QUOTE(haruyap @ Feb 2 2015, 12:25 AM)
Hi TristanX, I'm looking to build a CPU on a similar budget and purpose as well (gaming + multimedia work). My initial budget is RM3K (with monitor), and hoping the build will last for about 3-4 years before I need to change my graphic card to play more graphically advance games without lagging/spiking.

Would you recommend investing the extra RM500 and follow the CPU build as above? Or is there a more affordable build for RM3K with monitor? To be more specific, which part of the computer should I budget on and which part I should invest more (eg: graphic card vs RAM, etc).

Thanks in advance!  notworthy.gif
*
If you can,add RM500. nod.gif What kind of multimedia work do you do? hmm.gif

QUOTE(playxboxwii @ Feb 2 2015, 01:17 AM)
tq for the suggestion
is there anything i can downgrade a bit
the graphics card seems bit expensive..is it that worth it?
can run ac unity/ps4 graphics game smoothly??
*
GTX970 is worth the money! brows.gif Well, for games that eat like more than 3.5GB of vRAM,expect some stuttering. wink.gif

Doesn't like the case and prefer gigabyte over asrock, especially with the integrated WiFi feature with IEEE802.11ac.

What do you think about my latest list?
*
Bro,it does has an integrated WIFI,but it is an ITX board.. doh.gif Change it to Gigabyte H97-D3H RM389..and then get TP-Link TL-WN881ND RM49.

Also..the price of the i7 4790 is RM1050,not RM1000..unless you bundle with one of the listed/green coloured CPU coolers with the CPU. tongue.gif The rest, looks fine if you wanna burn the money.I'd get the best for the money though. biggrin.gif

Here,IdealTech's pricelist. http://idealtech.com.my/DOWNLOAD/IDEALTECH-PRICELIST.pdf

Hi guys, first time here. I would like some opinions and advice on this build for gaming. I asked a friend and he gave me this list, I added a little of my own. Plan to buy online via Amazon because the prices after conversion are lesser than local prices with free international shipping.

Budget - RM2,500 (CPU only)

Monitor resolution - 1080p

Mostly F/TPS games like CS:GO, Skyrim, Borderlands 2, Warframe, Saints Row IV, etc. and MOBAs like LoL, Smite, DotA, etc.

My preference:
- Rosewill FBM-01 Dual Fans MicroATX Mini Tower Computer Case
- Kingston HyperX FURY 8GB Kit (2x4GB) 1600MHz DDR3 CL10 DIMM
- EVGA 600B 80PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V/EPS12V Active PFC 600W Power Supply
- AMD FX-6300 Vishera 6-Core 3.5GHz (4.1GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 95W Desktop Processor FD6300WMHKBOX
- Gigabyte GTX 960 Mini ITX Overclocked 2GB GDDR5 Graphics Cards GV-N960IXOC-2GD
- GIGABYTE GA-F2A88XM-HD3 FM2+ / FM2 AMD A88X (Bolton D4) HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
- WD Blue Desktop Hard Drive 1TB, 7200 RPM, SATA 6 Gb/sec
- Samsung 850 EVO 250GB 2.5-Inch SATA III Internal SSD
*
Amazon? Are you sure they provise free shipping even to Malaysia?
Also, the CPU and MoBo your friend suggested aren't compatible with each other.FX-6300 needs a motherboard with AM3+ socket, but the one she/he suggested is FM2+.. sweat.gif The i5 below also beats the FX-6300.

Intel Core i5 4460 3.2GHz RM629
Asrock B85M-HDS RM239
Leadtek GTX960 2GB GDDR5 RM759
Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB DDR3 1600MHz RM249
WD Caviar Blue 1TB RM179
Seasonic M12II 80+ Bronze 520W Modular RM279
CM K380 RM149
Total:RM2483
Prices are from Viewnet@LYP. smile.gif

Another thing about not to get parts from the overseas is..warranty. icon_idea.gif

Hi fellow mates, would like to have a recommendation for a new rig.

Budget
RM2500 - RM3000

Purpose
Main reason : Image Processing with decent processing speed
Secondary reason : Gaming

Hardwares that will be re-use
None.

Monitor resolution
No preference. Looking to build a rig that can support 2-3 monitors. With main monitor being 24''.

Games & softwares that use frequently
Work Softwares : MATLAB / C++
Games : SC2, DOTA2, AOE3

Personal preferences
My laptop have been really slow in doing my intensive work stuff. Therefore im looking for a computer with decent processing power.
16GB DDR3 RAM?

HDD 1TB probably.

To consider : SSD depending on price, not quite sure on the market price.

Casing, yes or no? If yes usually how much it cost?

PJ. Please locate the nearest cheapest hardware shopping point. I only know digital mall.

Thanks mates!
