yesterday i went to viewnet and they said it's sold out... did you guys know any other board can do almost the same function with asrock h87 performer within the price range? or just i go for the low end board? and upgrade when i change to i7 next time? and i want to get a 5.1ch speaker for my spec and the audio jack seem important?
*
If that is ur concern,
try hunt for asrock z87 pro3 rm379, asrock z87 killer rm419, gigabyte b85m gaming rm339, or asrock h97 performance rm474

Did u oni search in viewnet? other shops?

Hi guys. Thinking of upgrading my cpu. mainly for gaming stuff and not really do rendering like that. my choice would be between Intel Xeon 1231 v3 and I5 4690k. Which one should i buy it. i already got good cooling. but if combo with mobo is it worth to take the I5 4690k over the Xeon.?
*
If i were u, i will take the xeon,
it beats all the i5 include the oc, the oc i5 have to push harder to beat xeon
as future gaming is really cpu hunger,
i will go for xeon

bacause viewnet said if i take momboard with proc it will be cheaper...  cry.gif

Aha, u really fall for that?? Try do thru out survey, n calculate ur loss of getting xpensive mobo+cpu with viewnet n if u take separately, how much u actly loss..

But as i listed before, u can option within that mobo, for cheap n have much feature,

Else u have to end up with
asrock b85m hds or MSI B85M E45 ranging rm264-290, with less feature for cheapprice

[cool.gif[Budget] RM2,000-RM2,500

[Purpose] Gaming

[Hardwares that will be re-use] Monitor, keyboard, DVD drive (external though, so it's optional)

[Games & softwares that use frequently] Skyrim, Adobe Lightroom, hoping to be able to run GTAV, FC3

[Personal preferences]torn between AMD or Nvidia, more concern about it lasting longer

[Location] PJ

Have to get a new recommendation as there's now GST  cry.gif

intel I5 4440 v3 RM699
Asrock b85M hds rm264
corsair value ram 8gb rm229
fsp hexa+ 550w rm179
Leadtek GTX 960 Ref. RM830 (estimated)
wd 1tb RM199
Thermaltake v25 RM139

RM2539

opss, budget had been edited,

have to consider
SAPPHIRE R7 265 dual-x RM589
or
leadtek GTX750 Ti RM569

usually amd would blow nvidia on price/performance on same generation,
but now, the amd not yet release the opposer for the nvida 900series

so until then, nvidia 900series win on term price/performance

My friend said his IT friend told him to get this instead, any different than what Mod_po suggested?
Intel core i5
Asus h97 chipset motherboard
8GB DDR3 1600MHz ram
Kingston 120GB SSD
Toshiba 1TB HDD
Samsung DVD Sata drive
X-five ATX casing
Asus Nvidia GeForce GT740 display
*
ur budget is tight,
so for that tight budget we will put aside ssd, will upgrade in future once u have more budget,

what i suggest u having more power for rendering,

n usually Asus peripheral nowaday is overprice,

that GT740 will do no gud for u on both gaming or rendering

so u shud trust me more because i do a lot of heavy renderings and gaming to chillax

Thanks!! So Nvidia 960 is good? was told to consider 970 instead of 960. How about AMD? would you recommend any older gen amd?
*
of coz babe, it is gtx970, twice the power of gtx960,
but ur budget is tight, so cannot accomodate that,
gtx 970 cost around rm1200

if u dun mind 2nd hand,
shud hunt for r9 280x or hd7970 GHZ, ranging rm700-800 for used

I not so sure,
but u guess fsp hexa+ 550w would do just gud for u,
if u can cut a bit more budget on the mobo, get asrock b85m hds,

the is benq 24 inch selling rm489,

Hello.

I'd like to know how much I'd be spending for a gaming rig that can smoothly run Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn and TERA Online on max setting? I'm not buying anytime sooner cuz I don't have the money. I just want to know the estimation, so that I can save up from now.
FF14 system requirements
TERA system requirements
And, a recommendation for a full rig would be helpful.
[[Budget] Not yet determined. The cheaper the better (bukan anak dato'  tongue.gif )

[Hardwares that will be re-use] Monitor

[Monitor resolution] 1080p

[Games & softwares that use frequently] TERA Online and FF14

[Personal preferences] as long as it runs sleekly on max settings for both games mentioned

Just want to ask, what is considered as high end gaming rig? and around what budget for that?
*
what game u wanted to play???

usually high end gaming rig to play GTA 5 would cost rm3k and above

this one just copy paste from trixtanX build

Core i5-4460 - RM639
MSI B85M-E33 motherboard - RM219
Kingston 8GB DDR3-1600 x1 - RM220
Zotac GTX970 4GB DDR5 - RM1199 (from Cycom)
WD Blue 1TB hard disk - RM187
Corsair VS 550W power supply - RM190
Additional 12cm fan - RM25
Thermaltake Versa H25 case - RM150

RM2829 total (2998.74 total with GST from Cycom and Jayacom)

if below than 3k, still u can play next gen gaming,
just u might not play on high res

Hi Guys,

I plan to build a new rig for home+office use and 30% for tycoon games and 30% graphics design.

But for temp, I priorities for home+office use since its mainly for my wife use(teacher btw). Kindly suggest specs for budget range RM1500 - RM2300 (GST included)

Some of the item I have survey and plan to choose but still can be adjust biggrin.gif

CPU: Core i3 4150 RM382
RAM: 8GB Kingston D3 1600Mhz RM220
HDD: SG 1TB RM188
MOBO: Asrock H97M Anniversary RM290
GPU: skipped for this time, will use onboard graphics for time being (future upgrade)
Chasis: Suggest me
PSU: Suggest me
LCD: Suggest me
Keyboard + Mouse : Logitech Combo MK100  RM39

Price mainly from Jayacom......

Also for the GC, my next upgrade plan will be Sapphire R9 270
Dual-X OC RM589 (seperate budget) which I think it is enough since I didn't much into latest game except the heaviest is C&C Tiberium Alliances, CivCity, Civilization V. So the PSU should be can accomodate this card later without need for me to change PSU.

I guess my case is slightly different as I'm not looking to build a rig from ground up but rather just planning to upgrade my 3 year old Dell XPS 8500.

Currently the specs are;
Intel i5 3450 Ivy Bridge 3.1Ghz
4GB 1600Mhz RAM
1TB 7200RPM Hard Disk
460watt, PFC Power Supply
ATI Radeon HD 7570
Mobo - Not sure

I'm looking at upgrading the GPU to a GTX970 (any variant), a new PSU (as the 970 needs at least 500w), as well as 8GB RAM. Can anyone recommend on these parts? I prefer to keep my current CPU and mobo to save cost, will there be any bottleneck issues?

[Budget] 2000

[Purpose] Gaming

My only goal right now is to play Witcher 3 at 1080p/60 fps

Your processor is fine and still can handle latest games.

Leadtek GTX970 4GB GDDR5 Hurricane - RM 1429
Seasonic M12II EVO 520W PSU - RM 299
Kingston 4GB DDR3 Value RAM - RM 119

Total: RM 1847 (Viewnet price inclusive of GST)
*
just a note,
do bring ur current ram to at least find same configuration or better to find the same ram,
might, i say might, having compability issue if using diffrent kind of ram,

This is cool. Thank you. I understand that Xeon recommendation.

but the PSU, why spend 300 on that psu instead of standard corsair/cooler master rm190-ish? haha every bit counts
*
It is more towards durability n efficiency,
that is why price is higher as component is more quality,

If u dun use ur rig intensively or prolong 24/7,
corsair vs 550w RM189 or fsp or antec variant might do the job for u,
dun go with others psu which is rm190ish claiming they r bronze rated whatsover as it is not so reliable
