need to pay extra 6% if those electronics were not paid SST before. But I'm not really sure if the electronic parts i bought a few years back are paid for the tax or not. Should i concern and buy my dream card before april or no need to worry the price wont up?

PS: sorry guys I know this is off topic and not gonna do with Radeon, but I guess as a consumer here we should know better the future tax implementation right? hmm.gif

Regard of GTX 980, how do you see minor brand like Leadtek, i just know they are quite low profile and almost all nvidia quadro card i saw were from leadtek just like Sapphire for AMD firepro. Priced at RM1999, will that be better buy compared with major bradn like MSI Giga or ASUS which their GTX 980 priced at 2299 or more

Yup, that is correct.

Nvidia already forced to use 28nm on GTX 900 series, I guess much of the rumor said that the TSMC production of 20nm (or below) chips are devoted to Apple and qualcomm. But May I ask that lowering the nm may help in power consumption, but will it make large impact on performance? From what I see when Intel came from 32nm to 22nm, the performance difference are not as drastic as I thought.

Yes they're leaving TSMC together with Qualcomm i think. Nah, if the 390x is on 14nm then you have to wait till 2016/2017.

I heard they are going to Global Foundries. I think AMD should consider cooperate with Samsung as well, they got one of the best electronic manufacturing technology around.

HMm.. my humble opinion when buying Gpu (don't go for brands/Color unless your Shallow like me tongue.gif) First Warranties ! more the better(Zotac i heards give 5 year? if choose Nvidia) Cooling this you need to do some Research go read 2-3 review not focus on single review... go youtube watch video review...  Know what PSU requirement and Length of the GPU cards... will it fit into case...
*
I will go for brands or colour only if all these brands are similar in price and similar in perceived quality brows.gif . But for some brand like Sapphire for AMD/ATi; Leadtek for Nvidia, they are very less advertised (especially for leadtek,I rarely see anyone using this brand as review subject since GTX 700; Sapphire enjoy very nice review though, especially for their superb GPU cooler). for these brand I just don't know if I should choose them against the major brand which are significantly more expensive. This kind of dilemma always appearing when I did anykind of upgrade (such as, dilemma btw AMD FX 8350 or i5 4670K when I build my current rig, while my 7870 came from my previous rig which was a Core 2 Quad Q9440). For the past, I will always go for the price (thats why I might always choose sapphire for AMD card, and this brand enjoys good review), but now I don't know. As I have never set my eye on nvidia before as past gen AMD card just too good in CP value.

Despite the recent release of GTX 960, R9 285 is still the best performance-to-price card out there.

For me, I will lean more toward better performing 280X for that particular price range. LOL~ rclxms.gif rclxms.gif flex.gif flex.gif

despite R9 285 being newer and more efficient in term of power efficiency, I admit I'm that kind of guy who will not have a single thought of TDP issue IF the power supply are enough... brows.gif brows.gif brows.gif
