Nah, the 280 use less than 200w when gaming. Usually around 150-180, depend on the core clock.AMD Radeon™ Discussion V12, Latest - 14.12 | WHQL - 14.12

QUOTE(terradrive @ Apr 13 2015, 09:03 PM) the 280 is higher clocked version than the 7950 boost. 8mhz higher in that review. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/sapphi...9-280,3914.html even 270X is 180w max better safe than sorry, some game's UI is crazy like on AS Unity's menu screen in game, the GPU ramps up to crazy heat and power consumption if didn't turn on Vsync From TH's old 7950 review. Though these card clocked at 900mhz highest but i doubt +50mhz will increase the power consumption significantly without increasing the voltage. ![]() ![]() and GPGPU. Notice the 7970 consumed much more power? ![]() From Hexus.net http://hexus.net/tech/reviews/graphics/675...dual-x/?page=10 QUOTE Remember this is system-wide power consumption evaluated at the mains. Sapphire's card can, quite comfortably, be powered by a sub-500W PSU. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « From HardOCP. http://www.hardocp.com/article/2014/10/14/...o_card_review/9 QUOTE With the system running at full load, the XFX R9 280 DD 3GB drew 309W from the wall. This is more power efficient than both the AMD Radeon R9 285 and MSI N760 TF 2GD5 OC video cards. The MSI N760 TF 2GD5 OC only drew 327W from load, while the AMD Radeon R9 285 drew 335W. After applying our highest stable overclock to the XFX R9 280 DD 3GB, total power consumption rose from 309W, up to 337W. This is 2W more that the AMD Radeon R9 285, and 10W more than the MSI N760 TF 2GD5 OC ![]() They didn't touch the voltage though. Some 7950/280 had voltage locked at 1.25v thus will get higher power consumption. My card 2nd boost BIOS had a voltage locked @1.25v and it's not stable, i undervolt it and work like a charm. I limit my frame to 200fps systemwide with RTSS, like you said.. better safe than sorry. This post has been edited by Acid_RuleZz: Apr 14 2015, 02:42 PM |

If you guys using single GPU and playing GTA5, the modded March 11 driver by Asder00 will give you slightly better performance over the newly release 15.4 beta imo.

QUOTE(terradrive @ Apr 15 2015, 10:58 AM) Wow, the screenshots looked really good. Ya mang, the graphic is decent for 2015 title imo. It didn't looked half as good when I was playing on my PS3 last time. QUOTE(Desprado @ Apr 15 2015, 04:13 PM) All the benchmark are some what similar to PClab because they tested on Ultra to very settings. Are they all using built in benchmark? Check this thread i made this topic. http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2428094 Go to till last page and all website benchmarks are there. Other benchmark looks quite normal to me. QUOTE(Desprado @ Apr 16 2015, 12:20 AM) No they all using story mode for the benchmark and mostly are driving that is why AMD driver overhead is coming to play. The benchmark kinda glitch out on me. My friend's 970 also dropped frame rates while driving so it's not really AMD exclusive though his minimum is slightly higher than mine. QUOTE(chocobo7779 @ Apr 16 2015, 08:21 AM) On what setting? I'm planning to change my casing to CM Haf XB Evo. Any complaint or better alternative at similar price point?

If i'm not mistaken, FX-7500 is not an APU. You can check the GPU RAM capacity thru CCC>Information>Hardware or just run GPU-Z. |

QUOTE(Najmods @ Apr 17 2015, 09:26 PM) You are right, FX-7500 is an APU with integrated graphics, and the R7 260MDX have it's own 2GB dedicated memory. You can double confirm with GPU-Z. Oh, my bad. I forgot it's a Kaveri. When i see FX i instantly though it doesn't have integrated gpu. QUOTE(TheHitman47 @ Apr 17 2015, 10:32 PM) i think i tried before while im messing up with the settings, as far as i remember it dont fix it. Didn't happened to me. its easier to spot when u are at michael mansion, just beside the garage got wall and some tree shadow..if u not sure where, ill screenshot later. Tried beside the garage and it didn't happen too. Is your CCC D3D setting on default? |

QUOTE(TheHitman47 @ Apr 18 2015, 10:04 AM) Yeah, i didnt touch anything in ccc. Only doing in game settings. You can pause the video around 0:10 for my ingame settings. I didn't enable advanced setting and CCC on default. Mind share both of your settings, this is bugging me More than it should. Maybe you can try restore CCC to default, sometime it bugged out when u upgrade driver. |
